RE: Results of Test Evaluation on Our Aluminum Wheel Remanufacturing Process
Transwheel, the nation's premier provider of replacement wheels, recently contracted with
Independent Test Services (the same engineering firm that test wheels for all the North
American OE wheel manufacturers) to determine the effect of the Transwheel Remanufacturing
Process (TRP) on the structural integrity of aluminum wheels. The wheels were evaluated on
the three primary tests used to assess the OEM and SAE standards, as well as against new
wheels. The parameters and results of this testing are as follows:
Test One - Radial Fatigue
Test Measure: This test stresses the wheel, with particular focus on the center hub of the
wheel, with a heavier than normal load in a straight-line simulation.
Test Results: Wheels refinished per the TRP not only passed and exceeded both SAE and OEM
acceptance measures, they also exceeded the performance of the pristine wheels.
Test Two - Rotary Fatigue
Test Measure: This test stresses the wheel, with particular focus on the center hub of the
wheel, with a heavier than normal load in a cornering simulation.
Test Results: Wheels refinished per the TRP not only passed and exceeded both SAE and OEM
acceptance measures, they also exceeded the performance of the pristine wheels.
Test Three - Side Impact
Test Measure: This test simulates impacting/curbing the wheel at high speeds.
Test Results: Wheels refinished per the TRP not only passed SAE and OEM acceptance
measures, they also equaled the performance of the pristine wheels.
Test Summary
The wheels evaluated per the Transwheel Process (TRP) passed all three test established for
the OEM and SAE standards. In addition, of significant note, the wheels remanufactured per the
TRP performed as well as the new wheels on the side impact test and exceeded the new wheels
on both the rotary fatigue and radial fatigue tests.
