General Architecture
The Velocar Red & Speed (VRS) units detect offences. The relevant data (encrypted and signed)
are transferred to the central server and stored with the support of a database.
VDM (Velocar Data Manager), running over the server, allows to manage all collected
data directly from the same server or from different client stations.
VDM provides, through a single interface with multiple access levels, all the functionalities
required for ordinary use and maintenance of the entire system.
Each user can access the features consistently with the assigned usertype.
The on-site access to data through the secure WiFi connection allows to use the system for
the immediate challenge of the offenses.

SPEED and TRAFFIC LIGHT
Compact and highly integrated. Survey of violations of speed and traffic light in a single system.
OCR
Automatic number plate recognition certificate Class A (UNI 10772).
Support for all European and Extra UE Number Plates. Support for Arabic character number
plates.
TWO LANES
Detection at the same time on two lanes of all passing vehicles with automatic distinction of
the lane.
TRAFFIC LIGHT DETECTION WITHOUT LOOPS
No loops to be installed for the detection of traffic light violations, detection based on real-time
images processing algorithms.
VIDEO
Ability to create a video to document the offense of traffic light.
DOUBLE CAMERA
Dual camera gray level and color to guarantee the readability of the plate in gray level image
and recognition of the shape and color of the vehicle on the color image.
INVISIBILE ILLUMINATOR
Infrared illuminator integrated within the system and invisible in all light/weather conditions.
VEHICLE CLASSIFICATIONS
Automatic classification of vehicles into seven classes performed through the magnetic loops
used for the detections of the speed. Different speed limits for each class detected on the
equipment set.
GPS
Date and time synchronization via GPS and geotagging built in each image.
AUTHENTICITY AND DATA SECURITY
Digital signature of the offenses and subsequent AES encryption directly inside the VRS.
INTERNAL MEMORY
Internal storage of offenses in case of lack of connection with the operations center and
automatic retransmission when the link becomes available.
REMOTE CONTROL
Remote control for automatic data download and diagnostics.
STATISTICS
For each passing vehicle detection of: license plate, speed, class, and date and time. Automatic
generation of traffic statistics.
AUTONOMOUS SYSTEM
The low power requirement makes it possible to install the implant with power from the
photovoltaic panels ensuring an operation of several days even in the presence of unfavorable
weather conditions.

of data generated by devices Velocar Speed & Red (VRS).

Programming with hourly resolution of periods of activity and inactivity of the units Velocar
Red & Speed and speed limits according to class.
DATA BASE SEARCH
Search in the data base is extremely flexible and immediate with the possibility of constructing
custom filters.
LANE PRIVACY MASK
Auto-darkening (pixelize) lanesnot involvedin the infringement.
SECOND LEVEL OCR
A second level OCR engine (First level is inside VRS) perform automatic reading of number
plates in order to reduce global error rate.
ADVANCED VIDEO CLASSIFICATION
An automatic image processing system allows to further improve the classification
vehicular produced by VRS.

Traffic Light Validation
The image shows the VDM interface used for the validation of red light offenses.
There are two black and white images that document the presence of plaque before
and after the stop line and the four color images documenting the crossing of the
intersection by the offending vehicle.
Are also highlighted times yellow and timing progressive red.
Is possible to configure VRS in order to save also an AVI color video.

Traffic Statistics
The image shows a statistic on the volume of traffic on the 24 hours with the vehicle classes.
For each vehicle are recorded the following data:
• Date and Time
• Number Plate
• Speed
• Class (7 classes)
• Lane number
All these data are entered automatically into the database of central server.
The program allows VDM to build custom statistics based on data available.
VDM interface provides a flexible and powerful tool for the construction of custom statistics.
You can export the statistics in graphical and tabular form in various formats.

Police investigation
Powerful search engine for vehicle number plate. Data base of all number plates and not
only number plate of violations.
VDM are able to manage multiple number plate lists. For each list you can define a list of
contacts enabled to receive notifications. When a vehicle belonging to a list is detected by a
VRS units, a notification is generated in real time.
Notifications could be SMS and/or email alert.
VDM support black list import from external source (files or data base).
The data base hold a track of all matches in the lists. You can browse through data base by
VDM user interface.
Black List management and search in the data base of number plate is reserved to a
dedicated user level of VDM.

Average Speed Enforcement
Velocar Red&Speed systems are available also for Average speed control.
The global hardware architecture is very light and modular.
In order to save network bandwidth between gates and central server, the system can be configured
in order to transfer on the central server only the images related to a real violation.
The time reference is provided by the GPS unit integrated in the VRS.
The speed limits can be differentiated by class of vehicle (7 classes)
