surrounded by music. Her mother was
an opera singer and classical pianist,
and her uncle was a recording engineer and musician. After graduating
from the University of Pennsylvania
she turned her attention to music and
song writing. Upon releasing her critically acclaimed EP “Mantra,” Sheri was
named one of Music Connection’s “Hot
100 Unsigned Artists” and went on to
Nashville where she co-wrote songs
with Grammy Award winning songwriter
J.D. Souther (The Eagles) and other hit songwriters. The Friends of the Library
are sponsoring this exciting performance. Free tickets are available at the Circulation Desk, with a limit of four per family.

Heroes to the End
Opera Comparisons
Wednesday, November 18th,
7:00 PM
Monday, November 30th, 1:00 PM
Dr. Mel Haber returns for another informative Opera
program. In popular music, some say that certain singers
“own” a song. As an example, man associate Judy Garland
with Over the Rainbow. However, other singers can in fact,
sing Over the Rainbow, and perform it well. In opera, the
same is true. In this session, you will hear a few famous arias,
each sung by two or three different singers. Members of the
audience will be asked to vote for their favorite singer of an
aria. Know that there are no correct answers. Individual opinions will differ, and are appreciated. Please register.
