Specialists, architects, urban planners, representatives of the professional associations and organizations in
constructions from Romania as well as representatives of the central authorities met last week in Brasov within
CAMEX events.CAMEX National Exhibition of Constructions and Installations, with a 9 year-old tradition
in Transylvania, and Construct Week Regional Forum in Constructions brought together for 4 days in Brasov the
constructors, enabling the specialists to update their professional information and offering the companies new
opportunities for communication and business development.CAMEX Brasov carried out, as in previous years, the
message of the constructors in Transylvania and the Construct Week regional specialized conferences brought
together in the 2 days of debates over 300 participants at the workshops.
The Press Conference on Wednesday, the 21st of April, at Aro Palace Hotel, at which participated the
presidents of associations and organizations in constructions (The Employees' Organization of Construction
Companies, The Association of Installation Engineers from Romania, Brasov Subsidiary and the Order of the
Architects from Romania, Brasov, Harghita, Covasna Subsidiary) shaped the general frame of the CAMEX meetings in
Brasov and pointed out the main aspects of the state of constructions, in particular for Transylvania region, the
current issues and the necessary measures to overcome them.
After the press conference, followed the meeting of the businessmen in constructions from Brasov
and Mr. Ioan Mihaila, General Director of the General Direction of Public Works within the Ministry
of Regional Development and Tourism, meeting organized on the occasion of the 9th edition of CAMEX Brasov,
by Abplus Events in partnership with the Employees' Organization of Construction Companies from Romania. There
were approached topics such as: the relationship between constructors and the Ministry of Regional Development and
Tourism (MRDT), the National Program of Thermal Rehabilitation of MRDT, the government-supported dwelling
construction program, the current economic background and future perspectives.
Thursday, the 22nd of April, took place the Official Opening of CAMEX Brasov 2010, at which
participated: Carol AMBRUS, sub-prefect of Brasov County; Adriana IFTIME, Director of the Employees'
Organization of the Construction Companies; Liviu SIMION, Prime Vice President of the Employees' Organization of
the Construction Companies and Mircea TESCARU, Regional Manager of Deko Professsional Services, Official
Partner of CAMEX 2010.
On Thursday and Friday took place the workshops of the 4 Construct Week specialized conferences at
which participated personalities from the university environment in Brasov, representatives of the professional
associations in Brasov as well as important companies, leaders in the construction market, such as Saint-Gobain Glass
Romania, Keller Geotehnica, Geobrugg, Fabryo Corporation, Arcon, DEKO Professional Services or
ALUKÖNIGSTAHL. The significant number of specialists that took part in the workshops demonstrated that the
Forum reached its purpose, which is that of promoting excellence and professionalism in constructions.

“We were very pleased with the number of visitors, with the event organization
and the way the Abplus Events personnel got involved. We are satisfied from all
points of view: of the visitors, of the organization and the contacts we made. All
these contacts were followed by discussions. There were many specialists:
architects, installation engineers as well as companies from the installations and
insulations fields, fields which are compatible with ours from the floor heating
point of view. We believe the Exhibition in Brasov was the most successful edition
out of the last five”.

“The way we are going is forward, in my opinion. I participated at the
Exhibition last year as well, but this year at Brasov, the exhibition and
the discussion forum were pretty successful. The 4 Conferences were
very well conceived and I think they should be repeated, because they
are interesting. And if the professional associations like us participate
as well, I think it is a very important gain. Especially now, when there
is the need to promote the new systems for conception, conformation
and modernization of the buildings, the use of renewable energies, I
think these debates are welcome.
With all this fall in the construction branch, in the crisis context, I think we already reached the bottom. Lately one
can feel a revival of the industry.The expectations were reached, we know each other for many years now and I think
it is an evolved exhibition center. We had approximately 60 participants in the hall, which shows the level of interest
raised by a regional conference.”

“It seemed interesting, the optimum conditions were created to
motivate people to talk to each other. As far as the program of the
conference is concerned, there were 2 days of very interesting
discussions, one very engineers-oriented, the other one about
architecture, both of them excellent.
The Conference has reached its purpose, the topics of the presentations
had a common coordinate. There were discussed patrimony- related
issues as well as urban-planning issues, very good things. Conclusions
were drawn, presentations were made and there are ideas to continue
the debated topics. “

"Construct Week Regional Forum in Constructions Brasov 2010 was an event
that succeeded in making possible the meeting of a specialist audience, a thing
that happens seldom in Brasov. The audience groups were numerous and of
great interest all allong the conferences. That brought an unquestionable
additional value to the exhibition, everyone present there interacting with the
target audience.
Within the Conference of Architecture and Urban Planning there were
presented real situations of great recency, which raised the interest of the
participants, thing which established from the very beginning a dialogue
between the presentators and the audience. Because in a conference this thing is
a priority in the deployment of the event, the program was well-structured..”

„CAMEX is a very useful event in the construction field from many points of
view. First of all, it helps you make yourself known to the clients or better known
than you already are. A face-to-face meeting with the potential clients is always
very useful for both the companies and the clients. Secondly, at such an event,
you can see who your competition is and what has changed in the field. I
wouldn't neglect the so-called sorting function of the valid companies, because
at such an event, especially after a year of crisis like the previous one, the
participants are strong companies. I am also surprised in a good way by the
simultaneous event of CAMEX- Construct Week, the series of specialized
conferences”

„First of all I would like to say that, for many years, my presence at the fairs in constructions has been very reduced.
Even the activity of making technical specialized presentations has been reduced too, my satisfaction being that of
making studies and projects for constructions, as qualitative as possible.I believe this kind of manifestations are as
important, no matter the period or the general state of the economy; it is all the more worthy of appreciation the fact
that, instead of despair and lack of attitude, there are people that mobilize themselves and attract resources that make
these events possible.

„I sincerely congratulate Abplus who managed to create in Romania CAMEX, the biggest exhibition in constructions at
national level. I truly appreciate the presence of the producers of construction materials, of the developers in this
second year of crisis. For me it is sad that in the last two years there has been a decrease in the number of exhibitors and
this decrease is the direct effect of the crisis. On the other hand, these are survivors, the healthy companies, companies
that, in my view, will have all the chances to overcome this crisis and to be the engines of the recovery in constructions
and, through that, of the recovery of the whole economy.”

“The Forum is important because it offers the opportunity to create connections between the participants, architects,
constructors, materials distributors. It was a good occasion for debates, because there are not being organized too
many discussions of this kind.
The theme of the Conference of Architecture was a bit difficult, but of very recent interest, related to the public spaces
and what is going on in our cities. The presentations were straight to the point and it is a small step forward to get to
open and correct debates about what is happening in Romania..”

“I consider that these meetings between projectors, constructors
and construction materials manufacturers are more than beneficial.
It is normal that the ones who project, the ones who execute the
materials and the ones that use them to collaborate, because the
construction industry is a very large investment area, material
goods and human lives are sheltered. Let's not forget that we live in
an earthquake zone and that a big earthquake can come anytime.
Starting from the projecting activity to the building materials
manufacturers, including the ones that use them, the executors, the
constructors, quality things must be done.
For now, we discuss the crisis situation, but let's not forget that every crisis has its end. When the crisis is over, I am
positive that, given the fact that there are still many things to be done in Romania in the construction field, the
"constructors' era" will begin, which I hope will last for a long time. In Romania, there is a need for dwellings, sport
stadiums, schools, hospitals- there are places that don't even have a hospital. From this point of view, Construct Week
was an optimum discussion frame.”

“Construct Week Regional Forum in Constructions Brasov 2010 has, from my point of view, a major importance in the
development of the construction and architecture market not only for the ones that practice professions in this field,
but also for the large public that at a certain moment can become the beneficiary of this market. The Conferences that
took place in these 2 days have raised interesting issues. From my point of view, these conferences are direct means for
discussions and debates at which should participate not only the ones from those specific fields, but also the ones from
other fields, everybody being after all part of the population. And the finality of such a forum in constructions is the
image and the functionality of the city.
Just like the other conferences, the Conference of Architecture and Urban Development is addressed to the entire
population and not only to the ones that are active in the field. The dialogue between the architects and the population
is best facilitated through these conferences, where certain problems of the current urban reality could be solved, even
if at first just at a discussion level.
Because interesting ideas were presented by means of ellaborated speeches, it would be a pity that these conferences
don't have an actual finality. And in order to get a real finality, we can start by extending the number and the activity
domain of the public.”

new solutions to the students that came at Construct Week, because it

The meeting between the businessmen from Brasov in the construction field and Mr. Ioan Mihaila, General Director of
the General Direction of Public Works within the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism (MRDT), took place
on Wednesday, the 21st of April, at 18:00, at Aro Palace Hotel in Brasov and was organized on the occasion of the 9th
edition of CAMEX Brasov by ABplus Events in partnership with the Employees' Organization of Construction
Companies in Romania. The meeting had as theme the situation of constructions in Transylvania. There were
approached issues such as the relationship between constructors and the Ministry of Development, the National
Program of Thermal Rehabilitation of MRDT, the government-supported dwelling construction program, the current
economic background and future perspectives.
