DYX Global Remote User Guide
-)To begin using the Diyixian dialer, double click the DYX Global Remote icon
located on the desktop.
This will take you to the DYX Global Remote Dialer screen.
From this screen the user can:
•
Enter user name and password
•
Select service type (Dial up or Local Area Network)
•
Select the phone number or a bookmarked Phone number
•
Select the modem or ISDN modem to use
•
Set the dialing properties
•
Connect
•
View the user experience

View the process log
•
Access help
1. User Name and Password
The username and password must be entered to the corresponding input boxes in the account section of
the Dialer main screen. Your user name and password are controlled by the IT department of your
company.
2. Select a Phone Number
To select a local phone number:

Click on the
¬
Choose Edit and then Phone Book from the menu bar,
¬
Click on the View/Change button located in the lower right side of the dialer screen.

From the Phone Book Screen there are 3 ways to select a number:
1.
By Country, City, State:
a.
Click in the circle next to By Country, State, City.
b.
Choose the Country, State and City which corresponds to your location by
clicking on the

icon on right side of the input boxes.
Select the number to use from the phone book located at the bottom of the Phone
Book screen.

Click OK.
By Area Code, Exchange Code
a.
Click in the circle next to By Area Code, Exchange Code.
b.
Enter desired area code and exchange code.
c.
Select the number to use from the phone book located at the bottom of the Phone
Book screen.
d.
Click OK

Please note that the listed numbers are suggested local numbers. Please
contact your local telephone company with any questions regarding potential
charges.

3. By Bookmark
Selecting the bookmark option allows you to use predefined set of numbers that are specific to
user or location. The main advantages of this option are allowing administrators or user to setup
local numbers for a travel location. It also allows for the dialer to roll through numbers in the
event one of the numbers is not working properly.

a. Editing the Bookmark
i. Select the Bookmark you would like to edit by name or select New to create a new
Bookmark for a user or location
ii. You have an option to add, modify, or delete the numbers in your bookmark by selecting
the specific button.

iii. To add a number to an existing bookmark or to create a new bookmark – click on Add
number and you will be taken to the phonebook screen where you will have an option to
choose a number by location or by area code and exchange.
iv. If you are choosing one number – highlight the number and click OK but if you would
like to choose a group of numbers – highlight all the numbers by pressing down CTRL
and mouse button.
v. Once the number(s) is chosen click OK and you will be taken back to the Bookmark
screen.

3. Set Dialing Properties

Click on the
¬
Go to Edit and then choose| Dial Properties from the menu bar
icon at the top of the dialer screen
From the Dialing Properties screen a user can:
•
Set the country/region which is being dialed from
•
Set the area code
•
Set the Area Code Rules
•
Set the number necessary for getting an outside line
•
Set the number necessary to disable call waiting
•
Choose either tone or pulse dialing
•
Set up the dialer to use a calling card

1. Enter the number to access the outside line
2. To set the number necessary to disable call
waiting use the drop down menu to select or
enter the number
3. Set the dial by choosing Tone or Pulse
4. Select the country you are calling from by
using the drop-down menu
5. Set the area code of where you are calling
from
6. Set the area code rule by using the
drop-down menu
7. To set dial properties to use a calling card to make a connection:
To add a new calling card and create an entry for a calling card:
a. Enter a name for new calling card
b. Enter the Access Number
c. Enter the Account Number
d. Enter the Pin Number
e. Use the buttons listed above to enter the dialing steps for making a call. Please note to
enter these steps in the exact order.

4. Connect
Once the user name and password have been entered and a number has been selected the user is ready to
connect.
To connect:
a.
Click the connect box on the right side of the Fiberlink Global Remote Dialer screen.
i. The status of the connection process is displayed in the Status box located at the bottom
of the Fiberlink Global Remote Dialer screen.
ii. The normal progression for a connection is:

Connection starting
¬
User name and password authentication in progress; please wait
¬
Uploading user experience data to the web
5. User Experience
To view the user experience log
¬
Click on the
¬
Go to View and then choose User Experience from the menu bar
icon located on the dialer screen

a.
Select the number of day for which you would like to view the user experience by
clicking on the
icon at end of the text input box.
b. User experience data will be display accordingly
c. Click Close to exit the User Experience Log screen
6. Process Log
To view the Process Log information:

Click on the
¬
Go to View and then choose| Process log from the menu bar
icon at the top of the dialer screen

7. Help
To review Help screen – please click on Help from the menu bar and choose Content, Index or Find
a.
There are three ways to navigate through the help screen; thru Contents, thru Index, and
thru Find
i.
Contents
¬
Click the Contents tab at the top of the Help Topics screen.
¬
Double click on the
icon view related topics.

Double click on the

icon to view specific help information.
Index
¬
Click the Index tab at the top of the Help Topics screen.
¬
Enter search terms in the text input box.
¬
Double click on desired topics below.
iii.
Find
¬
Click the Find tab at the top of the Help Topics screen
¬
Follow the prompts for the Find Setup Wizard
b. Press escape to exit help.
