Ron Gursky has been teaching social dance
for more than 40 years. He started his studio,
Rugcutters’ Dance Studio in Watertown, MA, in
1982 and currently teaches there as well as at
the Cape Cod Dance Center in Cataumet, MA,
and the Portsmouth Ballroom Dance Studio in
Portsmouth, NH.
Nancy Murphy, whose early dance experience was in ballet, tap, and jazz, began teaching partnered dance in 1989. She currently
teaches at several Boston-area studios, including Rugcutters Dance Studio, Wilmington
Dance Academy, Marblehead School of Ballet,
and Brookline Adult and Community Education.
New Workshop Format This Year
Like last year, this year’s workshops will offer three dances. Unlike last year, each dance will be
taught at two different levels, with both levels held during the same time period in different
rooms. The levels are:
Beyond Basic is appropriate for dancers who have one to three years’ dance experience with a
solid understanding of the basic steps and lead-and-follow techniques.
Intermediate Plus is appropriate for dancers who have four or more years’ dance experience.

Walk-ins are welcome! Prepaid reservations are not required, but if you want to make
sure you get into the workshops and levels you prefer, reservations are a good idea.

From off-Cape: Go over the Sagamore Bridge, stay on rte. 6 for about 19 mi to exit 8 (Union St., Yarmouth/Dennis).
From exit 8: At the end of the ramp, turn south on Station Ave. Go 0.4 mi to the second set of lights, turn right. Go
0.6 mi, turn left onto Forest Rd. The Center is 0.1 mi on your left.
