M25:FightingForAJustCause ByMarkRichardson Mission: M25’s great desireistobeaplaceof‘HOPE’ for those o)en overlooked and/or neglected. We believe individualscanriseoutoftheir past defeats and become champions in the Kingdom of God. King David modeled this when 400 “distressed or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their leader” (1 Sam. 22:2). Out of brokenness came some valiantwarriors! Lt. Gen. Jerry Boykin and GreenBeretStuWeberteamed together to write “The Warrior’s Soul.” In this book theycapturedtheheartofFive Powerful Principles To Make You A Stronger Man of God. This book helps apply the techniquesofatruewarriorby emphasizing five core elements: 1. A Transcendent Cause - A cause greater than self – why wefight.Thisistheenginethat drivestheWarriorSoul. 2. A Se#led Memory – The Sheer Power of History Remembered. This is the link between history and current circumstances. 3. A Personal Intensity – One Man’s Anxiety Is Another Man’s Adrenaline. We are eager for challenges and undistracted by personal issues. 4. An Unflagging Op+mism – This is the Warrior’s Quiet, Professional Confidence - an absolutecommitmenttonever surrender! 5. A Deep Camaraderie – We Never Go Into Ba-le Alone. LeaveNoManBehind!Thisisa personalcommitmenttofellow warriors. M25 has developed a study guide resource that compliments this book. The goal is to develop our spiritual walk and become a valiant warriorinGod’sKingdom. One of the encouragements of Lt. Gen. Boykin is to find a “just cause”andtoworkfulfillingit. Mission:M25isoneofthose ministriesthat excel atfigh0ng for a “just cause.” Let me men$ontwoofthosecausesas we advance God’s Kingdom into the dark places of the Enemy. In May we will ride for the th 12 straight year serving our Veterans on ‘Run For The Wall 2016.’ Many of our Vietnam Veterans are s)ll hur)ng from the scars of their past. We believe the Church can be a healing balm for their soul as weleadthemintoaredeeming rela%onship with the ul%mate SoulWarrior,JesusChrist. This year we will mobilize 65 people, 30 motorcycles, and 8 truckandtrailerteamsfromall over the United States. On each Hydra*on Trailer there will be a banner displaying the names of Churches and individuals that have helped financially support our efforts of love and apprecia.on. One Veteran stood and read the names of thoselisted and with tears in his eyes said, “I didn’t know the church really cared, wow.” Our travels from California to Washington, DC will bring us down Interstate 40, through North Carolina on May 24-25. We would love to see our churches show up on the overpasses and bridges withsignsof“WelcomeHome” or banners expressing the Churches apprecia,on to the Veterans for our physical and religiousfreedoms. Our second “just cause” we invite you to be part of is the “50CCDiaperRun”andPro-Life Rallies!Cornerstonewillhosta Pro-Life Rally on July 11. We encourage you to show up in forcewithdiapers orcash gi0s for The Royal Home Ministries in Falcon, NC. From their beginning, The Royal Home Ministries has strived to provide an “alterna.ve” to abor%on. Your gi((s) to The Royal Home will make an avenue for unwed mothers to givelifetotheirchildanditwill also prevent the damaging effects of the decision of abor%on later in the mother’s life. Many of our churches have little to no material for their archives. Now I must acknowledge that many folks never considered photos, minutes from business meetings, bulletins, programs, and other materials as important for a church. Yet now is the day to begin an archives program for your church. Our Archives Collection is built upon the hopes, dreams, faith, and love of our past and current members. This provides a glimpse into our past and a hope for the future. The last article provided some help to begin your archives. Soon we will be able to scan important photos, programs, and documents for your church. Please contact us for any help. As we approach our Annual Conference in June, please contact me and let us join hands to establish your church archives. July 29-30, 2016 Theology II September 2-3, 2016 Leadership October 7-8, 2016 Book of Romans WHATCANTHERIGHTEOUSDO? ByDarrellGreene “Ifthefoundationsbe destroyed, whatcanthe righteousdo?” Psalm11:3 We hear a lot of disturbing rhetoric today about foundations in the church, home, and nation that are floundering.Thisisnotthefirst time this has happened. In Psalm11,KingDavidaskedthe same question about his generation 3000 years ago. Things that we have historically held as essential to our faith, family, and future, are now under serious assault and theresultisaninstability that undermines our verypeaceandsecurity. Most of us are deeply disturbed about recent positions adopted by our SupremeCourt,Congress,State and Municipal governing bodies. The sanction and legalization of same-sex marriage; the recent rulings regarding the rights of transgender individuals; the present political presidential campaigns; the secularization of America by government, media, and education resulting in the attack on true Christianity...all of these produce a crisis for Christian faith and culture of enormous magnitude. David asked the question, “What can the righteous do." Do we just run away in fear like a bird fleeing toamountainforsafety(vs.1). No, there are three things he recommendsthatwedo. 1. See God in His Holy Temple (vs. 4). This speaks of our worship. Thegreatestthingwe can do in these troubled times is to remain faithful in our worship to God. Worshiping Godkeepsourfaithstrongand our focus true. Psalm 73:17 says, “When I went into the sanctuary, then I understood theirend..." 2. See God on His Heavenly Throne (vs. 4). This speaks of ourconfidence.Weneedtobe reminded that our God is sovereignly seated upon the throne of Heaven and controls the affairs of men. No matter how out-of-control things may appear, God is directing the affairs of this world and our lives with a steady hand. We canbeconfidentinHim. 3. See God in the Hard Tests (vs. 5) "The Lord tests the righteous..." This speaks of our faithfulness. Even though the foundations may be destroyed around us, they must not be destroyed beneath us. The real question is...Will we remain strong and faithful to stand upon the foundation of God's eternaltruth?WillwetrustGod and wait upon His vindication and deliverance? That is the ultimate test. That is what the righteous can do. The world is passing away along with its desiresbuthethatdoesthewill of God will abide forever. (1 John2:17) I’M BACK! ARE YOU COMING? WILLYOUGIVETO GLOBALOUTREACH? 4 1 2 3 ByGarryYea)s The majority of ar.cles I submit for the Cornerstone Connec&on deal with ma0ers pertaining to the Biblical Ministries Ins*tute. However, in this ar)cle I feel compelled toaddressaconcernregarding ministerial candidates. I humbly ask that you con/nue reading, and hear my heart speaking. Luke records the incident of the Apostles John and Peter makingtheirwaytothetemple to pray in Acts, chapter three. Outside the gate called Beau%ful, a lame man got Peter’sa)en+onandaskedhim for a monetary dona,on to assist with his personal needs. Peter’s response was, “Silver andgoldIdonothave[whichis proof Peter was not the first Pope],butwhatIdohaveIgive you:InthenameofJesusChrist of Nazareth, rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6). If you’re familiar withtheaccount, youknowthe lame man received far more thanheexpected. Peter was conscious he didn’t have any money to give thelameman.Therearemany people today who opt to carry their debit card rather than cash. Based on his tes.mony, he didn’t even have two mites torubtogether.ButPeterwas confident that he had somethingtogivethemanthat wasbe'erthanmoney. It was healing power that was resident in the Holy Spirit promp%ng Peter to speak with confidence. And herein is my pointthatleadstomyconcern. Can you give what you don’t have?Iheardaboutapreacher who answered the ques.on this way in a sermon he preached, “You can no more give what you ain’t got than you can come from where you ain’tbeen!” Occasionally a brother or sister in Christ who has not “CanYouGiveWhatYouAin’tGot OrComeFromWhereYouAint’Been?” “As a church, we believe Jesus when He said that the Father wouldfaithfullyandconsistentlygivetheHolySpirittoeveryone whoasksfortheHolySpirit.” received the Pentecostal bap$sm and has been a member of one of our local churches for some +me will sense God’s call to preach. They believe the experience of the Pentecostal bap.sm is Biblical, available, and a major component of the doctrinal posi%on of the church; however, they have not received the Pentecostal bap$sm as Luke establishes in the Pentecostal Pa,ern in the Book of Acts. They have the indwellingpresenceoftheHoly Spiriteverybelieverreceivesat the moment of their salva)on, yet they have not received the infillingpoweroftheHolySpirit thatcomeswiththebap.sm. I am convinced that every Pentecostal preacher should have the Pentecostal bap/sm. Believing in the experience without receiving the bap1sm will hamper any effort in leading other believers into its fullness. It’s like “giving what you ain’t got, or coming from whereyouain’tbeen.” It is reported that George Whi$ield, one of the great preachers during the Great Awakening in the American th Colonies in the 16 Century was preaching to a group of men. A'er the sermon was delivered he was speaking privately to a man a.er the service that had not given his hearttotheLord.Heaskedthe man, “What do you believe?” The man responded, “Well, I believe the same thing as the church.” Whi*ield then asked the man, “And what does the church believe?” The man answered, “Well, they believe the same as me.” Whi,ield could see he was ge-ng nowhere with the man so he thenasked,“Andwhatisitthat you both believe?” The man thoughtforamomentandsaid, “Well,Isupposewebelievethe samething.” As a church, we believe Jesus when He said that the Father would faithfully and consistentlygivetheHolySpirit to everyone who asks for the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:9-13). I urge all who are applying for ministerial creden-als to seek for the experience of the Pentecostal bap-sm. Can you givewhatyouain’tgotorcome fromwhereyouain’tbeen? STAY CONNECTED!
