How to change the Region and Language settings under Windows 8
1. Point your mouse cursor to the upper or lower right corner of your screen to open the Charm bar.
Click on the Settings charm.
2. Click on Control Panel.

3. In the Control Panel, click on Region.
4. In the Formats tab, click on the Format drop-down list and select the desired country’s format
you wish to use.

5. Click on the Location tab and click on the Home location drop-down list. Select the desired
country you wish to set as home location.
6. Click on the Administrative tab and click on the Change system locale button.

7. You will be prompted to apply your region and language changes. Click on the Apply button to
confirm.
8. In the Region Settings dialog, click on the Current system locale drop-down list. Select the
desired country’s system locale you wish to use and click on the OK button.

9. You will be prompted to restart Windows for the changed to take effect. Click on the Restart now
button to confirm.
10. After Windows has restarted, please open the Control Panel again and click on Language.

11. In the Language window, click on the Add a language button.
12. Scroll through the list, select the desired language you wish to add and click on the Add button.
For languages with multiple sub-choices, the button will say Open.

13. For languages with multiple sub-choices, select the desired language and click on the Add
button.
14. Back in the Language window, select the newly added language, and then click on the Move
up button until it is at the top of the list.

15. Your Language window should now look like this.
16. The language icon in the notification area should now look like this.
