SKATEBOARDING
Nelsen doing a some
dumb grab trick at The
Ditch of Doom. At first
I was kind of bummed
that you can see my
silhouette in this
frame, but I dunno, I
got over it.

at The Ditch of Doom.
At the start of these URBAN SKATE SESSIONS some prep work
is usually required. Because we never plan ahead we didn’t bring
a broom, thus branches and the sides of our shoes are utilized. If
you look closely you can see me not helping anyone
and taking a picture instead. Photography, right?
A few weeks ago I got the idea to try a triptych. There’s lots of
purple stuff in my house (contrast wall, Jazz shirts, the whole of
my roommates t–shirt wardrobe) so I figured I’d shoot three things
with purple as the theme.
Anyway, since this is in black & white you can’t tell, but believe me
when I say that: this project turned out really mediocre.
I woke Trace up to pose for some purple themed photos.
Trace is always stoked
to help me out with art
projects.
PURPLE TRIPTYCH
Later I hung out with Allison.
This pharmacy is purple. Or for
you out there in black & white
zine land, darkish gray.
Trace starts the day out right with a smoke.
Then we went to a park. My
search of purple things had
kind of petered out at this
point. Not a lot of purple in
nature.
And a yawn.
Allison stood by this picturesque tree and looked down in a similarly picturesque manner. I should have taken a few more shots
ere, I never quite nailed it.
I saw a puppy at the park. Even though it looks like I’m trying to
kill him, I’m not. His name had something to do with motorcycles, I
forget what though.
SKATEBOARDING AGAIN
Trace taking out the bearings of my new Myrtle deck to put in
squeakier and arguably worse bearings. (I don’t know ether.)
When Trace sees this photo he’s going to complain that he looks
funny or that he’s got long legs or his feet look really big or somthing similarly lame. Listen, Trace: 1. No you/they don’t. 2. I don’t
care.

at the
Orem
Park.
This looks a lot worse then it was. He kicked out his board pretty
quick, he was only in danger for a second, but damn.
If you ever see this guy in the woods, he’ll probably grant you
three wishes. Or kill you.
Nelson and Trace share a smoke after a hard day of watching
Nelsen skate.
IN THA NATURE
If you see Trace in the woods he wont grant you three wishes.
Well, he’s never granted ME three wishes.
MISSION FAREWELL
Kimi’s brother left on a mission last Wednesday, here’s her being excited that I brought my camera. Or something. I really can’t
remember.
Anyway, look how stoked she is, it doesn’t really matter why.
Dad knows what’s up.
At Ryan’s farewell I made a very important discovery. If you make
taking a picture the punchline of a joke, you can get like 20 photos
of people laughing.
FIXING MY BIKE
I went to my parents house to have my dad show me how to work
on my bike.
AWARENESS
On the way home from the library I noticed a group of people holding signs in front of the tabernacle.
ABOUT
I try to bring a camera with me wherever I go, so Love City is a
visual journal of my month.
There is also a website with the same name as this zine. It’s my
photography blog. If you like this, chances are you’ll like that.

Don’t read to much into the title, as far as I know, Provo is not
called “Love City”.
I shoot portraits, bands and wedding stuff. If you’re a person, band
or are getting married check out my portfolio at http://trevorchristensen.com. Contact
me at [email protected] or (801) 669–6652.
You should make a zine. It’s a lot of fun. My friend Nate makes a
zine called Music That Doesn’t Suck. Look for it. OR go to musicthatdoesntsuckzine.blogspot.com. But look for a physical copy if
you can, it’s much for fun then using the intrawebs.
I spoke to a woman for about 10 minutes about the cause they
were representing. She told me they were a group raising awareness (as opposed to protesting) for the rights for nontraditional
families.
I listened to a lot of Phillip Glass while making this. Specifically
Mishima, A Closing on the album Kronos Quartet plays Phillip
Glass
If you find any spelling/grammatical errors, keep them to yourself. I
don’t care.
Thanks for reading.

Nothing says urban style like tagging “HIP HOP” in an abandoned
building. Complete with arrows and a crown. Represent P–Town
bromies.
