hundreds of Yarmouth volunteers donate their time to the
Festival to help raise money for over 35 local non-profit
organizations, churches, and school groups. As you enjoy
the entertainment, shop at a craft booth, participate in a
competition, buy a T-shirt, or eat a clam, you are helping

The Yarmouth Police Department joins the Chamber of
Commerce in welcoming you to Clam Festival. We ask for
your support in keeping the weekend fun and safe for all.
Please respect the property and rights of others, observe
“no parking” signs, and comply with Maine law that
prohibits the drinking of alcoholic beverages in public.

Road Closures
Main Street is closed to vehicles for several Festival
events including: Parade, Kids’ Fun Run, Pat’s Pizza
Five Mile Classic, Firefighters’ Muster, and Professional Bike Race. Refer to clamfestival.com for a

& Activities
Information Booths are located on Main Street
beside Memorial Green and on the NYA Lawn. A bulletin
board at Memorial Green lists daily Festival events
and race results. Official Clam Festival T-shirts, hats,
posters, postcards, and other items are available.
The McCarthys
Eco-Market at Village Green Park. Learn more about
green living, cooking, and food growing. Featuring
hand-made goods and green home products, cooking
and fiber arts demonstrations, alpaca meet-and-greet,
AND music unplugged! Friday & Saturday.
Free Belgian Horse Drawn Wagon Rides along
Main Street. All aboard at Village Green Park. Friday
12-3pm; Saturday 10:30am-12pm & 4-7pm; Sunday
10:30am-12:30pm & 2-5pm. Sponsored by Summit

Pink Elephant Sale Treasures for sale across from
the First Parish Church. Discover books, furniture,
household items, and unique collectibles.
Yarmouth Alumni Association is calling all Clippers!
Alumni, sail by the tent next to the Library driveway,
say hello to fellow alums, and register with the
Yarmouth Alumni Association if you have not done so.
First Parish Church Docent-led Tours of the
authentically restored 1868 church will be offered on
Friday and Saturday at 11am and 3pm; Sunday at 11am.
Free Entertainment is provided all weekend at
three locations: the Entertainment Tent at the North
Yarmouth Academy Stage, on the Memorial Green
Stage sponsored by Linda Bean’s Maine Kitchen,
and on the Serendipity Stage on the First Parish
Church Lawn.
Carnival by Smokey’s Greater Shows, Inc. is next
to the Rowe School. Open Wednesday & Thursday
5-11pm; Friday & Saturday 10am-11pm; Sunday
11am-5pm. Pay-one-price $20 bracelets are valid

Craft Show Our juried Craft Show on the NYA Lawn
offers a selection of handmade crafts in every price
range created by more than 140 artisans. Friday &

Art Show & Sale Under the Oaks on the Library
Lawn. View original works from the best artists in
Maine and from away. Browse the show under three
Maine State Champion Oak Trees, the largest known
living members of each species in Maine. Friday 10am5pm, Saturday 10am-7pm and Sunday 10am-5pm.

About the Clam Festival
• The Yarmouth Clam Festival’s inaugural event was
in 1965, making 2014 the 49th Festival.
• More than 100,000 visitors from 32 states and
13 foreign countries are expected to attend the
three day Festival.
• The record for the Maine state clam-shucking contest
is 25 clams per minute!

• Over 180 crafters, artists, and photographers from
Maine and New England display and sell their work.
A favorite part of the Festival, our juried craft show
has a fine selection of jewelry, clothing, collectibles,
pottery, wood carvings, and other handcrafted items
created by over 140 artisans for every price range.
The Festival’s jury consists of a panel of independent
experts in various categories of arts and crafts. The
jury selects crafters based on the following criteria:
authenticity of handcrafted workmanship, originality
and individuality, design excellence, executional skill,
attention to detail, and professionalism in presentation.
All of the Clam Festival food booths are managed by
Yarmouth-based non-profit organizations to fund their
group activities throughout the year. These non-profits
are comprised of school, civic and church organizations.
When you buy Festival food, you are making a donation
to a well-deserving non-profit group. We thank you!
• Ten miles of electrical wire is run to power the
Festival.
• The Festival’s mile-and-a-half, hour-long parade has
over 130 floats, marching bands, antique cars, and
unique entertainers from all over Maine and New
England. The parade draws thousands of spectators
that line the entire length of Main Street.
• The Clam Festival used to be the Firemen’s Field
Day and the Firefighter’s Muster is a well-preserved
tradition attracting firefighters and spectators from
all over Maine and New England.
• More than 6,000 pounds of clams, 6,000 lobster
rolls, 2,500 pancake breakfasts, 2,000 shore
dinners, 400 homemade pies, and 6,000 strawberry
shortcakes are expected to be consumed at the
Festival. All are washed down with over 13,500
Lime Rickeys (a favorite Festival beverage).

The Art Show
Under The Oaks At Merrill Memorial Library

A talented group of over 40 artists from Maine and
New England feature their art on the Merrill Memorial
Library lawn for three days. Mediums include oil,
acrylic, watercolor, pen & ink, and photography.

Yarmouth sky.
• The Festival mascot
Steamer the Clam
was created in 2004.
The human inside
