What are the prevailing trends for SPRING 2016?
A simple yet elegant look is what people are looking for
these days, combining traditional and modern elements
together. Wood, gold, copper and pastel shades define
welcoming and comfortable environments.
Complementary elements such as mirrors, side tables,
dressing tables and consoles add the touch of color that
enhance the whole collection.
Today’s main trends extensively draw from the 1970s
contrasts of colors as well as black and white prevail.
What is the must-have object of the new season?
One of the brands we represent, Minotti, invites us to
go beyond the traditional divide between exterior and
interior by imagining spaces that harmoniously succeed
one another. The indoor furniture blends in a sophisticated
and coherent way with the outdoor furnishing, as an
elegant reference set. The vintage is having a big comeback - one could decorate one’s home with « Provençal »
furniture.
Wallpaper has been out-of-date for a long time. What of it
in Spring 2016?
Wallpaper is making a big come-back, delimiting zones
with different atmospheres thanks to new textures and
colors. Geometric and flower designs can really completely
change a room.
Lighting can totally change the atmosphere of a room.
What are your suggestions to optimize the lights in our
home?
Lighting is fundamental to create the right atmosphere.
Chandeliers and ceiling lights are back and have an
important place in decoration, like in the latest collections
of Terzani, Porta Romana, and Flos e Fontana Arte…
What are the colors of the moment?
Minotti does not follow the predominant trends but offers
for quite some time now a wide array of colors of sober
colors that transcend time and fashion. For a romantic yet
bright home, we would suggest shades in pink or light
blue. We often get our inspiration from the shades used
in the latest fashion collections. For a modern home, dark
colors like dark woods would be a safe option.
