PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
Dear Parents and Friends,
Welcome to another week of news from Heathcote PS!
THANK YOU TO THE FLEMING-BULLS
FAMILY FUN DAY
I would like to say a huge thank you to the
Fleming—Bull family who have very kindly offered
to mow our lawns and keep our garden beds
weeded and looking nice. They have done a
wonderful job over the last few weeks and I am
very appreciative of their efforts.
On Monday 4th November we will be holding our
annual Family Fun Day where our family members
will be invited to come along to school for the day
and participate in lots of fun activities with their
students such as Fashions on the Field, a Hat
Parade, and several different multi-age games and
races such as egg and spoon races, three legged
races, sack races and hobby horse races.
DATE CHANGE FOR PUPIL FREE DAY
Due to a change in the date of the Professional
Learning Session that all our teachers will be
attending, we have had to alter our planned Pupil
Free Day from 22nd October to 11th November.
Please note that children will not be required to
attend school on Monday 11th November.
An outline of the events and
proposed timeline will be sent home
next week. Please put some time

FAMILY STATEMENTS
Ambulance Cover
Families are reminded that the Education Department does not provide personal accident insurance or ambulance cover for students. Parents
and guardians of students, who do not have
student accident insurance/ambulance cover,
are responsible for paying the cost of medical
treatment for injured students, including the
cost of ambulance attendance/transport and
any other transport costs. These costs may be
recoverable from the Department where an
injury is caused by the negligence
(carelessness) of the Department, a school
council or their employees or volunteers.
Student accident insurance/ambulance cover policies
are available from some commercial insurers,
and can be obtained by parents/guardians for
individual students.
As part of our Sun Smart Policy we
require all children to wear wide
brimmed hats at school during Terms
1 and 4.
If your child does not have a hat with them at
school they will be required to stay under the veranda area and they will not be permitted to play
outdoors. Hats are available from the office for

SPACE EXPO
On Monday my mum drove me to
school. When I got to school we
had to set up for our space expo.
For the space expo we put sixteen
tables in a row. The two hosts were
Liz and Jordan. First we had Kody
and Riley with a word search.
Second were Grace and Kenz with
a poster on Uranus. Third was
Georgia with a Saturn poster.
Fourth was Eve with her diorama
space hotel. Fifth was Hayley with
her space solar system mobile.
Then it was Lachlan with Earth Q
& A cards. After that were Victor
and me with solar system Q & A
cards. It was funny when Victor’s
dad wasn’t getting the answers
right. Brady was next with his Mars
poster and then Jordan and Liam
with who wants to be a millionaire?
After that was Kenz, Georgia and
Liz with a dance. Then it was Grace
and Eve with a dance to the song
Rocket Man. Then it was Grace and
Eve with a dance to the song Star
Ships. Then it was the whole class
singing the song Rocket Man and
music of Rocket Man too. When it
was over everyone left the gallery
and went home.

On Friday the 10th it was the day to
finish our space work. I was doing
my Venus poster. I also wrote what
I was going to say. Venus is the
second planet from the sun. It was
named by the Romans after their
goddess of love and beauty.
On Monday the 14th of October we
had our expo. Mum was working so
Tammy came instead but then
suddenly mum was there which
made me happy.

On Monday at 2.00 pm Mr Morris’
class had a school expo at school in
the gallery. The parents had a look
at the tables with space info with Q
and A cards and much more things
were on each table.
Later on we had performances.
First we had Victor and Riley with
the word search.
After a few performances it was my
turn to go up with my q and a cards.
Jordan did q and a cards.
After that Jordan did a space word
search and then more q and a cards.
After that there were 2 dances.
Later we waited for a while for the
bell and went home.
I had a great time at the space expo.

ON MONDAY WE HAD OUR
SPACE EXPO. WE SET UP OUR
TABLES AND PUT OUR STUFF
UP. EVERYBODY HELPED
OUT. THE PLAN WAS TO
MAKE EVERYBODY WALK
AROUND TABLES AND LOOK
AT THE SPACE STUFF. NEXT
WE PERFORMED OUR SPACE
WORDSEARCHS, DIORAMAS
AND POSTERS. I PERFORMED
MY DANCE WITH GRACE.
WHEN WE WERE DOING OUR
INVITATIONS WE HAD TO PUT
THE DATE ON (MONDAY THE
14) AND TIME (2:00) AND
WHERE THE (GALLERY). LIZ
ANG JORDY WERE OUR
HOSTS.
BY EVE LILY BEEDLE
On Monday at 2:00 pm I stood outside the
galley handing out pamphlets to the
parents so they would know what time
each act was. When everyone was inside
they walked around to look at the kids
work. First up was Kody and Riley with
their interactive word search. They asked
people to come up and find words. Alan
Buttter had to find a new word because
someone stole his word. Next was Makenzie and Grace with stuff about Uranus they
couldn’t help but laugh. Later on Liz,
Makenzie and Georgia with their dance to
Rocket Man. After that Grace and Eve did
their dance to Starships. Both groups were
really good. Then Jordan and Liz said
thank you for coming and said good bye
parents were welcome to stay and have a
another look around at the kids stuff. I
really enjoyed the space expo. I thought it
was really fun.
