Coach Weintraub on Carling: Carling is a team player and brings a witty, smart sense of humor to our squad. She
is a great athlete and competitor. She has excellent volleys and overheads and tremendous court sense in doubles.
She is also very reliable in pressure situations. Carling’s commitment to Columbia tennis, along with her hard work
and effort set a great example for the team.
Spring 2009: Had three wins in the No. 4 singles spot … had a win against C. Aboubakare of Brown in the No. 4 singles spot … beat
Brandy Andrews of Cal State-Fullerton at No. 4, 6-2, 6-3 … beat Long Island’s H-Ann Johnson at No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6-3.
Spring 2008: Had team-high six victories at singles, including 4-2 mark at No. 4 spot ... went 2-1 against Ivy League competition at No.
4 position ... added five wins in doubles, including 5-5 record at No. 3 doubles with Natalia Christenson.
2007: Went 4-6 with doubles partner Milena Kachar, three times at No. 1 and once at No. 2 ... defeated Lindsay Winningham of Dartmouth
7-5, 6-1 at No. 3 spot ... Won the A flight doubles consolation draw at the Cornell Invitational with teammate Nina Suda ... also won the B
flight singles consolation ... was solid at the six spot in the lineup.

Coach Weintraub on Natalia: Natalia is a hard worker and good leader. She has an excellent first serve and good
volleys. Natalia’s leadership ability, positive attitude, work ethic and self-discipline add an invaluable component to
our team dynamic.
Fall 2009: Appointed to the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, as the Ivy League representative.
Spring 2009: Had a win at No. 3 doubles against LIU, with partner Carling Donovan, beating the Blackbirds 8-7 (11-9).
Spring 2008: Earned five wins with Carling Donovan in doubles, including a pair of wins in Ivy League play ... defeated Harvard’s Vilsa
Curto in third-set tiebreak at No. 6 singles.
At Newark Academy: Earned three varsity letters in tennis at Newark Academy ... captained the team as a junior ... team won the New
Jersey State Championship in her first season ... won the sportsmanship award at 16 Zone Team Championships ... trained for a year in
Austin, Texas with Christo van Rensburg, former ATP Tour #1 doubles player, before coming to Columbia.

Coach Weintraub on Natasha: Natasha is extremely mentally tough and focused. She works hard in practice and
during our conditioning sessions. She has very strong ground strokes and excellent footwork and agility. Natasha has
stepped up this year and become one of the most integral members of our squad.
Fall 2009: Advanced to the semifinals of the Cissie Leary tournament with doubles partner Nicole Bartnik … had a first round win at the
Northeast Regional Indoor Championships ... participated in the 2009 ITA/Riviera All-American Tournament.
Spring 2009: Had four wins in the Nos. 1 and 1 singles spots … beat Shelly Injeikian of Cal State-Fullerton in the No. 1 singles spot …
defeated Elyse Steiner of Temple in the No. 1 singles spot, 4-6, 6-1, 14-12 … beat LIU’s Stephanie Elie, 6-0, 6-0 in No. 2 singles.
Spring 2008: Earned three wins in doubles and two more in singles play ... won only match at No. 3 singles against Amanda El-Togby
of Seton Hall, 6-3, 6-2 ... defeated Ashley Harper of St. John’s, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 5 spot ... teamed with Carling Donovan to defeat pair of
Seton Hall players at No. 3 doubles ... also had wins over duos from UMBC and UMass with Nina Suda.

in the ‘C’ bracket.
Spring 2009: Led the team in singles wins with seven, coming in Nos. 3, 4
and 5 spots … had a win over Agnes Sibilski of Harvard in the No. 3 singles
spot, 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (8) … had a win over Cal-State Northridge in the No. 3
singles spot …. Defeated Jerusha Cruz of Cal State-Fullerton, 6-3, 6-0 at
No. 3 … beat Loyola Marymount’s Jane Pringle at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 5-7,
10-4 … beat UMass’s Kaitlyn Carpenter, 6-1, 7-6(4) in the No. 3 singles
spot … beat Florida Atlantic’s Emma Rossiter, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.

Coach Weintraub on Nicole: Nicole is extremely
talented with very good accuracy and timing on
her backhand. She is fun, tough, confident, and
assertive. She brings a lot of match play experience
to our squad having participated in ITF junior
tournaments all over the world.
Spring 2009: Had six singles wins for Columbia, including a 5-7 record at
No. 2 … beat Karina Akhmadova of Cal State-Fullerton, 6-2, 6-0 … had a
win at No. 2 singles against Loyola Marymount, beating Jasmin Heckel, 64, 4-6, 10-3 … had a win at No. 2 against Temple, beating Theresa Stangl,
6-4, 1-6, 10-7 … beat Magdelena Ploch of UMass in the No. 2 spot, 3-6,
6-2, 6-0 … had a win over LIU’s Ashley Harvey at No. 3 singles, 6-4 6-4 …
opened the season with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Florida Atlantic’s Dominique
Wimmer.
