INTRODUCTION
Global Peace Mission (GPM) Malaysia is a non-profit NGO
established under trusteeship laws of Malaysia, to attend to the
aid of natural and man-made human calamities world wide.
The name GPM was assembled on 26th September 2001 in an
immediate response to the ordeal and sufferings of the Afghans
under intense US military on-slaught and occupation.
Previously GPM was already operating close to three decades of
selfless service pursuing similar objectives as disaster relief funds
under the auspices of the Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia
(ABIM). Albeit as an operating relief agency of ABIM. Hence,
such names as Palestine Relief Fund, Bosnia Relief Fund and Iraq
Relief Fund.
GPM is under no illusion that quick-fix emergency solutions would
suffix for each chosen or designated disaster area. Accordingly,
GPM invariably stays on to help out with longer term objectives in
education,
economics,
agriculture,
health,
community
development and socio-economic empowerment programmes
benefiting victims across the board – old folks income earners,
women, youth and children.
