Specifications
Met Ocean Buoy
WatchMate™ is a rugged, lightweight
environmental monitoring buoy that
can be built using multiple hull sizes
and superstructure options to meet
specific requirements.
The superstructure is fitted with a
solar panel array, navigational marks
and lights as well as mountings for
meteorological sensors, payload and
telemetry hardware. The aluminum
substructure of the WatchMate™
hull houses the WatchMan500™
controller, solar rechargeable
batteries and TRIAXYS™ Directional
Wave Sensor. Additionally, the
buoyancy ring has been retrofitted
with easyto-service moonpools used
to house downward facing current
profilers and/or
in-situ water quality sensors.
The WatchMate™ can be outfitted
with a wide range of sensors for
monitoring weather, air, water
quality, waves and currents, among
other parameters, in coastal areas,
lakes, reservoirs, and rivers.
