AES Andres
AES Andres is a private port established
within the Dominican Republic for the
importation, storage and distribution of
Liquefied Natural Gas. It is situated at the
most outer SE tip of the Caucedo peninsula
to the south of the ports of Boca Chica and
Caucedo. It is an exposed berth,
unprotected from the Caribbean Sea. It is
also a first class LNG Jetty provided with
very modern equipment such as LNG
unloading arm arrangements, ESD system
communication links, marine laser ranging,
mooring load monitoring system, etc.
Anchorage: In protection of coral reefs,
anchoring is prohibited in the Andres Bay. It
is recommended that vessels waiting for
berth stay adrift in open waters to the southeast.
Tidal range and flow:
Mean spring range 0,32 m.
Mean neap range 0.18 m.
Current velocity at berth usually less than
0,9 knots and southerly.
Pilotage: Pilot and Harbour Master can be
contacted on VHF channel 16. Traffic at
Andres Bay is controlled from Caucedo Port
Control.

Restrictions: Every arriving LNG carrier is

Medical attention: Full medical attention is
available in Santo Domingo including
hospitalization-20 kms. away.
Garbage reception:
Consular affairs: Santo Domingo is the
capital city of the country and most nations
have some kind of representation there.
Airport: Las Americas International, served
by mayor international lines, is about 5 km..
away and has frequent connections to
European countries and with North and
South America, and may be conveniently
used for repatriation or joining of crew.
