Desert Museum
Depart from and return to Manzanita or Canyon View Elementary
Come along with us as we venture off to one of Tucson’s famed locations...The Arizona-Sonora Desert
Museum! We will start our day with a hands-on lesson about desert reptiles. From lizards to tortoises and
snakes, meet the awesome reptiles of the Sonoran Desert. Compare their diverse strategies for movement,
defense, and feeding. Discover their unique adaptations to desert life. After our lesson, we will go on a selfguided tour to see the Sonoran Desert come alive. Bring a sack lunch and water.
Grades: PreK – 8

Caving Adventures
Caving is like hiking on all fours! This is an outdoor adventure you won’t want to miss! Spend the day exploring
the underground wonders of Peppersauce Cave. See cool cave formations, an underground lake, and shimmy
your way through the rabbit hole! Learn why it is important to protect these natural wonders. Please wear very old
clothes (you will get extremely muddy) and bring a flashlight, change of clothes, garbage bag, sack lunch and
water. Helmets and headlamps will be provided. Suitable for those with limited to moderate outdoor
experiences. Moderate physical exertion. No flat soled shoes permitted.

Friday, February 26
Movies and Bowling
Depart from and return to Manzanita or Canyon View Elementary
We’ll start our day at Bedroxx, where we’ll get one hour of bowling and one hour of arcade time, and finish
with pizza and a drink. Afterwards, we’ll head over to the theatre to watch the latest kung fu moves in the new
blockbuster Kung Fu Panda 3! Bring $7.25 if you want to purchase a kids’ snack pack at the movies.

Tanque Verde Falls Hike
Join us for a day of hiking in the desert. Explore the unique ecosystem of the Sonoran Desert to learn what
makes this area so special! This is a fun hike to pools and waterfalls in Tanque Verde Canyon. Wear your hiking
boots, bring lots of water and pack a lunch! Suitable for those with limited to moderate outdoor experiences.
Moderate physical exertion.
No flat soled shoes permitted.

Refund Policy: A 50% refund may be given up through the registration deadline of February 17.

release Community Schools and its associates of any financial and/or medical obligation which might be incurred. The following signature authorizes
the Catalina Foothills Community Schools to pursue any emergency measures for my child and it is my agreement to pay all costs of collections. The
