November is pie month!!
When you order pies from
Market Day, you get a great
deal, and you are helping your school. These pies are
delicious (yes—I have eaten many… Mr. P), and great to
have on hand to bring to upcoming holiday parties.
They freeze well! Order online by November 12 for
pickup November 15.
Did you know you can use your Illinois Link card to pay
for your Market Day order when you pick it up ? Now
you can support your local schools & enjoy great food at
the same time! (Limit $120 per order per month)
Another easy way you can help our
school is by cutting out the BoxTops
for Education you find on many of
your household products. Send
them to school, and Roosevelt gets 10 cents for
each box top submitted! We collect these all year,
so please start cutting/tearing them off of your
boxes and packages, start sending them to school,
and help our students. Thank you!!
UNIFORM REMINDERS
As the temperature changes and students dress accordingly, we wanted to
remind you about some of our school uniform requirements:
ONLY a white or navy blue shirt can be worn under the white
school uniform shirt.
ONLY a white or navy blue sweater or sweatshirt can be worn
over the uniform shirt.
Sweatshirts and sweaters should be crew neck or collared.
Hoodies are not permitted at school.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
RED RIBBON WEEK
Thank you for helping your child participate in Red Ribbon Week last
week and reminding them about the dangers of drug abuse. Along with
our daily activities, we had daily drawings for students wearing their ribbons,
and our student council had a red-ribbon themed Friday dance. Red Ribbon
month is over, but please continue reinforcing the message of staying drugfree all year long!

You are invited to a District-Wide
Family Math Night!
Roosevelt School will be observing a special denim day on
November 12. All students are eligible to donate $1 to
wear jeans, and the money goes to the GI GO Fund. For

this
fund,

support!
On November 19, 2014, District 148 will host an
exciting Family Math Night at each of our schools from
6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.! Students, parents, siblings, and
other relatives are invited to attend an evening of
mathematical fun which focuses on our K-5 Math
curriculum. The intent of Family Math Night is to
demonstrate how teachers engage students using the
Common Core math standards in the classroom.
Teachers are helping their students to strengthen their
mathematical application, problem solving, and
communication skills. Come out and participate with
us at your child’s home school as we demonstrate our
math strategies!
We appreciate your continued
support!
