In a short video released by The National Autistic Society to coincide with World Autism Awareness Day this
weekend, viewers are tasked with going inside the mind of a 10-year-old boy who has the disorder as he walks
through a mall with his mom.
The Autism Speaks foundation serves as an autism advocacy organization that sponsors autism research and
conducts awareness and outreach activities aimed at families, the government and the public. It is our wish that
people have a better understanding of the condition and that sufferers are able to lead full lives and reach their true
potential.
Smith said that UT's chapter also volunteers
regularly at Sunshine Communities, a group home
for those with disabilities, and Bittersweet Inc., an
organization that aims "to positively impact the lives
of individuals with autism and those whose lives they
touch", according to their website.
It was the second year Oakland University and
Oakland University's Center for Autism hosted an
event in coordination with the United Nations' World

I often hear stories about children who are excluded from parties, mums and dads who are painfully aware of other
parents rolling their eyes, and adults who are taunted as they go about their day. For parents and panelists Tammy
and Ryan Salmons, that meant sitting down with school administrators for five hours to create an Individualized
Education Program and demanding a one-on-one aide for their child.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates one in every 68 children will be diagnosed within the
spectrum. The Day was commemorated in Greater Valley School.
Lady Lupe Fielakepa said they are grateful for all the support and can only hope that each year, they are able to do
more to raise awareness on autism.
Pfizer and Allergan Terminate Merger Agreement
Pfizer shares rose 1.5% in pre-market trading Wednesday to $31.84 after rising 2.1% on Tuesday in
the wake of the Treasury news. Pfizer had stood to avoid USA taxation on over $128bn in profits
stored overseas through the proposed merger.
