2015 Featured Artist
Peter Kaune
A lifelong interest in birds combined with years of sculptural and design work in the family display business led
Pete to carving birds. His carvings have been shown at
exhibitions throughout the US since 1981. He has won
over 100 Best of Show Awards. In 1988 he took the Best
in the World Award at the Ward World Championship
Carving Competition in Ocean City, MD.
In the mid ‘90’s, he was diagnosed with
terminal throat cancer and was given few
months to live, but he beat the odds and
learned two valuable lessons:
1. If you want to do something,
do it now
2. Carve what you want when you want.
4600 SE Columbia Way, Vancouver, WA 98661
He’s still carving and winning!
