Our Main Drinks Range
Our 10 pumps are getting well used with yet another great beer festival
in February and another being planned for later in the year. Once again
we had some great National Beers alongside some great South East
Beers.
All served with loyalty stamps and double stamps on cask beers.
Regular beers travelling through our 10 pumps this quarter include Directors, Old Peculiar, Hastings Blonde, Mama Knows Best with regular
sightings of Theakstons, Caledonian, Longman and other Hastings beers.

The winter in house knock out is well under way with the first rounds
nearing completion (at the time of print). Entries were via the loyalty card
scheme and the Grand Winner will receive £75.00

Cider in The Jenny seems to be getting more popular and we have consequently extended our range. We now sell Bulmer’s Fruit, Old Moat Fruit
from New Zealand, Strongbow, Symondsand regular guest appearances
of Cask Ciders from throughout the UK
The second tournament this year in The Hastings Bar Billiard league is
going extremely well and as you can see below, after the 18th February
2015.
The Jenny Lind are top of the tree with 26 points.

The add on promotion to our loyalty card collector, ‘Doubloons’ was
launched on January 1st, with many regulars qualifying to buy T Shirts,
Toffees, and pairs of very desirable glasses. Breakfast or afternoon tea
were also offered in exchange for 10 Doubloons. Some regulars even
traded them to book our Scalextric for themselves and some mates.

We at the Jenny Lind have passed on the chancellor’s duty 1p reduction
over the past two years. You never know, if the Chancellor continues to
reduce the duty, and the duty reduction eventually reaches 10p, we will
still pass it on but wonder if our customers will still complain!

Hastings Old Town
Festival of Speed
The track was completed in time for the launch of this great event which
took place on 3rd January with key locations incorporated. The Keith
Leech MBE Grandstand, The Ian Porter BEM Clock tower even Dee Days
yard for spare parts. The event was attended by local key dignitaries,
petrol heads from throughout the UK and some motoring press associates nearly made it. The pace was set by The Jenny Lind’s very own Stig
with a lap record of 12.29 seconds over the 114 ft. track. As the rubber
went down and the heat went up this gradually became faster. 167
guests took part over 21 events, many for charity. All enjoyed the various
racing sessions and many returned to play 2 or 3 times. All in all a fabulous month of fun with a great finale of our very own ‘Race of Champions’. Starting with a Juniors Event followed by the seniors. Peter Mason
won the final race with a lap time of 9.7 seconds followed by Tom
Herrington who came second but managed the all-time lap record of 9.4
seconds. Rest assured our Scalextric is packed away ready for some external corporate bookings and will be coming out to play at The Jenny
Lind next January with the base being extended by 12.5 square feet and
6 brand new cars.
