Director’s Cut
Hello everyone,
I'd like to apologize for missing this month’s meeting but as you all know, life just gets in
the way of things you enjoy doing sometimes. After reading the minutes from the meeting it
seems it went very well and I'd like to thank Assistant Director Rich McDonald for filling
in for me. With that said, I'd also like to emphasize Rich's praise on the Crab Feed and for
all those who worked so hard to make it happen, Jenny McDonald, Jodie Cenis, Elisa Ballard, Jack Piper, Deb Allen and Dorothy Humphrey. Thank you very much.
For those of you that went on the LOH ride last weekend to the Charles Schultz Museum I hope you found it
as interesting as I did. He was a very interesting and talented person. Thanks Gay for yet another fantastic destination ride. Speaking of rides, I want to thank all those members that volunteered for the Marin/SF Marathon
coming up on the 26th of this month and a big thanks to Jim Humphrey for organizing it.
Oh and don't forget next month is Fiesta Days and we are signed up for the Fiestas Days Parade so if you're interested in riding your motorcycle in the parade contact Jack Piper at the next meeting. It should be lots of
fun. Well I guess I should let this come to a close and hope you're all enjoying this great weather. Ride often
and most importantly ride safe!
Question: What was the name of Charlie Brown‘s favorite
pro baseball player for whom he tried (unsuccessfully) to get
a bubble gum card throughout the 1970‘s?
The people to approach Larry with the correct answer at the
meeting will be entered to win a $25 gas gift card. The winner
will be drawn at the break during the meeting.
February’s Trivia: What six nation’s flags have flown over Texas?
Answer: Spain, France, Mexico, Republic of Texa, Confederate States of
America, and the United States of America
Winner: Deb Owens
From Our LOH Leader—I wish to personally thank all the people who donated food to the Ladies Garage
night! It was a huge success and the food was terrific. the People who donated are Jim and Dorothy
Humphrey, Jade Carter, Steve Dulhaney, Tammy Williams, Becky Ortiz, Dori Valentime-Freitas, Chris
Jones, Jeanette Bissitt, and Patty Caspers. Thank all of you so very much for helping out.
Sunday April 12, we were planning to go to Daffodill Hill, but due to all the warm weather that had to be cancelled due to
all the flowers being bloomed out and the area closed. Instead we went to Santa Rosa to the Charles M. Schultz Charlie
Brown Museum. The day was beautiful and the rice very comfortable. The museum was extremely informative and I
enjoyed reading the comic strips and the background of them. Mr. Schultz was a very insecure man and it shows in his
strips. We had lunch at the shopping center across from the Museum and a very nice ride home. I think everybody had
a nice time. We had about 10 bikes and 18 or so people.
May 17 will be the date of our next ride going to the Oakdale Chocolate festival. Oakdale is down past Manteca and used
to have a Hershey's chocolate factory before things were consolidated due to the recession. The town took over the festival and there will be a variety of over 200 vendors. There will be unique arts and crafts, Chocolate Avenue with fudges,
truffles, chocolate ice cream, chocolate cheese cake and other assorted chocolate items. A variety of foods will be
served including Rockford Sausage, giant onion rings, smoothies, Chinese food and American items including hot
dogs. Pre-sale tickets are available online for $4 each through PayPal. The cost at the gate will be $6 with Seniors getting
a break at $5. GET YOUR TICKETS EARLY and plan to join the LOH ride on the 17th of May.
