more. On the first Friday of
every month from 7pm onwards,
some of the North East’s most renowned
musicians take to the floor with the best in
traditional and modern jazz classics.

Andrea Devere
Friday 4th April and 1st August
Andrea is an experienced solo saxophonist
who has been working in and around the
North East music scene for nearly 20 years,
following several years touring the UK with
various bands.
Andrea plays a selection of jazz standards,
swing classics and more popular easy
listening tunes displaying her tasteful, lyrical
improvisation skill.
Her solo jazz set comes with full musical
backing and oozes sophistication and culture.

Justin Radford
A professional musician with more than
10 years’ experience of classical, jazz and
pop music, John has played at some of the
world’s most prestigious venues. He has also
performed with some of the music industry’s
most prestigious names, such as Ruby Turner,
Mark Knopfler and Lindisfarne. John is also
the regular trumpet player in the Sunday for
Sammy concerts.
From the moody and evocative to swinging
and upbeat, Grace’s smooth, earthy tones,
provide the audience with an experience that
is sassy, seductive and distinct. Grace’s song
list is firmly rooted within the Great American
Songbook, with blues, Latin and some pop
standards thrown in for good measure
Having performed extensively throughout
Europe and Asia as a solo jazz pianist, John
is now based in the North East. His extensive
repertoire covers all the jazz greats and
his performances have wowed audiences
throughout the world.
Justin has been playing jazz for more than
20 years and is a familiar face to North East
music fans of all ages. Not only is he a regular
member of the star-studded cast at the
Sunday for Sammy shows at Newcastle's City
Hall, but he has also shared the stage with
Mark Knopfler several times, most recently at
the celebration concert for Sir Bobby Robson
at the Sage, Gateshead.
