from ready-made box lunches, a lunch buffet, deli items, or soups and
salads. Or, spend the morning in a hands-on cooking class at one of the
country’s premier culinary institutions, Le Cordon Bleu. Le Cordon Bleu
offers Saturday four-hour session Petit Workshops with a chef instructor.
DAY TWO -AFTERNOON
.................................................................................................................................................................
Make your way to Edelweiss Bakery for sweet treats, beautiful pastries
and artisan breads. Mark and Julie Bowles opened the Prior Lake
bakery after living in Europe. Mark wanted to give the people in his
home town the same fresh baked daily breads that Europeans are
accustomed to buying. “It’s a focal point of every town. We wanted to
be able to give that to Prior Lake, so that the local community would
feel as though they had a place to call their own,” says Mark.
DAY TWO - EVENING
..................................................................................................................................................................
As you depart, stop at the Cedar Summit Farm. Cedar Summit Farm is the only
on-farm creamery that bottles organic milk from grass-fed cows in Minnesota.
“It’s pretty amazing how the flavor of the milk changes depending on what the
cows are eating, whether it’s clover or the more earthy alfalfa. The milk is richer in
omega 3 as a result too,” says Ryan Crum, business development and marketing
manager. Browse the farm store which has a variety of natural and certified
organic foods such as milk, cream, as well as grass-fed beef and pork products.
