PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
April was a great month for New York X guys who came out to ride and have
a great time. This year New York X had a record turnout for Cardillo with
37 members and 9 guests. The Car Show had 14 members with 6 guests. 3
members participated in the NY 1 Bike Blessing and SOD Special Ops
Memorial at Floyd Bennett Field had 12 members and 3 guests. 7 couples
went to the NYXVI dance and 20 members with 2 guests rode to have lunch
and stop to see the cars at Captree and Suffolk Community College.
For both April meetings we needed to stretch the walls because our attendance
was overflowing. Spaghetti night, what can I say, plenty of people were
going home with sauce stains on their shirts. Oh! Wine and Italian bread;
Chet hit a home run with spaghetti night. I also want to thank Bill Hess for
donating homemade wine on spaghetti night and Sam Sampogna for donating
the homemade wine we raffled off at the following meeting.
In May we have a lot going on beginning with the Saturday, May 5 FOP
Memorial dedications. This year we have NCPD, ATF and NYPD Officers
who were killed in the Line of Duty being added to the memorial. KSP for
the FOP is 0930 Hrs. We also have a new ride, Eaton’s Neck; this will be a
great ride, see the details under this month’s rides and events.
If you have any questions about upcoming rides you can always check the
hotline or webpage for updates. Bob and Jeff put a lot of work into keeping
everyone informed.

NY X CHAPTER NEWS
Our 7th. annual Officer Cardillo Remembrance Ride was a huge success, we have to thank John
Malandrino for all his work putting the Cardillo Ride together. Every year John steps up and all we
have to do is show up, Thank you John for a job well done.
This year Jeff Skya did an outstanding job photographing the ride and posting it on our website and
Facebook. Besides taking all the pictures it took Jeff several hours to post all of them for us to
enjoy. For those of you who do not belong to Facebook Jeff has been getting huge kudos from Blue
Knights around the world for his designee and posting on Facebook. Hopefully this will spread the
word about Cardillo and our support will be growing.
We have so many great pictures from the ride I added a supplement to the newsletter.
Our Chapter was at Blue Knights New York XVI Dinner dance and thankful Jeff was not there so we
only have limited evidence as to what happened. Let’s leave it at we taught the Secret Service how
to party.
TRI-STATE CONFERENCE NEWS
By Tristate Conference Secretary Guy Cook
Spring, now is that not the best time of the year? Nature renewing itself, the snow is gone, and
there is a whole new riding season to look forward to. We have been blessed with a warm winter,
so many of us have been riding long before the calendar said it was spring. Don’t be one of those
riders who misses out on the spring riding season. Take advantage of the weather while you can
and ride. Ride with your Brother and Sister Knights, or just get out there and ride by yourself. It
is more fun to ride with Brother and Sister Knights, but the idea is to get out there and ride while
the weather allows it. With the price of fuel being so high, it makes sense to take advantage of
the low cost of operating your iron horse for many of your daily transportation needs. No matter
what your reasons for riding may be, enjoy the ride!
The following information is directed at members who will be traveling to Washington, DC in May for Law
Week. As many members will want to visit the FOP (Fraternal Order of Police) Tent City to meet up with
other Law Enforcement Officers and shop the many vendors located there, you should know that the location
has been changed. It is now going to be located at 1880 2nd St SW, Washington, DC. This location is a few
blocks from the Washington Nationals Stadium and is no longer within walking distance from the Law
Enforcement Memorial.
Pat Maurice has agreed to take over the position her husband, Paul, held. Pat is now our BLUE KNIGHTS
TSC NY State License Plate Coordinator. Pat helped Paul run the position of Coordinator for many years and
is very experienced with the ins and outs of being a coordinator for this special BLUE KNIGHTS program. We
all thank you Pat and we welcome you aboard.
That’s all for now! Everyone ride safe and keep the BLUE KNIGHTS Fraternal Spirit burning bright. See you
at the TSC Spring Meeting.
Let’s all continue to: “Ride with Pride.”
