THE COMPANY
GRIMEL s.r.l. – Headquarters
GRIMEL s.r.l. – Subsidiary
Grimel s.r.l is placed in the Triveneto core close to Pordenone and is a reality with its territorial presence since 1969.
First it was as one-man business founded by his Chairman Mr. Giovanni Perin; then since 1983 with the current corporate
name.
A deep excursus through the Grimel S.r.l. realizations would prove the high technical, qualitative and professional performance
level reached by the company during these years.
Just to mention, some of the most important sectors are :
- Industrial electrical installation (lighting, high power systems and electrical cabins)
- Electrical and thermal systems for civil and house building (living villages)
- Electrical and thermal systems for public and private service sector ( Bank Institute, hospitals, commercial centers)
- Electrical systems for public and private facilities (stadiums, gyms, indoor stadiums)
- Lighting systems for highways (outside and inside tunnels).
And some of the most important customers : Electrolux Professional, U.S Navy Government, Base USAF di Aviano, Maltauro,
C.M.R. S.c.a.r.l., Banca Popolare Friuladria, Cassa di Risparmio di Venezia, APS Energia, Cimolai, EmmeTi, Tex Giulia gruppo
Gabel, Gruppo Marcegaglia, Zoppas Industries, Gruppo Terex Comedil, Gruppo Bocchiotti, Emco Famup, SFS Intec, Fonderie
SA.BI., Habasit Group, ACC.
Grimel s.r.l places all fruits of its forty years experience in systems installation to photovoltaic sector’s disposal.
Photovoltaic installations enrich its already considerable store of experience.
Up today, Grimel s.r.l. remains inside the narrow circle of companies which supply a ‘turnkey’ service of high quality and
professional competence.
In this case Grimel s.r.l. makes it presenting a product of its own development and construction to designers and installers,
allowing them to satisfy the different installing situation they meet.
The ‘leitmotiv’ that has inspired the Company during all its development is : Quality first at all.
About photovoltaic sector, Grimel S.r.l wants to suggest - by this catalogue - a complete illustrative technical summary that
aims to help you in determining your most proper solution.
Grimel’s hope is to give the quality meaning of realizations and the idea of extreme dedication used to offer you an higher
product.
Gratefull for Your attention.

PRESENTATION
STRING TERMINAL PANELS
From our company branch dedicated to electrical
panels manufacture, has born a product directed to
the photovoltaic installation specifically:
 the String Terminal Panel.
The string terminal panel has the duty of connecting in
parallel strings of the photovoltaic field.
A terminal panel of a good quality has to provide for
each string :
- a disconnecting device
- a max current protection device
- a lock device for string reverse power supply.
Panel electrical characteristics haven’t to be a limit for
photovoltaic generator dimensioning.
In addition, panel manufacture quality has to
guarantee its duration during years, even under
aggressive environmental conditions (for ex. sun
exposure, sea environmental, etc.).
Our string terminal panel aspire to be a peak product
of this sector, having all necessary requirements
to present itself has a realization of high manufacture
quality and of high electrical performances.
Through all characteristics, we list the most important
in short :

AISI 304 stainless steel enclosures, with sheet
thickness 12/10

protection degree IP66

voltage rating up to 1000 VDC

rated insulation voltage 1000 VDC

string disconnecting

usage of ceramic fuses, specific for PV plants, size
10,3x38mm, for max string current protection

usage of block diodes with max reverse voltage of
2000 VDC

possibility of each string monitoring and system
supervision
In addition, a point of essential importance, which
results from production system elasticity
of our company is :

the possibility to customize the content of the
string terminal panels.
Based on customer requirements, it’s possible
to deliver panels with or without general field circuit
breaker, with or without overvoltage protection,
panels with a string number on request or even other
personalization (release coil on field circuit breaker,
negative polarity to ground, etc..).
Our technical office is always at Customer disposal,
both in giving further indications about our product,
and in giving any opinions on which is the best
configuration of Your system part included between
photovoltaic modules and inverters, analyzing the
technical and economical aspects too, in order to
reach the max costs optimization.

Hardware is composed by the SCH-01/A, SCH-01/B
and SCH-01/C multifunction electronic boards, able
to be installed into the string terminal panels.
Depending on their configuration, boards can acquire :
 current values of each string
 analogical signals (given through field detection
devices, such as solarimeters, anemometers, etc..)
 signals from probes Pt100 (temperature probes)
 states and alarms (from SPD, inverters, etc…)
In addition are available digital outputs, to command
control and alarm devices.
To complete our string terminal panels, guided
to serve photovoltaic systems, even of great
dimensions, cannot miss a device to monitor
the several strings of the photovoltaic generator.
From this observation, results the development of
I L I O S , an integrated hardware/software system
dedicated to control string current and more generally
to the acquisition and processing of all electrical and
environmental parameters which are the
characteristic of a photovoltaic installation.
Through the I L I O S system, the user can :
- displaying and analyzing the electrical
and environmental parameters of the photovoltaic
system
- Recording and notifying its eventual malfunctions.
The I L I O S system provides :
 an hardware proper for monitoring in field
of physical measurements and possible alarm
signals
 a software, proper for taking measurements
and alarms detected in field, following with their
processing and presentation to the user under
several formats (on video, on paper and/or
computer support).
Software is composed by a Windows® application
dedicated to process, display and record of all
information monitored in field through the SCH-01
boards.
Installed in a PC position , the software performs the
following main functions :
 displaying of electrical string and field measures
 displaying of electrical string and field measures
 notification of alarms coming from field
(mismatching) and from the several devices (SPD,
inverters).
