To Our Valued Store Manager,
The Health Sciences Musical, established by the students of the Bachelor of Health Sciences
(BHSc) program at McMaster University, is a yearlong project run entirely by BHSc students with
the purpose of raising money for various charitable causes. The musical has promoted creativity
and collaboration amongst students from all years of the program. We will be working together
throughout the year to put on a spectacular original performance of song and dance. This will
be the 8th annual BHSc musical and one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. We
hope to be able to continue this tradition for years to come! Approximately 70-80 students in
the cast, band and crew will participate in this year’s musical and over 800 people will attend
this event. The performances will be held on three evenings in early April 2015, and will be
open to students, staff, friends, alumni, parents, and residents of the McMaster and Hamilton
community. In addition, the Health Sciences Musical is a not-for-profit club and all proceeds from the
shows will be donated to charitable initiatives. The money raised this year will be split between
the Bachelor of Health Sciences Scholarship, a scholarship for BHSc students that rewards
academic excellence and community involvement, and the Stand Up Theatre Company, a grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to granting underprivileged youth in Hamilton valuable
theatre and dance opportunities. Our support for these initiatives reflects our advocacy for the
role of the arts in improving and transforming lives. Last year, we raised over $10 000 dollars for
our charities. This year we hope to exceed that amount.
It is with these worthy causes in mind that we would like to request a sponsorship from your
company. Your donation will be truly appreciated, and will help us increase both our production
value and support for our charitable initiatives. We will also recognize your generous donation at
our numerous promotional events as well as during the performances. Once again, thank you for

The Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Program Scholarship
Established in 2004 by students, alumni, faculty,
staff, and friends of the Bachelor of Health
Sciences (Honours) Program in the Faculty of
Health Sciences. The scholarship is awarded
to a student in the Bachelor of Health Sciences
(Honours) Program who, in the judgment of the
program, demonstrates outstanding academic
achievement. Preference will be given to a student
who has made significant volunteer contributions
within the Hamilton and McMaster University
communities. The value of the scholarship
is $1,000, which may be used to help subsidize the student’s costs associated with their
volunteer contributions, such as travel. In 2014 we are fortunate to be able to award three
scholarships. This is made possible by the donations and fundraising initiatives of BHSc
students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends.
