This year, we will have a two-part Spouse Program,
with Marsha Swain, wife of

be on hand to demonstrate
how to get everything you’ve
ever wanted for your hair.
One of the top hairstylists and
educators in the region, Bishop
is owner of Bishop’s Salon
and Day Spa. Flourishing for
more than 20 years, the salon
is recognized as a premier
destination salon and day spa
in top magazines, including
Harper’s Bazaar, Town &
Country, and Elle. There will be audience participation,
so arrive early for a prime seat.
Active lives and busy schedules are often calmed by a meal
at home. Whether it is your family, friends,
or business acquaintances, the table setting
is always a highlight. You don’t have to go
to the florist to look as if you did. There are
several inexpensive ways to brighten your
table and home for the special events of your
life. Cheryl Nesbit of Cheryl’s Flowers and
Gifts will illustrate some quick ways to add interest to
the table at mealtime.

Nashville Songwriters
Music City USA abounds with talented songwriters and
performing artists, so we have taken advantage of this
to conclude the 120th Annual Meeting with a special
performance by three of Nashville’s finest — James Dean
Hicks, Rivers Rutherford, and Sherrie Austin.
James Dean Hicks
At age 10, James Dean Hicks began
making the trip between his home near
Bardstown, KY, and Nashville for regular
appearances on the “WSM Midnight
Jamboree.” By the time he was 13, he had
opened concerts for Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, George
Jones, and Tammy Wynette. After earning a music degree
in college, Hicks moved to Nashville and joined the ranks
of staff writers to perfect his craft. Hicks’ live concerts
take the listener on a musical journey through heartfelt
ballads, traditional country themes, and rocking anthems.
Hicks has written several number one hits, and artists
who have recorded his songs include Conway Twitty,
Kenny Chesney, Lonestar, Wynonna Judd, The Oak Ridge
Boys, Sammy Kershaw, and Confederate Railroad.
Rivers Rutherford
Rivers Rutherford’s first big break came
in 1989 when the Highwaymen, including
Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie
Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson, recorded
his song “American Remains” on their
second album, with Rutherford playing guitar and
singing background vocals. Moving to Nashville in 1993,
Rutherford quickly found his place as an entertainer, studio
guitar player, and songwriter. He earned ASCAP’s Song
of the Year Award in 2002 for Brooks and Dunn’s “Ain’t
Nothin’ ‘Bout You.” Artists who have recorded his songs
include Gretchen Wilson, Tim McGraw, Gary Allan, Faith
Hill, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban, Trick Pony, Blake Shelton,
Deana Carter, Clay Davidson, Jamie O’Neal, and Andy
Griggs. In 2010 Rutherford’s songs will appear on albums
by Frankie Ballard, Lady Antebellum, Reba, Tim McGraw,
Trace Adkins, LeAnn Rimes, BJ Thomas, Bill Anderson,
Jamie Lee Thurston, Chasing Dixie, & Jimmy Wayne.
Sherrie Austin
Sherrie Austin has a sound uniquely
her own with arrangements often built
around chiming acoustic guitars, sparkling
mandolins, evocative fiddle lines, and the
occasional ripple of the steel guitar. Born in
Sydney, Australia, at age 14, Austin got her “big break”
opening for Johnny Cash’s 1985 Australian tour. At 17,
she played Pippa McKenna on NBC’s, The Facts of Life.
Writing and performing her own songs, Austin has four
solo albums to her credit. She has penned songs for Ronnie
Milsap, Dolly Parton, Tammy Cochran, Hal Ketchem, and
Tim Rushlow and co-wrote songs recorded by Danielle
Peck, Blake Shelton, George Strait, and a Tim McGraw’s
duet, with wife Faith Hill.

120 Meeting
Loews Vanderbilt Hotel
JUNE 6-8, 2010 • Nashville, TN
The Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville is headquarters for the 120th Annual Meeting of the Tennessee
Bankers Association, June 6-8, 2010.
Delegates are requested to preregister as soon as possible by completing this form and returning it with
payment of registration fees to the TBA office. Delegates registering for the convention by May 10 will be
included in the preregistration list available at the convention.
What’s Included: Convention registration includes all activities beginning with the Sunday evening, June 6,
reception, and concluding with the Tuesday evening, June 8, banquet and entertainment.
Hotel Reservations: The TBA has reserved a block of rooms at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel at special
convention rates of $170 single/double and $190 triple/quad, plus applicable taxes. There are a limited
number of rooms for Saturday night, June 5.
Delegates are requested to make hotel accommodations as soon as possible by calling 1-800-336-3335. Let
reservations personnel know that you are attending the TBA Annual Meeting. The cutoff date for making
reservations at the special convention rate is May 5, 2010. After this date, all rooms not guaranteed by
deposit or credit card will be released for general sale.
The cancellation of guaranteed reservations must be received 24 hours prior to arrival in order to avoid a
charge equal to one night’s room and tax.
Cancellation Policy: Annual Meeting registration cancellations received in our office by May 24 will be
eligible for a refund of registration fees, minus $25 per person. No refunds can be made after May 24
because of guarantees for food and other services. Substitutions are welcome. At-the-door registrants will
be assessed a $25 late fee. Please note hotel cancellation policy above.
If you have a disability that may affect your participation in this meeting, please send TBA a statement
regarding any special needs at least 10 days in advance of the meeting. We will contact you to discuss
accommodations.
