The Red Deer Royals Concert and Marching Show Band:
the musical flagship of the Red Deer Community Band Society
Mission
Statement
The mission of the Red
Deer Royals Concert and
Marching Show Band is to
facilitate an environment
of musicianship, learning,
friendship and mentoring for
musicians and colour guard ages
12-21 of Central Alberta and surrounding
communities.
This band promotes musicianship, leadership,
teamwork, community service and pride.
The Red Deer Royals have developed into an
award-winning band performing and
competing for audiences locally and
internationally.
They are Central Alberta’s only Concert and
Marching Show Band.
The Red Deer Royals band program trains
young instrumentalists in the performance
of traditional and contemporary music in
concert, parades and field show.
The Red Deer Royals proudly execute the Red Deer
Community Band Society’s mandate to promote the City of
Red Deer by serving as musical ambassadors for our city,
the Province of Alberta and Canada.
The Red Deer Royals conduct numerous performances
throughout Alberta participating in parades in Red Deer,
Calgary, Edmonton, Rocky Mountain House, Sylvan Lake,
Canmore, Banff, Caroline, Rimbey, Ponoka, Blackfalds and
Lacombe.
The Red Deer Royals have performed and competed
internationally in Europe, Australia and Malaysia.
During the 2011/12 season, the Red Deer Royals performed 8 concerts, 16 parades, 11 standstill performances
and 8 field show competitions.
They have performed at the World Masters Games, the
Canadian Brier, the World Junior Hockey Championships,
the Scotties Tournament of Hearts and many other events.
The costs of operating a band of this size and stature are substantial.
The Royals seek your financial support
The Sponsorship program of the Red Deer Community Band
Society is tailored toward the operations of the Red Deer Royals
Concert and Marching Show Band. This group is our flagship
band and the one with greatest operating costs, yet the
band with the greatest visibility in our community and in
international venues.
Membership fees are set by the Board, with fundraising
opportunities available to the membership to offset the costs
of fees, attire, workshop, travel and touring costs. The Red
Deer Royals Concert and Marching Show Band also maintain
an Anonymous Fund to aid those members with financial
challenges to remain in the program.
It has been, and will continue to be, the policy of the Red
Deer Community Band Society to maintain a membership fee
structure that is both affordable and inclusive.
The youth of the Red Deer Royals gratefully
appreciate your consideration to financially support
their musical endeavours.
