The Allegri Quartet is one of the
oldest British Chamber ensembles in
existence, going back to its
foundation in 1953 by Eli Goren,
William Pleeth, Palrick lreland and
James Barton. lt is still in good form
as the quote below shows. Their
programme for us includes an early
Haydn Quartet and Tchaikovsky's 3rd
and final quartet as well as a wot4< by
lvlatthew Taylor, an exciting young
British composer, his 6th Quartet,
premiered by the Allegri.

leadership it makes a bvely sound

The Fujita sisters have been
playing chamber music together
since early childhood. They have
performed at all the major
London venues since their
Wigmore Hall in 1999 and
continue to give concerts
throughout the length and
breadth of the UK. Engagements
have also taken them to
countries overseas including
Canada, Czech Republic, France,
Italy and Sweden.

Born in 1984, James Turnbull
began playing the oboe aged 7
ln July 2005 he graduated with
First Class Honours in Music from
Christ Church, Oxford University.
The following year he completed
his Postgraduate Diploma in
Performance and LRAM Teaching
Diploma at the Royal Academy of
Music. The Romantic Oboe
programmes includes some
wondedul 1gth and 20th century
repertoire.

The Frith Piano Ouartet was
formed in 2001 by pianist Benjamin
Frith with Robert Heard (violin),
Louise Williams (viola) & Richard
Jenkinson (cello), all of whom are
soloists in their own right. They all
particularly enjoy playing Chamber
Music with each other and are also
dedicated to spreading the loy of
this music to clubs and festivals in
the United Kingdom.

As we plan our programmes well
in advance, there are sometimes
programme changes due to
circumstances beyond our control.
The Bemrose Bursary Recital
Scheme was set up in memory of
Sir Max Bemrose, a former
President of Music at Duffield.
Each year we ask the Royal
Nonhern College of Music, one of
the world's leading music
conservatoires, to choose one or
more of their most talented
students to give a recital for l\,4usic
at Duffield. For over 20 years we
have had some wonderful
concerts and seen peformers go
on to build national and
international careers.

Bursary Trust.
The artist appears by kind
permissaon of the Principal of the
Royal Northem College of Music.

sponsor the evening's drinks licence or the cost of printing the
concert programme or pay towards an artist's travel. You can,
of course, give more or sponsor more than one concert. ln
return your name will appear in the programme for the concert

you can gift aid this amount and we can claim the tax you paid
