2.About JAMA Standard Material Datasheet
In Japan, the automobile part manufacturers and the automobile manufacturers
have implemented the standardized investigation after discussions. After that JAMA
Standard Material Datasheet applied to investigations into substances of
environmental concern after October 1, 2006.
Implementation of the JAMA Standard Material Datasheet
-Requirements on reporting to the Japanese automobile manufacturers have been
standardized in line with the IMDS (Most of the automobile manufacturers have
implemented the IMDS to collect data. ).
- An introduced appropriate error checking function has made data more accurate.

Before filling the materials data, you should know the material definition in IMDS.
IMDS regulates that the material is homogeneous, not heterogeneous. It means that
plating steel is heterogeneous and has a few kinds of homogeneous materials. This
time you can understand IMDS material definition by the example of electroplating
steel SECC(JISG3313, if you don’t know JIS, see ISO5002).

Material composition of SECC
JISG3313 shows you that SECC is made from SPCC.
Steel (SPCC)
You can understand SECC has three kinds of homogeneous material.
Caution: Under the environment regulations related to the environmental load substances such
as End of Vehicles Directive (ELV), “the homogeneous material” is used as a basic unit when
evaluating the density of environmental load substances. Therefore, Zinc plating must be
separated into zinc plating and conversion coating such as chromate film. Zinc plating steel is not
considered as homogeneous material.
Notice : To avoid errors
You can’t enter SECC, because the Error check of JAMA sheet diagnoses that SECC is
an error.
Now you fill the Component materials (Material table) according to P.6.

click ’Row copy’ button twice.)
Do not enter the weight datum. Only the first cell(L-10 in this case) can
have the weight datum.
Important!
It has become possible to automatically enter the specified component data of JIS material related to metal and
plating. (Plating is industry standard values.) The material whose composition is assumed
to be “0.1 % and more” is
not registered even it is a JIS material. Therefore, entry method will be the same as conventional method.
Caution: Do not automatically enter the data of custom-made component of your own company (such as the change in
tolerance or addition of component such as cadmium). Instead, enter the data of your company.
Reference: In future, the material whose component data is specified in IMDS will be registered to this system to
globally link data to IMDS.

Notice : Errors caused in the portions data that has ‘A***’ node ID
All IMDS registered materials that have IMDS node ID cause NO errors. But some
materials that have ‘A****’ node ID cause errors because of above tolerance limits.
After JAMA sheet will be changed, ‘A***’ node ID s will be renamed IMDS node ID.
Errors will not be occurred.
So you can ignore this tolerance check error.
As you can see the coloring of substances, it is defined by IMDS and GADSL.
Please visit IMDS and GADSL WEB sites.

IMDS and GADSL define the substance classification as follows.
"P" - Prohibited in all applications
"D/P" - Prohibited in some applications and declarable in all other cases. Please review the
GADSL documents for more information.
"D" - Substance must be reported if the threshold limits are exceeded, however the
substance is not prohibited to be used in automotive parts.
GADSL changes the substance lists once a year every February. So JAMA sheet is
changed the substances list after the GADSL change.

You should read the Description sheet.
Information: Definitions of the words
Content of post industrial recyclate:
Usage rate (%) of a recycled resin or rubber material
(material category: 5.1/5.1.a/5.1.b/5.3/5.5.2) in the process(Example: Nonconforming
items resulting from injection molding)
Content of post consumer recyclate:
Usage rate of a resin or rubber material
(material category: 5.1/5.1.a/5.1.b/5.3/5.5.2) recycled in the market(Example:
Scrapped or damaged vehicles, seals, and other scrapped domestic appliances)
Polymeric part(s) marked:
Code of Polymeric marked on component or not
If the component is marked polymeric marking, supplier input "Y". If the component
is not marked, supplier input "N". In case of not marked for design and material
weight is under regulated weight, supplier can input "N/A".Recycling marked:
Code of Recycling marked on component or not
Depend on requestor direction, if the component is marked recycling marking,
supplier input "Y".
If the component is not marked, supplier input "N". In case of not marked for design,
supplier can input "N/A". Examples:
Polymeric mark is defined in ISO11469 "Plastics
