Editor’s Letter
The Holidays are almost
here! We’ve already started
decorating our homes and offices and of course, tackling
the shopping. One of the best
things about the Holidays is
choosing beautiful gifts for
friends and family (and finding a gorgeous palette or two
for ourselves to celebrate our
achievements!). There are so
many amazing deals, value
sets and gifts-with-purchase
making it easy to get lost with
the variety and choice, but
we’ve made it easy for you.
Follow our gift guide to help
you choose the best beauty
presents for your loved ones,
picked out by beauty industry insiders and beauty bloggers.
You want a truly special party
look? Why not try re-creating

the looks from this year’s
most gorgeous beauty promo
photos? Read the low down
on how to get those looks.
Holidays are a great time of
year to be adventurous with
a bold, red lip, but consider
experimenting with other
dramatic shades, too. How
about deep wine, hot fuchsia
or sultry plum lipstick? We
all know what a new lipstick
can do, so make sure you
treat yourself to a truly luxurious one for this Holiday. It
could be Chanel or Armani,
but how about Tom Ford or
Serge Lutens for a highly pigmented luxury look?
Of course, you can’t be party
perfect without a beautiful
manicure. In this issue we
have an interview with Nonie
Creme, Creative Director of
one of our favourite nail polish brands, butter LONDON.
Read her tips on applying
nail polish, seasonal trend
shades and a sneak peek on
whats coming for Spring!
As usual on the last page we
publish our current beauty
obsession – this time it’s the
edgy and brilliant Ellis Faas!
Happy shopping and enjoy
your holidays!

4 HOLIDAY/2010
What colours in nail polish
would be popular for this holiday season? What nail polish
trends do you think will be
popular in the next seasons?
We are celebrating the holidays
with a selection of metallics.
Metallic lacquer feels festive,
but more sophisticated than
say, glitter or just plain red.
Look out for them now: Fairy

going fast! S/S 2011 has a distinctly retro feel, and I think our
customers are ready for moderately colourful nails again after
many seasons of “greige”. We’ll
be showing a whitish, bubblegum pink, a cobalt blue, and
a molten metallic apple green
amongst others. GORGEOUS!
What is butter LONDON’s
best selling nail polish? What
is your personal favorite? What
shade would you recommend
to someone who is new to the
company?
Our all time best seller is
“Yummy Mummy”. It’s an elegant, opaque beige that suits absolutely every skin tone, and in
fashion year in, year out. It’s my
top recommendation to anyone

Knees Up, a show-stopping
metallic red from our holiday
selection.
What kind of shade would you
like to create? What was the
most unique nail polish colour

around the world. We are online

gave me a good grounding both
in understanding cosmetic formulas and also in understanding
how the needs of women differ
depending on their ethnicity.
Zuneta is unique in that we take a

What do you like the best about
the beauty industry?
I find the beauty industry very exciting because not only is it glamorous and sexy, but also a serious
and viable business opportunity.
I get the right balance of mental
stimulation and fun in my working day! I love how we are able to
make women feel when we match
them with the right products. It is

feels beautiful both on the inside

To be completely honest, I felt
very uninspired by the makeup
collections so far this year as a
whole. However, there have been
a few must have items in my
opinion. First and foremost, this
season we saw Urban Decays
Naked Palette, which to me is absolutly essential and if I had only
one palette to use for the rest of
my life...this would be it! I also am
loving the new gold eyeshadow
from NARS, Estrusque. Lastly, I
am loving is the Illamasqua four

I'll be very boring and predictable and say deeper,
more berry-toned hues for
lips and cheeks and greys
and purples for the eyes,
which work very well with
my pale complexion and
dark brown irises. I'm also
partial to a bit more shine

for a holiday look involves
some neutral brown shades
for the eyes with a touch of
gold shimmer above the

and I also like Becca's Fallen
Angel collection (the eye palette
and the new Pewter Eye Tint in
particular). The Shu Uemura

completely different on the outside but it's adorable, the palette
with browns and golds is lovely
and the little lip pots with red,
pink and apricot are all very versatile (a stain and gloss) and
wearable (on my Christmas

And, the shimmering gold lipsticks in "No. 34 - Metallic Gold"

The eye shadow palette and

Chanel is one of my

the Estee Lauder Christmas
collection - classically beautiful and timeless. I do feel
that high street brands are
also well worth a look
though - the new Revlon
Fire and Ice lip and nail duo
are gorgeous vintage pillarbox red shades which are
perfect for this time of year.
What kind of colour and
shades of makeup do you
like to wear in winter? What
about your holiday look, do

I very much view the colder
months as my licence to indulge in reds, berries and
more dramatic looks. I have
naturally pale skin and feel
like this becomes as asset in
the winter.
On an everyday basis I tend
to just try to make my skin
look as flawless as possible.
For nights out or days off
work I'll definitely hit the
darks and reds on lips and
nails, and smokier eyes.
Even with more neutral
eyes I like to add a smudge
of liner for more definition
and to balance the look, especially if I'm doing a
strong lip!
