Palestinian unity government goes ahead despite last-minute snags
Gaza, ALRAY - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas swore in a
unity government in a major step toward ending a seven-year rift
between rival factions Hamas and Fatah.
The two sides negotiated until the last minute on Monday over the
composition of the cabinet. Hamas demanded that Abbas reverse a
decision to remove the position of prisoner affairs minister from
the government.
85 thousand Palestinian students sit GCSE exams
Gaza, Al Ray - Around 85 thousand students throughout the Gaza
Strip and the occupied West Bank have sit the General Certificate
Secondary Education (Tawjihi) exams on Saturday morning, June
7.
Ministry of Education and Higher Education said in a statement
that “The number of the applied (Tawjihi) students of all streams
including the humanities, science, vocational totaled 85,597:
48,263 in the West Bank and 37,334 in the Gaza Strip, with the
female applicants making up 53%,”
641 exam centers were readied for the exam takers, including 459 in the West Bank and 182 in the Gaza Strip.

Gaza, ALRAY - „We have on this earth what makes life worth

Palestinian artist, Mohammed Zomar, lives in the al-Bureij refugee
camp in the Gaza Strip, uses his artistic sense to turn death tools
such as Israeli rockets and bombs' fragments into pieces of life,
hope and peace.
"What inspires me to do this idea is the scene of Israeli children writing names and phrases on the Israeli
rockets before being fired on the Gaza Strip; I wanted to bring life into these death tools," Mohammed said...
