What is Deduct-A-Buck?
Deduct-A-Buck is a program used by credit unions to raise money for political action
committees that make wise investments (political contributions) with their credit union
members’ donations. These donations help elect and re-elect pro-credit union
candidates to Congress.
Truliant Federal Credit Union member-owners are asked to consider a voluntary
contribution of $1 or more per quarter from your savings or checking account for the
Truliant Federal Credit Union Political Action Committee.

Why is it important to participate in Deduct-A-Buck?
We are at a critical juncture in the financial services industry; credit unions are a viable
and important option for consumers that we want to preserve and grow. As the current
economic and legislative environment unfolds, it is vital to have Congressional
representatives that understand the value that credit unions present to working families.
Deduct-A-Buck, like credit unions, is based on the grassroots concept of people working
together at the local level.

How do our member-owners participate in the Deduct-A-Buck program?
Simply complete the automatic account deduction form located on the back of this
pamphlet. Please detach, fold, seal across the top with Truliant Federal Credit Union’s
address showing and drop it in the mail (no postage necessary).

Throughout history, credit unions have been providing millions of Americans a place to save,
grow and plan for the future. Credit unions are different because as a member you are also an
owner - it’s your credit union.
Banks have been fighting to weaken credit unions by trying to enforce corporate income
taxes on us to limit our ability to provide low-cost services. Bankers and their trade
associations contribute much more money to congressional candidates than credit unions.
The Decuct-A-Buck program gives millions of credit union members a voice in the political
process. Based on the simple premise that if we all give a little, it will add up to a lot;
Deduct-A-Buck is a grassroots movement.

continue to fight to preserve your right to belong to a credit union and enjoy benefits you
have as a result of membership.
