BADEN POWELL CRICKET CLUB JUNIOR REPORT 2015/2016
It was another a great year by the Baden Powell Juniors in season 2015/16. We fielded 7 junior
teams in all the junior age groups. But the highlight for me wasn’t the amount of kids we have
playing cricket it’s the amount of quality kids, with great parents/families, who play cricket with
exceptional sportsmanship and effort. This is the culture of the BPCC that has been built up
over many years.
Our 7 junior teams had very competitive seasons with two of our Under 14 teams making finals.
Under 14 Provincial team finished the season 2nd on the ladder and played a home semi final
at Overport. Unfortunately they were defeated late in the day in an effort that they can all be
very proud of. Our Under 14 Sub District team (which is mainly made up of eligible under 12
juniors) capped off a fantastic season by winning the premiership! Congratulations to these
future champs of our club - Well deserved.

To our under 16 players who finish their junior careers, we look forward to them continuing to
play seniors next season and for many years to come.
This season we introduced a Junior Match report afternoon with great success. It was held on
Sunday afternoons and had coaches read out results and highlights of completed games. They
were very casual gatherings with a BBQ running and bar open. A great way for all to meet other
families, players, coaches and to see what other teams are up to. This also enabled the junior
families to utilise the clubs facilities. Very pleasant Sunday arvo’s.

Our Junior Presentation Day was one of the
biggest seen in recent years. It was great to
see the club overflowing with
junior players and
their families. A massive success and
something we can work on to make even
bigger.
The club bought back to life the “Buddy
System, which pairs up senior players with
junior players. This is to encourage Seniors and
Juniors to be more across both the senior and
junior competitions. In future we hope that it will
also include some sort of mentoring system to
help our clubs juniors.

Ordinator) and all the coaches (Rob, Stella,
Chris, Michael, Richard and Tom), team
managers, scorers, volunteer umpires, net helpers, morning tea makers, bbq attendants, cordial
mixers, drink runners, boundary markers and the packer upperers of all the teams. Your efforts
are much appreciated by the club and all of your team I’m sure. Of coarse next season we will
require more helpers and coaches. If you think that this is something you would love to do then
get in contact with the club.

Finally, thanks again to all families for being apart of the Braves this season.Congratulations
