To do so we need the expertise of GIFTED PROFESSIONALS in the following areas: architecture, finance, environmental issues, management, and green technology. Anyone from our Assembly of God churches who has the needed background and would like to serve the Lord on the board is asked to send a resume to the District Superintendent Dr. Duane Durst so that an interview time might be established. The Hills of Windsor Board of Advisors would also like to engage the services of a “Hospitality Consultant” to develop a business plan for the Hills of Windsor. Anyone who might have this professional background is asked to send a resume to the District Superintendent. The District Leadership Team is holding meetings in each of the Sections to hear from the pastors and church leaders as to the future of the New York District. After a short devotional, attendees are asked to fill out a questionnaire, share perspectives from a discussion and ask any questions concerning the District. In the early part of 2009, the remainder of the Sections will be visited. Be sure and attend a Vision Tour II meeting near you. This year’s theme is “The Intentional Woman”. God makes it plain that we can live an intentional life…one with profound meaning, clear direction, and eternal value. Information for planning your National Women’s Day service is mailed in December. If your church has not received the packet containing a program guide, offering envelopes, a sample bulletin cover and other theme-related items by January 15, call the National Women’s Department at 800-448-2235. (ha!) We didn't know how the Lord would fill our house and meet our physical needs. We needed a refridgerator, cars, beds, a printer, and many other things-right down to lawn mowers, shovels, and hand mixers. It wasn't long before WM Director, Linda Morrison, contacted us to give us a warm invitation to "shop" in the Blessing Shoppe. We, as you know, have a very large family-5 children. The needs list can go on ad-infinitum! We were able to get all our sheets, blankets, towels, and small appliances that we needed. We enjoyed the variety and top-quality that was afforded us. The beauty and newness of things here in the U.S. actually ministers to us! Sometimes you come back both physically and figuratively "tattered and torn." The provision and the beauty 'minister' to the worn-out missionary warrior. Trust us...we speak with experience after 22 years. Ladies, we think this verse describes you in your ministry to those in fulltime missions service: "You do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans." (3Jn: 6,7) YOUR reward will await you in heaven, as will ours. We are "your hands and feet" fighting on the front lines. You hold us up in prayer, you meet our needs, and we all work together for His name and kingdom to advance! Your servants, Revs. Tim & Debbie Anderson & children, NYD missionaries (since '86) VOLUNTEERS IN CORRECTIONS May the peace of the Prince of Peace fill your home as we celebrate His birth! We are grateful for your prayer and support of those taking His “Good Tidings” of peace to the incarcerated in NY. Thank you! On my way home from work on September 18th, my 2007 Chrysler minivan was struck by a drunk driver. God was so good! The other driver and myself were fine, but both vehicles were totaled. Grace House Buffalo has approximately 60 beds which are continuously full with a waiting list. The Board of Directors meets monthly to review progress and give oversight. Grace House Rochester has recently opened with a small number of beds. There is an exciting development in a Grace House Syracuse. God has raised up Michael and Jamie Santy with a passion to establish Grace House Syracuse! A Board of Directors has been identified and set, address, phone, and committees were created in an October meeting. As you have opportunity, please support the Grace Houses. They provide opportunity for ex-offenders to proceed toward the free world with Christian support and guidance. Please do not hesitate to contact your VIC Director with any questions. I grew up in a home with two parents who loved me. My sister and I chose to look for fun and acceptance with friends who chose to smoke weed. It soon escalated to a daily habit, and then to the point where I graduated to using harder drugs. I was in denial during my teen years. By age 21, my addiction was bondage, and I was powerless to overcome it. I got to the point where I severed almost every relationship that I had with my family. I cared only about my selfish needs. All during the time of my addiction, I had gotten involved in one relationship after another with guys—almost every one was an abusive relationship. Soon I was at the point of suicide. David Pilch, (right front), the Director of Syracuse Teen I had been introduced to church in my early teen years, but I never had a Challenge with some staff members. Teen Challenge celebrated 50 years of ministry in 2008 and the Syracuse personal relationship with Jesus. A graduate of Teen Challenge told me Center will begin their 35th year in 2009. Men were healed physically, spiritually, and financially. Friday night, Rev. Rich Catapano, the NY District Assistant Men’s Director, was named 2008 HonorBound Man of the Year. There were two speakers, Rev. Bob Reeves, and ex-pro football player Lee Rouson, and they spoke of serving a miraculous God. Steve Monez was introduced as the new NY District Royal Ranger Commander. Saturday morning there was an old fashion healing service. There were 80+ pastors with anointing oil up front laying hands on the sick. Many men were healed from all forms of bondage A special highlight was Wes Mills and Norm Bishop, Canadian Directors from Ontario, who addressed the men. We will be starting a Pan-American Men’s Fellowship between Ontario, Canada, and New York State. Prayer was given for both nations. Saturday afternoon the speaker, ex-pro football player Joe Jackson, talked about the seven ways for a man to lead a triumphant life. Joe spoke of men maturing in the Lord and taking their rightful place in the family, church, and the world. Men were touched by the power of the Holy Spirit and they filled the altar for ministry as God moved on their hearts. Colossians 1:28 Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ. He also played an instrumental role in coordinating the first Royal Rangers National Urban Leadership Conference, which was held in New York City. "My desire is to see every church in the New York District with an active Royal Rangers ministry," said Commander Monez. Royal Rangers leaders throughout the district are being asked to pray for 15 minutes each Thursday – pray for our outposts, churches and the families of our Royal Rangers commanders. Pray that this ministry will continue to reach, teach and keep more boys than ever before for Jesus. STEPHEN MONEZ [email protected] "I want to encourage every commander in our district to pray for the boys in our churches and communities; pray that the Royal Rangers ministry will serve as an effective evangelistic outreach for our churches. Our boys need to hear about God's love and the wonderful salvation we have through His Son Jesus." Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the devil's schemes - Ephesians 6:10-11. Steve and his wife Lynda have been married for 35 years. They have three sons and four grandchildren. Royal Rangers GMA Project Helps Local Assembly Expedition Ranger Gary Alaimo of Outpost 99 (Bethlehem Assembly of God) recently completed all the requirements for the Royal Rangers Gold Medal of Achievement, the highest award a boy can receive in the Royal Rangers program. One of the requirements of the GMA is to participate in a community and church service project. Gary organized a work team to assist the Medford Assembly of God with a weeding and landscaping project at the church’s new facility. All the work was completed in time for Pastor’s Appreciation Day on Oct. 26. Gary and the other workers did an outstanding job in making the church grounds into a beautiful and inviting place for members of the community to come hear the Gospel and worship the Lord. "I have learned a lot in Royal Rangers, camping skills and activities, earning Bible merits and most of all learning about Jesus. I know I would be a different person if it wasn't for Royal Rangers," said Gary.
