Product Weight Chart
FiberWire suture is constructed of a multi-stranded long chain ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene
(UHMWPE) core with a braided jacket of polyester and UHMWPE that gives FiberWire superior strength,
soft feel and abrasion resistance that is unequaled in orthopaedic surgery. Suture breakage during knot tying
is virtually eliminated, especially critical during arthroscopic procedures. FiberWire represents a major
advancement in orthopaedic surgery.
Strength
FiberWire has greater strength than comparable size standard polyester suture. Multiple independent scientific
studies document significant increases in strength to failure, stiffness, knot strength and knot slippage with much
less elongation1.
Biocompatibility
Extensive biocompatibility, animal and clinical testing prove that FiberWire demonstrates biocompatibility
characteristics equivalent to standard polyester suture. Over two years of successful clinical outcomes in over
one million orthopaedic procedures substantiate excellent biocompatibility. Biocompatibility, strength and testing
results are available upon request2.
Tie Ability and Knot Profile
Orthopaedic surgeons enthusiastically endorse FiberWire for its feel and knot tie ability. The first throw stays down,
facilitating reproducible tissue repair. Sliding knots advance smoothly easing arthroscopic knot tying procedures.
Superior strength allows tighter loop security during knot tying, increasing knot integrity while reducing the knot
profile compared to standard polyester suture.
Abrasion Resistance
The multi-strand long chain ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene core dramatically increases FiberWire
abrasion resistance. Surgical procedures that create bone edges, tunnel edges, and articulating surface-abrasion
areas are appropriate indications for FiberWire. FiberWire is over five times more abrasion resistant than standard
polyester suture.
Variety
The FiberWire family includes sizes 4-0 - #5, including designs such as FiberStick and FiberSnare that provide
innovative solutions to arthroscopic suture passing. TigerWire has a black spiral thread for easier arthroscopic
visualization, identification, sizing and motion detection. FiberLoop is ideal for multi-strand tendon repairs.
Safety in Numbers
Trusted by leading orthopaedic surgeons worldwide since its introduction in 2002, FiberWire has contributed
to successful surgical outcomes in over 1,000,000 orthopaedic procedures ranging from Achilles tendon
repair to rotator cuff repair. Multiple scientific publications have confirmed the advantages of FiberWire in
orthopaedic surgery1,2.

FiberSnare®
FiberSnare with closed loop provides an easy, one step approach to creating
a FiberWire loop on the tip of the Bio-Tenodesis Driver. Instead of using a
Nitinol wire, insert the stiff non-looped end retrograde through the tip of the
Bio-Tenodesis Screwdriver. Place the tip of the tendon or tendon graft into the
FiberWire loop and cinch the other end around the suture cleat on the back
end of the blue Tear Drop Handle. The FiberSnare can also be used as a suture
shuttle for passage of traction sutures through bone tunnels.

FiberLink™
The closed loop on FiberLink is designed to facilitate the application of a
cinch stitch by simply passing the suture through tissue and feeding the free
end through the loop and tensioning. The loop length will ensure the loop
fully encapsulates the tissue prior to tapering down to the single strand.

Suture Cutters
The Suture Cutter’s precision jaws prevent knot cutting by leaving a length
of reproducible suture tail, 3 mm for the 4.2 mm outer diameter cutter and
1 mm for the 2.75 mm outer diameter cutters, without direct visual control.
These cutters have a special locking device to prevent premature suture
cutting. The blunt tip of the cutter is excellent for knot pushing.
The Open Ended Suture Cutter was designed to speed up the suture
cutting process. This cutter allows for quick and efficient suture tail
cutting under direct visual control through the same or alternate cannula
or portal. The notch on the side of the cutter tip automatically guides the
suture tails into the front cutting slot for an accurate cut from any angle.
The FiberTape Cutters were designed to cut two strands of FiberTape
flush to the anchor site without direct visual control.

FiberWire Scissor
The FiberWire Scissor was designed to cut any size or style suture, especially
FiberWire, in open surgical cases where an arthroscopic Suture Cutter is not
necessary. With its specially designed cutting edges, it can cut FiberWire
cleanly and effortlessly without frayed edges. The color-coded handle
facilitates instrument differentiation in large instrument packs.

FingerShield™
The FingerShield is a woven polyester sleeve with an embedded
radiopaque blue marker designed to reduce pressure-induced
lacerations to the digits of the hand caused by repetitive knot tying
during surgery. They slip right over sterile gloves when needed.
The tips are left open to allow pinch grasp of suture strands, while
still protecting the IP joint area of each digit. The soft, finger conforming
weave will stand up to repetitive hand tying during a case without
constraining the fingers. Suture slides over the FingerShield smoothly
and effortlessly.

FiberWire Tensioner
The FiberWire Tensioner provides controlled tensioning of FiberWire loops
during knot tying when reapproximating soft tissue. The blunt tip keeps the
knot in place, while the tensioning wheel and spring mechanism gently
tension the loop to tighten the repair. It is appropriate for use in conjunction
with #5 FiberWire.

LIGAMENT STABILIZATION
TightRope
The TightRope CCL technique was developed to provide a minimally invasive method for extracapsular
stabilization of the cranial cruciate ligament-deficient canine stifle. TightRope CCL seeks to optimize the lateral
suture stabilization technique by employing bone-to-bone fixation, an implant with superior strength and stiffness
designed specifically for ligament repair, and a method for consistent isometric implant placement. As such,
TightRope CCL can counteract cranial tibial thrust, drawer, and internal rotation while providing optimal joint
range of motion.
TightRope Benefits:
• Bone-to-bone fixation
• Strength
• Minimally invasive technique
• Low profile implant
• Potential for addressing all abnormal forces

The Corkscrew® and FASTak™ Suture Anchors were designed to provide the highest strength possible
in all types of indications and to make technically demanding procedures simpler, safer and reproducible.
Built-in, easy-to-use features, such as laser lines on the driver shaft ensure that the anchor has been placed
at an appropriate depth and the eyelet is lined up in the correct position to pass the suture in the right
direction, are just a couple examples. Combined with the high strength characteristics and increased abrasionresistance of FiberWire, it gives the surgeon confidence during crucial knot tying stages where suture breakage
is virtually eliminated.

LIGAMENT STABILIZATION
CCL Kit, Meniscal Knives and Probes
The CCL Kits come with #2 or #5 FiberWire with swedged on curved and straight needles to allow for
easy passage of the FiberWire through bone tunnels and around the fabella. The strength, less elongation
properties, and abrasion resistance of FiberWire makes this a great suture for CCL reconstructions.
The meniscal knives are great tools for dealing with meniscal tears or soft tissue resection.
These precision-crafted knives are “must have” items. Offered are the Banana Knife, Hook Knife
and Push Knife designs. A reusable handle also provides better gripping in wet environments.

Continuous Wave™ III Arthroscopy Pump
The Continuous Wave III Pump provides ideal joint
distention throughout a surgical procedure. Pressure and
flow levels can be adjusted independently, on the pump
or from the sterile field, with the autoclavable remote for
optimum control of fluid dynamics. Clear joint distention
can be maintained even with aggressive shaving, aspiration
and multiple arthroscopy portals. The Continuous Wave III
Pump incorporates the latest safety and performance features
to meet the highest demands of surgeons, surgical nurses
and administrators in today’s cost-conscious and performanceminded surgical settings.

Pump Tubing Options
Main Pump Tubing
This tubing set is for those who prefer a complete tubing set and want to replace
the fluid bags after each case. Each tube set comes with an independently packaged
press-fit luer lock to allow for tubing length adjustment – if used in conjunction with the
Extension Tubing. If used alone, the set must be discarded after each use.
Main Pump Tubing for AR-6400 or AR-6475, 16’ long, sterile, qty. 10 AR-6410
Extension Tubing
This unique tubing provides an economical option to reduce tubing costs by allowing
the Main Pump Tubing to remain in use for the entire surgical day. The exclusive backflow
valve prevents contaminated fluid from reaching the Main Pump Tubing. The Main Pump
Tubing and fluid bags no longer need to be discarded after each surgical case.
Extension Tubing, 8’ long, sterile, qty. 20 AR-6220
Y-Tubing Adapter
The optional Y-Tubing Adapter allows four fluid bags to be attached to either the Main Pump
Tubing or the ReDeuce Pump Tubing, resulting in fewer fluid bag changes.
Y-Tubing Adapter, double spike, two per set, sterile, qty. 10 AR-6215
ReDeuce™ Pump Tubing System
Features and Benefits:
• Saves fluid by not requiring the remaining
fluid to be discarded after the termination
of a surgical case.
• Saves tubing costs, as the main tubing stays
in place throughout the surgical day. Only the
ReDeuce Patient Tubing needs to be replaced
for each case.
• Saves set-up time. Only the Patient ReDeuce
Tubing needs to be passed off from the sterile
field before each case. The ReDeuce Pump
Tubing stays in place the entire surgical day
and no additional fluid bags need to be spiked
until they are completely empty.

ReDeuce Tubing is a cost-effective,
two-part tubing system that allows
the pump tubing to stay in place
through the surgical day. Only the
patient tubing is replaced after each
case.
The patient tubing is a two meter
extension set that extends from the
ReDeuce Pump Tubing to the sterile
field. Each ReDeuce Patient Tubing
set contains a backflow restrictor
and touch proof connector to
maintain sterility from case to case.

Footswitch Options: Low Profile Footswitch
The low profile footswitch design minimizes fatigue while maintaining control of all APS II
functions. Directional control and speed increase functions are controlled by pressing the
appropriate pad. By pressing the toggle dome-switch, control is changed between the
console’s dual channels.
Wireless and Corded Multi-Function Footswitches
The wireless and corded (not pictured) multi-function footswitches feature a user-selected
function mode of either the low profile footswitch or the gas pedal footswitch (not pictured).
All speed, direction, cruise and toggle controls are accessible on either of these user-friendly
accessories and the active mode is displayed on the APS II Console.
APS II Small Shaver Handpiece
The APS II Shaver Handpiece delivers the same speed and power as its larger predecessor.
The quick snap-lock collet accepts standard as well as small joint blades and burrs,
making it one of the most versatile handpieces available.
APS II Small Shaver Handpiece, Hand-Control
Based on the design of its predecessor, the hand-control shaver handpiece offers the
same power, performance and versatility but adds increased tactile feel by placing
control at your fingertips. The two ergonomically placed multi-function buttons
control speed and directional modes. The dual-position, snap-lock collet accepts
large and small joint blades and burrs.
The Orthopaedic Procedure Electrosurgical System (OPES®) is the first-of-its kind, completely digital
platform designed to provide the surgeon and O.R. staff with greater flexibility and performance
for arthroscopic as well as open surgical procedures.
Digital Technology and Patient Safety
The OPES generator was designed with patient safety as its highest priority. The completely digital
generator provides efficient tissue cutting, coagulation and ablation at significantly reduced power
settings. The Digital Error Detection (DED) and Neutral Electrode Monitoring (NEM) ensure the highest
level of patient safety.
The Arthrex Advantage
Monopolar Ablation and Coagulation Probes
The OPES monopolar all-in-one disposable ablation probes provide greater ablation speed and efficiency,
while lowering the per procedure cost. For convenience, all probes are hand or foot controlled.

Orthopaedic Electrosurgical System
3-in-1 Electrosurgical System
With “3-in-1” system flexibility, the OPES Electrosurgical Generator is also capable of controlling a host of
different instruments, including disposable monopolar arthroscopic electrodes, reusable and disposable
monopolar open procedure pencils and tips, and reusable bipolar forceps. The need for three separate,
costly and space-occupying electrosurgical generators is eliminated.
Electrosurgical Generator Compatibility
All OPES arthroscopic probes and electrodes can be used in conjunction with standard electrosurgical
generators utilizing a 3-pin monopolar connection port. Another great option to eliminate multiple
arthroscopic ablation boxes in the O.R.

Arthrex CoolCut Radio Frequency Ablation
The new line of CoolCut radio frequency devices features an innovative ergonomic handle with
finger touch controls. The 90° versions have a unique shape that allows for maximum extension
from the tip of the electrode to the shaft of the device, while still fitting through a 5 mm cannula.
The new CoolCut shaft coating facilitates easy insertion through both working cannulas and
subcutaneous tissue.
The pioneering design of the CoolCut electrode tips makes it possible to operate the CoolCut
series at extremely low-power settings, thereby increasing patient safety without sacrificing
performance. The reduction of the power requirements also allows for the absence of a ceramic
ring surrounding the electrode face, reducing the size of the tip which aids in reaching target
tissue in anatomically tight spaces.

• The Canine Cannula Tray contains a unique cannula system that allows precise one-step placement
of the first cannula by using a cannulated obturator that inserts directly over the initial guide needle.
Beveled changing rods allow easy portal dilation and switching to two larger cannula sizes. This tray
also includes a fenestrated outflow cannula with stopcock and Switching Sticks designed for the stifle.
• A specialized Hand Instrument Tray secures a Series I Grasper and a Slender Punch in an upright position
for easy accessibility. The tray also has space for additional hand instruments. Arthrex offers a lifetime
guarantee on materials and workmanship on every Series I instrument. The compact, lightweight,
expandable and anodized Canine Arthroscopy Set contains the most popular instruments as determined
by leading canine arthroscopic surgeons. The aluminum autoclave case holds the instruments securely
in slotted, laser labeled silicone pads for proper protection and easy identification during use and repacking.

Cannulas
PassPort Button Cannula
The PassPort Cannulas help maximize visibility and maneuverability inside and
outside of the arthroscopic work space. The double-dam, one-piece molded design
has low profile flanges that seat flush to the skin and soft tissue. These flanges create
a stable portal that allows instruments to be inserted and removed, without the concern
of cannula loss. They are easily introduced by grasping the inside flange with a curved hemostat
and inserting into the incision. Each PassPort is supplied with a 5 mm spacer to ensure the accurate
length. They may be used for indications in the shoulder, knee, hip and elbow.
Gemini SR8 Cannula
The Gemini SR8 Cannula incorporates a clever, deployable wing feature
to prevent cannula “fall-out” during insertion and removal of instruments
for Bankart, SLAP and rotator cuff repairs. The low profile design of the
wings will securely hold the cannula in place, even in the tightest working
spaces, without taking up space and hampering the surgeon’s ability to
efficiently complete their work. Additionally, the inner sleeve of the cannula can telescope relative to
the outer portion of the cannula allowing the surgeon a clear, unobstructed channel to pathology.
It is also very useful during knot tying, allowing the surgeon to place the clear telescoping tube down
to the knot to prevent soft tissue entrapment within the suture knot. The included, disposable cannulated
obturator allows for easy insertion over a 2.6 mm Switching Stick.

Twist-In Cannulas
The translucent Twist-In Cannula allows direct arthroscopic visualization of instruments and
suture passing through the cannula. The flexible option easily conforms to large or curved
instruments. Each cannula is supplied with a “no-squirt” cap and disposable obturator.
Crystal Cannula®
The Crystal Cannula offers a unique barrel-shaped retention bowl that pools fluid to
eliminate cannula “squirt”. Three atraumatic distal retaining options help to prevent
cannula “fall-out”. The translucent cannula allows for direct visualization of instruments
and suture passing. The flexible option easily conforms to large or curved instruments.
Each cannula is supplied with a disposable obturator.

Canine Unicompartmental Elbow (CUE)
The Canine Unicompartmental Elbow is a safe and effective option for the treatment for Medial Compartment
Disease (MCD) for dogs in which arthroscopic treatment and nonsurgical options are no longer successful.
By focusing on the specific area of disease (the medial compartment), the CUE implant provides a less invasive,
bone-sparing option for resurfacing the bone-on-bone medial compartment while preserving the dog’s own
“good” cartilage in the lateral compartment. This medial resurfacing procedure was created to reduce or
eliminate the pain and lameness that is caused by the bone-on-bone grinding.

The microfracture picks enable easier access to hard-to-reach chondral surface defects. Sharp durable points
enable repeated precision control and the gold-coated tips provide a frame of reference for depth. The extremely
durable handles stand up to repeated malleting when used to promote fibrotic response on chondral surfaces.
Ring and Cup Curettes and Osteotomes are ideal for bone removal in both open and arthroscopic procedures.
The curettes have long shafts to allow for deeper access within the joint, and the osteotomes have ergonomic
and durable handles to allow for repeated malleting.

Bio-Compression Screws
3 mm/3.5 mm Bio-Compression Screw
For fracture and osteotomy fixation in periarticular applications, this screw offers interfragmentary compression
and a headless profile to promote healing. Produced from solid enhanced PLLA and designed for excellent
thread-to-bone contact, the Bio-Compression Screw provides excellent strength during insertion and healing.
Eliminates – Metal screw removal, screw head impingement, imaging scatter
Self-compressing – Using a stepped thread pitch and a taper, this screw draws two
fragments together without the need to overdrill/lag the proximal piece
Headless and absorbable – With zero prominence above the cortex and
zero image on x-ray, this is as close to a natural repair as possible
Straightforward instrumentation – A simple low cost set ensures
proper drill depth and tapping with no guesswork
Fixation of small bone fragments – Femoral condyle, patella,
talus, metatarsals, radial head, navicular, and metacarpals

Arthrex ACP Double Syringe System
Autologous blood products have created a growing interest for use in a number of therapies. The healing
effects of plasma are supported by growth factors released by platelets. These growth factors induce a
healing process wherever they are applied. Platelet rich plasma has been used to enhance bone healing
in fractures, wounds, tendon and ligament injuries, pain relief, and reduced scarring.
Features and Benefits:
• The ACP (Autologous Conditioned Plasma) System
allows for rapid and efficient concentration of
platelets and growth factors from autologous
blood, for use at the treatment site.
• The unique double syringe design allows for
convenient and safe handling, as the whole
preparation process takes place in a closed
system.
• The ACP System is more affordable, easier
to use, and has a quicker procedure time when
compared to other conventional PRP devices.
• White and red blood cells are NOT concentrated
within the ACP system. These cells can cause a
detrimental effect on the healing process due to
release of degradative proteins and reactive
oxygen species.

IRAP II
Defects in articular cartilage can induce osteoarthritis by causing molecular changes in the synovial
fluid. Research in molecular biology discovered the major inducer of osteoarthritis was the general
inflammatory cytokine interleukin-1 (IL-1) which plays a key role in accelerating tissue destruction
and the repair mechanisms.
In a healthy joint, IL-1 and interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra) are in balanced concentrations.
In cases of osteoarthritis, there is not sufficient IL-1Ra produced to block the destructive effects of
the increased IL-1. The result is inflammation, joint pain, and eventually cartilage destruction.
In the IRAP II, monocytes (a type of white blood cell) bind to the glass beads. The cells are then
stimulated to produce regenerative and anti-inflammatory proteins without the addition of drugs.
This process takes place over an incubation period of 24 hours.
IRAP II is used to treat mild to moderate osteoarthritis.
IRAP II Equipment:
Arthrex IRAP II (Kit contains one Arthrex IRAP II device with dual ports,
one 60 mL syringe and one butterfly cannula)

In osteoarthritis, IL-1 is produced in
large amounts and binds to receptor
sites on the cartilage signaling cell
destruction.
In the Arthrex IRAP II System, monocytes bind to the beads stimulating the
regenerative and anti-inflammatory
proteins during incubation.
Introduction of IRAP II serum into
the joint.
The IRAP II serum has high concentrations
of regenerative and inhibitory proteins that
block the effects of destructive proteins like
IL-1, by filling the receptors on the cartilage
with IL-1Ra.
