KX design philosophy is simple: put mid-level to expert riders on the top
step of the podium – and that is what the KX450F does best. Engine and chassis
performance delivers what riders need to win. And complementing this dominant
performance, the KX450F is loaded with advanced technology and industry firsts
that give riders an even greater edge.

The holeshot advantage:
Launch Control Mode
The KX450F features a launch control system,
an industry first on a production bike. With the
simple press of a button, Launch Control Mode
activates a separate engine map that gets
you out of the gate with maximum traction in
slippery conditions.
The Launch Control Mode map retards ignition
timing in first and second gear, letting tires
gain grip in low-traction situations, allowing
the rider to focus on nailing the holeshot.
NEXT GENERATION
PNEUMATIC SPRING FORK (PSF)
NEW
The KX450F is the first mass-production
motocrosser to feature this next-generation
fork technology. Shock absorption duties are
carried out using pressurised air instead of
springs. Reduced weight, easier adjustability
and a wider setting range are some of the
advantages.
Easy Engine Tuning:
DFI Setting Data Selection
NEW uni-trak rear suspension
Instead of a single engine map, the ECU
features three. Adjusting engine settings to
suit conditions has never been
easier than with the DFI couplers.
Plug-and-play style system is quick,
easy and stress-free. Each of the 3 maps can be reprogrammed using
the optional KX FI Calibration Kit.
Linkage mounts below the swingarm for more
precise suspension tuning and a Kashima Coat
on the tank cylinder improves
action. Dual compression
adjustability offers a wide range
of tuning options. To achieve
maximum rear wheel traction,
extensive rider testing was
conducted to determine the ideal
linkage ratios and rear shock absorber damping
settings (which have been matched with the
new front fork).
NEW
MORE POWERFUL ENGINE
Increased performance at all rpm (especially
ultra-low to medium-rpm torque) thanks to a
revised piston crown and revised ECU settings.
Widely adjustable riding position
Being comfortable on your bike is crucial to delivering your best performance. Adjustable
handlebar and footpeg position allow riders to tailor their riding position to suit body size and
riding style.
Optional tie rod
allows riders to
lower their seat
height.
NEW
Slim RACE-FRIENDLY Rider Interface
Designed with rider ergonomics in mind, new
components offer the rider a slimmer new frame,
flatter tank-seat line, seamlessly integrated
bodywork and frame plus new handle grips creating a slimmer
riding position
making it easier
to move around.
