About the AWARDS GALA
CAMSC’s Annual Business Achievement Awards celebrate the
outstanding innovation, successes and entrepreneurial drive of
Aboriginal and minority businesses. This exclusive event also
recognizes Canadian corporations who are leading the way in
diversifying their supplier base to reflect their local community and
customer base.
Privately led, and founded by industry leading corporations in
Canada, CAMSC facilitates access for Aboriginal and minorityowned suppliers who may not previously have been able to
penetrate traditional corporate supply chains. In return through
CAMSC’s programs, corporations gain choice, innovation,
competitiveness and social license by accessing an underutilized
yet growing supplier base in their communities. As a result, in
boosting employment levels, trade and competitiveness, Canada’s
economy flourishes.

The HOST
The
KEYNOTE
Mediwake's prominent roles include: CBC's local, national and
international news coverage; from Jack Layton's state funeral to The
Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton from London and
their Canadian tour. Prior to joining CBC, Mediwake co-anchored
Global Television's Toronto flagship newscast. She helmed CTV's
Gemini Award-winning investigative current affairs show 21C and
reported for CTV's National News with Lloyd Robertson, Canada AM
and Newsnet. In 2004 Mediwake hosted Sri Lanka A Journey Home, a
network news documentary that gave Canadians unprecedented
access to the devastation after the Tsunami in her birth country of Sri
Lanka, including a rare interview with Tamil Tiger second-incommand S.P. Tamilselvan.
Michael “Pinball” Clemons
Renowned as one of pro football's most electrifying players, Toronto
Argonauts running back Michael "Pinball" Clemons was the CFL's alltime yardage leader. Pinball's tireless community involvement and
participation in countless charitable causes exemplify the qualities
he possesses, which are so rarely found in today's professional
athletes. He has used his superb leadership and communication skills
in his former roles of Coach and President of the Toronto Argonauts and now as the CEO of the franchise. In September 2008, Clemons
was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame. Currently
Vice-Chair of the Toronto Argos, Pinball hung up his jersey after 12
seasons to move directly into the position of Head Coach. He retired
with 12 all-time team records to his credit.
