Welcome
Welcome to a graduation celebration like no other—Grad Nite 2015 at the Disneyland® Resort!
Thank you for making the decision to bring your senior class to the Disneyland® Resort for their Grad
Nite experience. It’s our goal to put on a fantastic event for your seniors that they will remember for
the rest of their lives. While the celebration is all about the Grads, we know that planning an event like
this is not possible without special people like you. So thank you for signing up to be the Grad Nite
Chairperson for your senior class. We know a lot of time, planning and decision-making goes into
arranging an event of this size. Our goal is to make this a smooth and easy process for you.
This Chaperone Planning Guide is designed to act as your “survival guide” leading up to your event.
All of your ticket, agreement, arrival and dress code questions and more can be found in this guide. If
you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact the Grad Nite Office.
The Grad Nite Office is open Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. The office is closed on
weekends and major holidays.
The Grad Nite Office phone number is 800-232-7980
Email: [email protected]
Check out our website at disneylandgradnite.com
We ask that only the Grad Nite Chairperson or Chaperones contact the office. Should Students have
any questions, please have the Grad Nite Chairperson or Chaperones give us a call on behalf of the
Student. Students and parents who call the Grad Nite Office will be referred back to their Grad Nite
Chairperson.
Should any special requests or needs arise, please contact us as soon as possible so we can
accommodate your expectations as well as possible. All requests will be reviewed and may not be
guaranteed. Any requests to change Chairperson information (e.g., name or address) or event
information (e.g., date of event) should be submitted via email and will be reviewed.
We look forward to hosting you and your graduating seniors at the Disneyland® Resort in May and
June. Please use this guide to help ensure a wonderful event for everyone and let us know how we
can further assist you.

Promote Grad Nite on Your Campus
The Grad Nite website and Grad Nite video are our two most effective communication tools about
the expectations of the Disneyland® Resort Grad Nite experience. Make them yours, too!
Encourage your Grads to visit the Disneyland® Grad Nite Facebook page at facebook.com/
DisneylandGradNite. The Grad Nite video can be watched online at youtu.be/RDlgdqSRLxQ and
provides a great example of how Disney California Adventure® Park “transforms” from its daytime
appearance to the ultimate after-hours party for Grads.
Here are a few suggestions on how to get the crowd excited about Grad Nite at your school:
• Add us on Facebook: Disneyland Grad Nite.
• Show the Grad Nite video at an upcoming school or senior assembly.
• Hang the Grad Nite posters around campus.
• Include a Grad Nite message in the morning announcements or daily bulletin.
• Advertise where tickets can be purchased in the school newspaper and website.
• Include a Grad Nite message on your school marquee.
• Run a Grad Nite promotion on your closed-circuit TV system.

Ticket Ordering
We are excited to announce that in 2015, we are moving away from paper ticket order forms and
launching our brand-new online ticket store! You should already have received your ticket store email,
which includes your school name, date and number of tickets we have received for you, as well as the
link to our online ticket store. If you have not received this email, please contact us at
[email protected].
• 100% prepayment is due no later than 45 days out from your Grad Nite date in order to guarantee
your group. If payment is not received by 45 days out from your Grad Nite date, we will release
your tickets.
• Reminder: Grad Nite 2015 is completely sold out. No orders can exceed your initial application
number; however, you may order fewer than your initial application number. If you have questions
regarding how many tickets we are holding for you, please email [email protected].
• In 2015, we are enhancing a number of our policies and procedures to ensure a safe and sober
event for all Guests. We expect that all Chaperones joining the event understand and acknowledge
that they are here to assist us in making sure the event is safe and secure for all Guests.
Chaperones must be 25 or older, accessible on their cell phones throughout the day and the
night of the event and are prohibited from purchasing and consuming alcohol at the Resort while
participating as a Chaperone. In conjunction with these new enhancements, we are asking that all
Chaperone Chairpersons acknowledge these new policies and procedures on behalf of the group.
As part of the ticket ordering process within the online ticket store, you will be required to read and
acknowledge our Chaperone and Student Behavior Expectations and Policies and will ensure your
Chaperones and Students adhere to the new rules.
• Tickets will not be available for purchase on site. Please purchase all tickets in advance of your
Grad Nite date.
• Additional orders are acceptable, so long as your Grad Nite ticket orders in total do not exceed
your initial application number and you complete your total order by 45 days from your Grad Nite
date.
• You will still be able to pay via credit card, cashier’s check, organizational check or money order
drawn on a U.S. bank payable to “Walt Disney Parks and Resorts” and forwarded by registered
mail, return receipt requested, to:
Disneyland Resort

• Tickets you received have the correct event date printed on them.

individually. The serial numbers printed on your tickets do not always go in numerical order, so

they will be printed on the same stock as your Grad Nite tickets.
• Separate the Student tickets from the Chaperone tickets.
o Students will not be allowed into events with a Chaperone ticket.
o Chaperones will only be granted entrance to the Park events with a ticket
marked “Chaperone.”

lost, replacement tickets will have to be purchased, as you will not be reimbursed. There is no
exception to this rule.
If you have any discrepancy in regard to your tickets, please call the Ticket Sales and
Services Office at 714-520-7053 within five (5) days of receipt of your tickets. If our office
has not been contacted within five days after receipt of your tickets, it will be assumed the
correct number of Grad Nite tickets was received.

Reminder: Wristbands for both Chaperones and Students will not be included with your ticket order.
Wristbands will be issued on site following completion of our enhanced security screening at the Grad
Nite entry point.

wristbands for access to the private party and Chaperone Headquarters (Ariel’s Grotto), our
Chaperone-only location.
It is integral our Chaperones are out in the Park and visible throughout the four-hour private
party. In an effort to increase adult supervision, only two (2) Chaperones per school will be
allowed to be inside Chaperone Headquarters at any given time. Schools will be required
to sign in and out and Chaperones will be responsible for swapping with others from their
school. It is integral all Chaperones have each other’s cell phone numbers in advance of
arrival.

Services Building, located to the left of the Disneyland® Park Main Entrance gates. Please have your

Chaperone Information
It is your responsibility, as the Grad Nite Chairperson, to share pages 11–16 with all your
Chaperones.
As a Chaperone for Grad Nite, you are an integral part of the magic! You help us ensure a fun, safe
night for your graduating seniors. Here’s some information on how you can help us throughout the
night:
Prepare for the Magic – Prior to Arrival
• Suggested Guidelines for Schools: Students who have been recommended for expulsion or who
have had serious disciplinary action will not be considered “Students in good standing” and
therefore should not be permitted to participate in Disneyland® Grad Nite. It is the responsibility of
the school to determine that all Students participating in Grad Nite are in good standing
prior to arrival.
• Confirm that all Students attending the event are members of your school/organization and are at
least 14 years old. All Chaperones must be at least 25 years old.
• We expect all schools/organizations to conduct their own thorough security and dress code
screening prior to departure and arrival at the Disneyland® Resort for faster and smoother
processing once at the Grad Nite entry point. Make sure Students adhere to the appropriate
Dress Code Guidelines (see page 20) and are not carrying any Prohibited Items (see page 21).
• The Grad Nite entry point will open at published Park opening hours on each Grad Nite date. Park
hours are posted six weeks in advance at disneyland.com. All groups must arrive to the Grad Nite
entry point by 9:30 p.m. on all Grad Nite dates.
• Have a roster of names of all Students and Chaperones attending Grad Nite, along with copies of
any other important documentation. Take a roll call before you leave for Grad Nite and upon your
departure at the end of the event. Have a plan for you and other Chaperones and bus drivers to
contact each other if needed.
11
Protect the Magic – Upon Arrival
To further ensure the safety and security of all Guests of the Disneyland® Resort, regardless of
arrival time, Grad Nite participants will make their initial entry to the Parks at the backstage Grad Nite
entry point for an enhanced security screening. Due to this new process, all students must arrive
together with their school via buses or large vans. You must arrange some sort of transportation for
your groups. Grad Nite participants and Chaperones will be issued wristbands on site following the
completion of our security screening. This means that groups cannot distribute tickets in advance and
ask students to arrange their own transportation. Also, our policy still remains the same as in years
past: Students may not drive themselves to the event. Outside food and beverage will not be allowed
into the Resort at the Grad Nite entry point. Please have Students and Chaperones leave all outside
food and beverage on the bus prior to disembarking.
For almost 60 years, Grad Nite at the Disneyland® Resort has been a rite of passage for millions of
graduating seniors. Our goal is to create a safe environment that is enjoyable for everyone,
including all of our Guests and Cast Members. We have made several updates to our Grad Nite
behavior expectation guidelines and we will be strictly enforcing these updated policies. With your
help, we can carry on the legacy of Grad Nite at the Disneyland® Resort as the magical and
memorable experience that it is today.
Disneyland® Resort Grad Nite Policies
• It is the school’s responsibility to ensure that all Students and Chaperones attending Grad Nite
arrive at the Disneyland® Resort sober and without drugs or alcohol in their possession. We
expect schools to conduct thorough bag checks and Student screenings before allowing Students
to board buses for Grad Nite. However, Chaperones and Students will be reminded of our policies
when they get off the buses at the Disneyland® Resort.
• In association with the Anaheim Police Department, we will be conducting searches for banned
substances that will include bag searches and the use of drug-sniffing canines. If bag searches
and/or the drug-sniffing canines indicate the presence of an illegal substance, we will ask the
subject Chaperone or Student for permission to conduct a pat-down search.
• If any banned substances are found on the bus or on a Grad Nite participant or Chaperone, the
matter will be turned over to the Anaheim Police Department. Additionally, schools that violate this
policy are subject to be uninvited to attend future Grad Nite events.
• Chaperones are expected to provide adult supervision and therefore are NOT permitted to drink
alcohol while at the Disneyland® Resort during the day and night of the Grad Nite event.
Chaperones violating this policy will not be allowed into the Grad Nite event and may jeopardize
future Grad Nite invitations for their school.
12
• While we want every graduating Senior attending Grad Nite to enjoy the celebration, we also
expect those attending to respect other day Guests and Grad Nite Guests with whom they will be
sharing the Park. Certain celebratory behavior can be extremely intimidating to other Guests—
especially families with small children—and therefore, should only be displayed after the private
Grad Nite party kicks off. The following behaviors are prohibited at Disneyland® Resort and/or the
Grad Nite event:
o Groups walking and/or running in locked arms (this can appear threatening to other Guests and
is a safety concern in impacted areas).
o Group chanting of any kind (this can be disruptive to other Guests).
o Yelling at high volumes in attraction queues.
The following behavior is not tolerated at all at the Disneyland® Resort:
• Inappropriate touching or physical aggression of any kind
• Failure to comply with a request of a Disney Cast Member (our Cast Members are trained to direct
our Guests for optimal safety and to comply with our standards of conduct)
• Inappropriate language
• Theft or vandalism
• Line jumping in attraction queues
• Failure to comply with attraction guidelines
The following items are prohibited from the Park:
• Alcoholic beverages or any illegal substance
• Glass containers
• Outside food or liquids
• Weapons of any kind, or objects that appear to be weapons
• Laser pointers or other items deemed potentially harmful or disruptive
• Smoking, vaping and electronic cigarettes
If a Chaperone sees any inappropriate behavior, we ask them to immediately notify a Disney Cast
Member. And if a Student or Chaperone is expelled from the Disneyland® Resort or Grad Nite, it is the
responsibility of the school to remove the Student or Chaperone from the property.
For additional information, please refer to
https://disneyland.disney.go.com/faq/parks/permitted-items/
• Please see page 26–27 for more information on Parking & Transportation. Once your group arrives
at the Disneyland® Resort Grad Nite entry point, you will disembark from your bus/large van and
proceed through our enhanced security check. Make sure everyone in your group has their tickets
at this time. All food and beverages should be left behind.
• We ask at least one Chaperone trail behind their Students to make sure all Students have
completed the enhanced security check and have entered the Park successfully.
13
• Groups arriving to the Grad Nite entry point in Chaperone-driven large vans must have a
second Chaperone riding along who can disembark with the group and ensure all students
proceed through the enhanced security screening and enter into Disney California Adventure® Park.
The van will then be rerouted to park at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure.
• Chaperones dropping off large vans at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure can pick up a wristband from a Grad Nite Cast Member next to the Guest Services Building, located to the left of the
Disneyland® Park Main Entrance gates. Be prepared to show your ticket to verify participation.
Wristbands should be present on the right wrist prior to initial entry into either of the Parks.
• Please refer to the Disneyland® Resort Dress Code Guidelines and Prohibited Items list on pages
20–21. Anyone (Student or Chaperone) not adhering to the Disneyland® Resort Dress Code Guidelines or Prohibited Items list will be delayed and/or denied admission to the event.
• Students and Chaperones should stay with their group throughout the security process.
Medication
Medication is no longer subject to inspection at the Nurse’s Station table. Please be aware of
any and all medication your Students are bringing with them to the Disneyland® Resort.
• The Disneyland® Resort does not provide medication storage.
• If a Student becomes ill during the private lock-in Grad Nite event and needs to be picked
up by a parent or guardian, they will need an Early Release form available at Chaperone
Headquarters located at Ariel’s Grotto, which will be REQUIRED and must be filled out by the
releasing School/Organization Chaperone, parent and Student. Pickup arrangements will have to
be made by the school/organization and parents. A Chaperone is required to escort the Student out
of the Park to meet the parent or guardian.
• All Chaperones and Students attending Grad Nite at the Disneyland® Resort are expected to
adhere to the Grad Nite Prohibited Items list (see page 19).
• Lockers are available at Grad Nite at the Disneyland® Resort. Locker fees range from $7 to $15
depending on locker size. Locations:
o Lockers are available in the Esplanade between the Parks, accessible from the
Downtown Disney® District, outside the Main Entrances to Disneyland® Park and
Disney California Adventure® Park.
o While there are lockers available for use in Disneyland® Park, please encourage your Grads
to use the lockers located in either the Esplanade or Disney California Adventure® Park on
Buena Vista Street. Grads will not have access to Disneyland® Park lockers during or
after their private party. If Grads do use lockers inside Disneyland® Park, please remind
them to pick up their items before entering the private party at Disney California
Adventure® Park.

is not responsible for lost or stolen cell phones.
15
Grad Nite Private Party
• The Grad Nite Private Event will begin right when Disney California Adventure® Park closes to day
Guests. All Grad Nite participants must be inside Disney California Adventure® Park by one

at the Guest Services Building in the Esplanade to assist them in reaching a Chaperone.

Park hours can be found at disneyland.com six weeks in advance of your date. Please make sure
to check Park hours before arrival to plan your trip.
• Disneyland® Resort Grad Nite is an event for Seniors and their Guests, ages 14–21. Children of
Chaperones and/or Seniors will not be allowed into the private party. If a Grad or Chaperone
is seen with a child during the private party, they will be asked to leave—no exceptions.

Entrance and hand off the Early Release form to a Main Entrance Cast Member. Chaperones must
then escort Grads to a waiting parent or guardian.

Dress Code Guidelines and Prohibited Items
Dress Code Guidelines have always been a part of Grad Nite at the Disneyland® Resort. Ties,
jackets, skirts and heels were once the mainstay of the Grad Nite experience; however, over the
years the dress code has evolved to keep up with the current fashion and trends and to make everyone more comfortable to enjoy this great celebration.
The Disneyland® Resort Dress Code Guidelines and Prohibited Items list have been established to
ensure a safe event for all our Guests. It is ultimately the school’s responsibility to ensure that all
Students and Chaperones adhere to the Disneyland® Resort Dress Code Guidelines upon arrival.
Please note some individual schools’ dress code policies may be stricter than that of the Disneyland®
Resort. We highly suggest that all schools/organizations conduct their own Security and Dress Code
screening prior to departure and arrival at the Disneyland® Resort for faster and smoother processing
once at the Main Entrance.
Please refer to the Dress Code Guidelines and Prohibited Items list on the next page.
Things to remember:

2 a.m., please request an EARLY RELEASE FORM the night of your event from a Guest

Chaperone.
• For questions regarding Early Release forms, please contact the Grad Nite Office at

Chaperone Information Site
• Each Chaperone Chairperson will receive an email with a link to our Chaperone Information Site.
On this site, we will be collecting information on your group, your arrival plans, and up to ten (10
Chaperone cell phone numbers per group. You may have more than 10 Chaperones, but we only
require 10 cell phone numbers.
This information will help our partners be prepared for your arrival. Please send us this information
by 30 days prior to your Grad Nite date. Once you complete the information, you will receive a
confirmation email. This email contains a link for you to update the information you entered at any
time. Please provide phone numbers for Chaperones who will be on site throughout the entirety of
your stay. Please make sure your Chaperones have the volume on their ringers turned up. We expect
all Chaperones to make their duties their number one priority. If a Disneyland® Cast Member calls a
Chaperone, we expect them to answer and to assist us immediately.
24
Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement
In an effort to involve parents and guardians in the conversation of expected behavior while at
Disneyland® Grad Nite, we have sent a link for you to download our Parent/Guardian
Acknowledgment letter. While we are not collecting these forms, we encourage our schools
to facilitate a collection.
• We encourage you to discuss all our new behavior expectations and policies with parents/
guardians. If you need a copy of the Parent/Guardian Acknowledgment form, please email
[email protected].

Parking & Transportation
Parking information will be communicated to you in May via email. When you receive the parking
information, please provide all drivers of all your vehicles with copies of driving instructions.
• All Students attending Grad Nite must arrive by buses, vans or Chaperone-driven vehicles.
Student-driven vehicles are not permitted under any circumstances and students are not
allowed to arrange their own travel.
• In May, you will receive parking placards via mail with your group name for all your buses/large
vans. Please display this placard visibly in the front window to easily identify the bus.
• We strongly encourage Chaperones to arrive with their Students and not drive separately.
• The school is responsible for arranging bus transportation, either via a commercial bus line or
school bus. Long-distance bus drivers adhere to DOT mandatory regulations that govern how
many hours they are “behind the windshield.” Typically, this rule is 10 hours, but it does vary.
Please check with your transportation company to make certain that these regulations do not
interfere with the drop-off/pickup times of your group as the company may have to schedule an
additional driver to assist with your group.
• You will receive Bus/Large Van Parking Vouchers with your ticket order. Please provide these to
Resort Parking and Transportation Cast Members upon arrival to the Mickey & Friends Parking
Structure.
• If your bus is staying on property until the end of the event, once your driver unloads the bus/large
van at the Grad Nite entry point, they will be rerouted to Mickey & Friends Parking Structure to
park. Please have your driver provide their parking vouchers to a Resort Parking and
Transportation Cast Member upon arrival to the structure. A Cast Member will then show your
driver where to park. Please note: We do not provide complimentary admission to bus drivers.
• After dropping off students at the Grad Nite entry point, if your bus will be leaving property and
returning at the end of the event to pick up, they will be rerouted out of the Resort and can return to
the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure at the end of the event to pick up Students and
Chaperones.
• Before departing the bus, ensure that you have your admission tickets.
26
Additional Information
• It is recommended that admission tickets be distributed to each Student and Chaperone on the bus
before exiting at the Grad Nite entry point. Wristbands will be provided following completion of the
Grad Nite security and screening.

Communication with Bus Drivers
• The Grad Nite entry point off of Harbor Boulevard and Disney Way will open at published Park
opening and will close at 9:30 p.m. on all Grad Nite dates. More information on parking location and
directions will be emailed to you in May. We will also mail you parking placards for your
vehicles. Please make sure the parking placard in visible in the front window of all buses/large
vans.
• Please inform your transportation company that Students/Chaperones need to be picked up from
the Grad Nite event before 3 a.m.
• It is imperative that one or two Chaperones from each school/organization exchange cell phone
numbers with your bus driver(s) for a smoother arrival and departure process.
• Please provide copies of all parking information (directions and maps) to your bus drivers once you
receive them.
• Please note that bus drivers are not permitted to attend Grad Nite.
27

Mickey & Friends Parking Structure.
