Beatrix is a New York City based company devoted to making cool,
contemporary stuff for kids. Their products combine a childlike love of
whimsy and imagination with a grown-up sense of modern design and
style. You’ll find their adorable range of original characters on products
made with a focus on simplicity, quality, and fun. Beatrix aims to design
products that kids love and builds them so that the love lasts.
Beatrix products are sold around the world at hundreds of high-end
boutiques and department stores. The brand has become a favorite of
celebrity parents. David & Victoria Beckham, Halle Berry, Katie Holmes,
Britney Spears, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Meg Ryan, and Tobey Maguire are
just some of the celebrities who have bought Beatrix products for their
children.
Beatrix was founded in 2008 by Claire Theobald and Marcus Woolcott.
Claire is a mother of twins and has masters degrees in both graphic
design and architecture from Yale. Marcus is an award winning creative
director who has worked for advertising agencies in New York, London,
Hong Kong, and Tokyo.

Meet some of our employees!
Alexander. Most robots just
waddle about on mechanical legs
or roll around on caterpillar tracks, but
Alexander was built with rockets so he
can soar through the sky! To be honest though, he hasn’t
actually soared much higher than 3 feet so far (he’s more of a
hoverer really). But he’s just being cautious. Flying takes a lot of
practice. If you do it wrong you can give yourself a pretty nasty
dent. He’ll be rocketing through the clouds soon, but as everyone is always telling him; you’ve got to hover before you can fly.
Percival. A strict
low-carb diet has kept him
looking young and trim, but
Percival is actually one of our
oldest employees. He’s been
around since the Cretaceous Period, which was over
60 million years ago. He’s lucky because he’s had lots and lots
of birthday parties. Unfortunately, his parties have become a
logistical nightmare because of the immense number of
candles needed for his cake.
Papar is very fond of getting
her way, in fact she insists on
it. And her demands can be
quite specific. She wants her
tree to have blossoms and
leaves, but no pointy twigs.
She needs to have a high
branch with a good view,
but it mustn’t be too
drafty. She requires
at least eight hours of sleep,
and absolutely must not be woken up before 5pm
(she’s a night owl). If she gets what she wants, she’s
one of our nicest employees, but if she’s denied...
out come the claws!
Penelope loves to explore. She’s
always off investigating new caves
and crevices in the reef and coming
back with odd little objects to show
everyone. Our other employees
are amazed by her
ability to squeeze through
even the tiniest holes.
But as she explains to
them, she has eight arms
and no bones so she’s
extremely flexible.
When she’s not out
exploring you can find
Penelope at the local gym
teaching yoga.
