Introduction
Icona Shanghai
Located in Shanghai, Icona is the ideal partner of the Chinese automotive
industry for new vehicle development.
Founded in early 2010, ICONA Shanghai brings together some of the
best European design, engineering, modelling and prototyping
experience in the automotive sector for the benefit of its customers in
China and Asia.
Through its integrated partnership with sector leaders Tecnocad Progetti
and Cecomp located in Turin (Italy), Icona Shanghai offers complete
range of services for vehicle development, including styling, engineering,
manufacturing of style models, show cars and prototypes.
Our Founders
The Roots
The roots of the company are located within the Turin area, Italy,
where worldwide recognised facilities and automotive knowhow are concentrated,
from designers to manufacturing companies, from equipment manufacturers to
universities and research centres.

Introduction
Icona Shanghai can offer top quality services based on the wide
range of experiences brought by its founders.
Dr. Teresio Gigi Gaudio: he brings to Icona more than 40 years of
invaluable experience in the management of multinational
companies.
Tecnocad Progetti S.p.A.: founded in 1986 and located in Turin,
brings a strong know how in the engineering of the complete
vehicle.
Cecomp S.p.A.: founded in 1978 and located in Turin, brings
decades of experience in manufacturing of style models, show
cars and prototypes.
Mr. Samuel Chuffart: Design Director of Icona, he brings
exceptional international experience developed working with
some of the most recognised car manufactures.

Management
Dr. Teresio Gigi Gaudio
A top manager with a long and successful career, which has managed several
Italian and multinational companies, with a wide experience on Far East.
His valuable experience has been developed in more than 40 years of activity
with key positions:
- C.E.O. of Stile Bertone S.p.A., a leading company in Design and Engineering of Automotive products;
- C.E.O. of FIAMM S.p.A., a world leading company for production of horns and accumulators,
with 12 plants (Europe, USA, India, China, Brazil) and more than 500 Million EUR turnover;
- C.E.O. of Aprilia S.p.A., at the time the second motorbike maker in Europe, with over
500 Million Euros turnover and 4 production plants;
- President and C.E.O. of Waste Management Italia S.p.A., which was the leader in Italy for the waste
treatment and environmental solutions, with more than 320 Million EUR turnover;
- C.E.O. of Coeclerici S.p.A., a leading company in Italy for integrated logistics (sea bulk
transportation,port logistic and coal and iron ore trading), with a turnover of about 300 Million EUR;
- Deputy General Manager of Italstrade S.p.A. (IRI Group), at the time it was among the leaders in
Europe for the construction of infrastructures (roads, bridges, dams, etc.);
- C.F.O. of Impresit S.p.A. (Fiat Group), leading Engineering and Construction company;
- C.F.O. of Ercole Marelli S.p.A., in the field of E/E and instrument parts;
- C.F.O. of G.T.E. Telecomunicazioni S.p.A., the Italian branch of G.T.E. USA.

Our Founders
Design
Mr. Samuel Chuffart
Samuel Chuffart, a French citizen, brings exceptional international experience to
ICONA Design. After attending Art Center College of Design in Switzerland and
USA where he began his career with Nissan Automotive. In his eight years with
Nissan, he spent time at their studios in Munich, London, Detroit and California.
Mr. Chuffart was directly responsible for several highly acclaimed design
concepts and production cars for Nissan ranging from small cars such as the
Micra to large iconic cars like the Crossbow concept as well as large sedans
cars and 4WD seen with the Nissan Altima 2010 and X terra 2009.
With this significant track record he was instrumental in the creation and
realisation of the Nissan DNA which is known today. After eight years within
Nissan, Mr. Chuffart moved to Jaguar- Land Rover where his talent was
immediately utilised for the creation of the next generation L405 Range Rover.
As Chief designer of Stile Bertone Mr. Chuffart has garnered experience in
China achieving with success numerous design projects soon to be seen on the
roads of China.

Electric Vehicles
Applications
Icona can cover 3 approaches in developing electric vehicles. Each
approach includes specific activities that Icona can offer according to
client needs
Add-on
Replacement
New
Add-on
Mild or full parallel hybrid solutions can be obtained with no or
minimal change to existing vehicle layout. This application allows to
have few differences with existing thermal power-train vehicles, which
is interesting for the aftermarket or end-of-line solutions.
Replacement
Original engine/transmissions are replaced with a hybrid or electric
power-train of equal or lower power using the available volume of an
existing vehicle.
New
Future vehicles may be designed taking the full advantage of hybrid
or electric power-train for completely new vehicle layouts with
significant space usage.
