Its More Than Just Music...
Performing Stars of Marin promotes positive life and leadership skills for all of life’s many
“performances.” Founded in 1990, it is dedicated to providing county-wide youth and community
development services to low-income, primarily multicultural families, through art, music and other
cultural enrichment programs.
Executive Director, Felecia Gaston’s leap of faith, heart and best instincts created Performing Stars of
Marin by promoting community building and better citizenship. Understanding that having great visions,
comes the gathering of many individuals, collaborating with common goals and resources to sustain the
educational programs in San Francisco Bay Area communities. By grassroots organizing and leveraging
relationships, the Performing Stars team, has recruited music advisors, advocates and of course, many
friends all supporting quality music education in Marin County.

The Performing Stars Friends, play a vital role for the music program. Through donations, sponsors and fundraising efforts, their mission is
achieving excellence in support for teachers, academic programs, research, creative activities, events, performances, facilities, equipment,

to provide music classes and instruments for children in Marin County.

The Performing Stars Music Advisory Board, consist of music industry individuals advocating leadership positions; by providing
advice and counsel to the music program; and by generating new resources through personal giving and fundraising.
The Emmy and Multi-Grammy winner, Narada Michael Walden known as the
“Godfather “of Performing Stars has been a long standing supporter of Performing
Stars of Marin. The most recent act of kindness and support for music education
came from The Narada Michael Walden

snare drums, stands and sticks were
donated to the music program. In addition, Narada is providing an unforgettable
learning experience for the children of
Marin. This exciting contribution consist of
