Stag Water Injection Flowline Installation – Apache Energy Limited
Project Description
Apache Energy Ltd awarded DOF Subsea the contract for Flowline and Riser
Installation on the Stag Water Injection Project. The project involved upgrading
the existing Stag Central Production Facility (CPF) with the installation of a new
8” OD water injection flowline system (including 3.2 km flexible flowline).
The Stag CPF is located approximately 60 km northwest of Dampier in 47 m of
water. The onshore scope of work for the Stag Water Injection Project included
project management, installation engineering, procurement, supply, fabrication and
final handover of all as-built documentation and data. The offshore operations
were performed in three phases:
Phase 1 - Installation of the platform 8” riser and riser clamps using rope
access from the CPF, installation of subsea riser clamps, subsea riser and
subsea riser spool by air divers from the Apache provided vessel Mermaid
Investigator.
Phase 2 - Installation of the subsea well template, strategic anchors, laying
of 3.2 km flexible 8” flowline and concrete mattresses, pre-commissioning
and post-installation surveys using air divers and ROV from the SV Geosea.
Phase 3 - Metrology, fabrication and installation of the U-spool tree
between the christmas tree J-spool and flowline L-Spool using air divers
from jack-up drill rig Ensco106.

Sakhalin Island Diving & ROV Campaign – Saipem (Sakhalin Energy Investment Co.)
Project Description
The Sakhalin II Project is a development of offshore oil and gas fields on the
north-eastern shelf of Sakhalin Island, Russia. There are two production fields
associated with the project. Piltun-Astokhshoye (PA) is an oil field with associated
gas and Lunskoye (LUN) is a gas field with associated condensate.
DOF Subsea was contracted for the provision of subsea installation vessel DSV
Geosea complete with saturation diving services for execution of various subsea
construction and inspection projects offshore Sakhalin Island.
The workscope included:
Tie-ins at PA-B and LUN-A platforms
Blind flange removal at the CGBS
Installation of hatch protection rings and LUN-A CGBS
Search and recover broken Tow-wire at PA-B
Conduct ROV profile survey of scour protection PA-B
Search for ADCP and ITS at LUN-A

Sakhalin Field SALM Buoy Replacement – Sakhalin Energy Investment Company
Project Description
The Single-anchor leg mooring in Sakhalin, connected to the FSO OKHA, suffered
a break at the base foundation and needed repair.The SALM was installed in 1999
with an unique design that allows the system to be laid down on the seabed
during winter time. In November 2007 the SALM detached from the seabed just
before the end of the season.
DSV Geosea provided construction services, including onshore engineering,
saturation and air diving and ROV services to assist with the replacement of the
damaged SALM buoy. The workscope included:
Flushing of the SALM Base pipe work
Cleaning & survey of the SALM base foundation
Removal of old tripod and uni-joint from foundation base
Subsea cutting of old installation structure
Installation of new tripod structure
Overboard and position Linear winch to seabed
SALM sea-fastening de-rigging and preparations
SALM ballasting and pull down to base
Flowline and mooring line re-instatement
Molikpaq pipeline survey
Project Outcome
The SALM was successfully re-installed, the schedule was kept to a minimum and
the project was delivered on time with a perfect safety record allowing the oil
production season to commence on target.

Pyrenees Project – Acergy Australia / BHP Billiton Petroleum
Project Description
The BHP Billiton Pyrenees Field Development located off the North West of
Western Australia comprises the tieback of the Ravensworth, Crosby and Stickle
fields to a new FPSO moored to a disconnectable submersible turret system.
DOF Subsea were contracted in order to provide construction support and air
diving services with the SV Geobay and SV Geosea, complete with two work class
ROVs on each vessel.
The workscope comprised:
Air Diving for the remedial works on the DTM
Installation and Stabilisation of 57 electrical flying leads (EFL) and 32
hydraulic flying leads (HFL)
Removal of 13 No multiphase flow meter from subsea manifolds,
replacement with dummy spools, subsequent removal of dummy spools
and re-installation of refurbished MPFM’s.
Gas Lift Jumper Installation
Umbilical over flexible crossings stabilisation
FPSO Floating Rope installation and DTM buoy support activites
FPSO riser pull-ins
Testing each flowline system
Pre-commissioning Support / Cold commissioning support
Project Outcome
The offshore execution was successfully completed to the highest standards of
quality and safety on a timely and cost effective basis. No recordable incidents or
injuries, the client schedules were met at each phase. Successful implementation
of hand free initiative with regards to rigging.

Wheatstone Geotechnical Investigation - Chevron
Project Description
The Wheatstone project lies in the North West shelf area of Western Australia
and includes the development of the Wheatstone gas field and the adjacent Iago
gas field located in the North West Shelf region of Western Australia. DOF Subsea
were contracted by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd for the provision of vessel MV
Geobay and personnel service for geotechnical survey works to be performed on
the Wheatstone project.
The objective of the survey was to gather sufficient geotechnical data to allow
the design of the foundations that will support the various offshore facilities and
the design of the flowlines and export pipeline to ensure stability. To enable
completion of the workscope a geotechnical coring rig supplied by Gardline
Marine Sciences Pty Ltd was installed onto the Geobay.
Scope included platform geotechnical site survey comprising:
Deployment of a seabed PCPT/T-Bar device, gravity piston corer, box
corer and bulk sampling equipment (grab sampler)
Sampling and PCPT testing in downhole (API) mode, including measurement
of P and S wave velocity in completed boreholes
Piggy-back coring in the more competent calcarenite layers at the WP site
and at some locations along the Export Pipeline route
100 m deep boreholes
Project Outcome
The offshore execution was successfully completed within schedule and the client
was extremely pleased with offshore performance and safety record.

Blacktip Field Development Construction Support - Saipem Portugal (ENI Australia)
Project Description
DSV Geosea provided construction support services to perform saturation
diving works for the GEP spool and SSIV installation associated with the Blacktip
Gas Field Project.
The Workscope included:
Installation of 18” spool from the Blacktip Platform to the SSIV
Installation of SSIV
Flooding of the 18” Gas export pipeline
Flooding of the 6” HDPE prduced water discharge pipeline
Installation of tie-in dogleg spool from the SSIV to the Gas Export Pipeline
Installation of the SSIV control umbilical from the Blacktip Platform J-Tube
to the SSIV
Installation of a produced water outfall diffuser (12msw)
Flooding of a 12” pipeline, removal of head and blind installtion (17 msw)

Pohokura and Maui Subsea Inspection Program - Shell Todd Oilfield Services
Pohokura 2” Methanol Line Stabilisation - Shell Exploration NZ Limited
Project Description
The Maui field has a maximum water depth of 120 m and is located in the Tasman
Sea off the Taranaki West Coast of New Zealand. Two offshore production units,
Maui A and Maui B with subsea pipelines connect the installations to an onshore
production station at Oanui. The Pohokura Field lies offshore New Zealand,
approximately 20 km northeast of New Plymouth.
Methanol Line Stabilisation Project
Provision of SV Geobay to provide pipeline free span rectification for 16 km of 2”
Methanol Line and scour remediation works at the Pohokura Platform.
The scope of work involved SeaMat, Grout Stick and Grout Mat installation.
Inspection Program for Maui A, Maui B and Pohokura platforms
and associated pipelines.
DOF Subsea was contracted for the provision of a detailed underwater Survey and
Inspection programme of works covering the facilities in the Maui and Pohokura
fields The platforms required visual, CP and FMD and the pipelines required visual
and CP (contact and trailing wire). A complete service was provided to STOS i.e.
vessel, ROV, inspection, survey and all associated personnel.

Esso Ethanol Line Emergency Repair - Esso Australia
Project Description
After a container ship dragged its anchor in a storm and snagged a 10” ethanol
pipeline in Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne, Esso Australia contracted DOF Subsea for
the initial multi-beam survey and subsequent construction activities to repair the
damaged pipeline.
DOF Subsea provided the SV Geobay to undertake this work plus diving, ROV
and survey services
The work involved DOF Subsea divers cutting and removing the damaged section
of pipeline, then, using mechanical connectors, replaced the damaged section with
5 separate spool pieces.
Project Outcome
The pipeline was repaired in a commendably short time frame through the efforts
of a conscientious and hard-working team of very capable personnel.
This very successful outcome was achieved without injury to any person or harm
to the environment.

Longtom Field Development - Nexus / Trident Darwin JV
Project Description
The Longtom Field is located approximately 31 km from the nearest landfall in
south-eastern Victoria in Bass Strait.
DOF Subsea and TS Marine JV (Joint Venture) were awarded a Contract by
Nexus Energy for the provision of the DSV Rem Etive complete with the D300
Saturation diving system.
The scope of work included:
Installation of 4” flexible production jumper and 2” flexible gas lift jumper
Installation of Hydraulic & Electrical Flying Leads
Relocation and connection of pre-installed umbilical
Spool and umbilical tie-ins
Pre-Commisioning
Project Outcome
The offshore execution was successfully completed to the highest standards of
quality and safety on a timely and cost effective basis.
Gas production from the Longtom project commenced on 22 October 2009.

Pluto AUV Seabed Survey - Woodside Energy Ltd
Project Description
DOF Subsea were contracted for the acquisition of Autonomous Underwater
Vehicle (AUV) Sub Bottom Profiler (SBP), Side Scan Sonar (SSS) and Multibeam
Bathymetry data over the Pluto field, Interfield flowline routes and along the
export flowline route from deep water to the 150m depth contour.
The Pluto field site survey was approx. 4,000 line km.
The data was collected using the SV Geosea and our Hugin 3000 AUV.

Mutineer Exeter Phase IV Subsea Operations - Santos Limited
Project Description
DOF Subsea was awarded a contract by Santos for subsea intervention in the
Mutineer and Exeter field development, approximately 150 km north of Dampier.
The work program comprised:
Installing a spoolpiece bundle to tie-in the EP5 flow base to the Exeter
multiphase pump manifold;
Installing / replacing various items of equipment on the Exeter manifold,
including multiphase flowmeters (MPFMs) and a Modem Pod;
Installing a total of 9 fly-to-place (FTP) jumpers;
Inspections and as-built surveys of the Mutineer and Exeter subsea
production centres.
The project was completed using the SV Geosea with saturation diving and work
class ROVs.

Project Description
DOF Subsea was contracted by Woodside Energy Limited for the provision of the
subsea installation vessel MV Geosea, saturation diving services, ROV services and
survey support for the execution of various subsea construction and inspection
projects, including the Perseus Over Goodwyn (POG) project and the Cossack
Wanaea Lambert Hermes (CWLH) tie ins.
The work included:
subsea flowline tie-ins,
subsea diver surveys,
pipeline inspection,
umbilical replacement & subsea repairs.

Bunga Orkid Field Development Construction Support - Swiber Offshore
Project Description
DOF Subsea Asia Pacific were contracted by Swiber Offshore Construction Pte
Ltd to perform subsea works associated with the Talisman Malaysia Limited (TML)
Bunga Orkid and Bunga Pakma oil and gas fields at the northern part of the PM3
Commercial Arrangement Area,, as part of the Northern Fields Development.
The Northern Fields Development project consists of three Wellhead Riser
Platforms and a Central Processing Platform, with future provision for an additional
Wellhead Riser Platform at the Bunga Pakma field.
The subsea works to be performed from DOF Subsea’s DSV Geosea included
installation of tie-in spools, as well as debris removal and ROV survey operations.

Maari Field Development Construction Support - OMV New Zealand / Clough
Project Description
DOF Subsea Asia Pacific were contracted by Clough / OMV New Zealand for the
provision of construction support during platform installation using the Geobay
and 2 Work Class ROV Systems.
The Maari field is located in the offshore Taranaki Basin, off the west coast of the
North Island of New Zealand and it lies in approximately 100 - 105 m of water.
The program included:
Recovery of the jacking strand used during the installation of the platform
diverless flowline connection operations

Pluto Field Development Construction Support - Acergy / Woodside Energy
Project Description
DOF Subsea Asia Pacific were contracted by Acergy to provide diving services
during the installation of spool pieces and associated works at the Pluto platform
located on the North West shelf, approx. 160 km West-North-West of Dampier,
Western Australia.
The 12 man C300 saturation diving system was mounted onto the Toisa Proteus
for the duration of the diving works. The workscope included:
Structure, spool and riser blind flange and metrology bracket removal
Pig launcher / receiver removal
Re-positioning and installation of wet stored spool pieces

Project Description
DOF Subsea Asia Pacific were contracted by European Marine Contractors
(EMC) B.V (on behalf of Saipem Asia Sdn Bhd) for the provision of Diving Services
related to the installation of the offshore pipelines and facilities for the Third
Transmission Pipeline Project – Part 3 for PTT Public Company Limited PLC
(PTT) and the Offshore Pipeline System – A18 to B17 Gas Pipeline Project for
Trans Thai-Malaysian Limited (TTM).
The scope of the services included the provision of DOF Subsea’s DSV Geosea

Cyclone Mooring Site Survey - Chevron
Project Description
DOF Subsea undertook geophysical and geotechnical surveys across the North
West Shelf region as part of Chevron’s Cyclone Mooring investigation.The purpose
of the surveys was to assess potential sites for moorings to shelter vessels during
cyclones. The proposed mooring sites were to be investigated for their suitability
to secure vessels safely to the seabed through a set of specially installed anchors.
As such, determining the thickness and consistency of the substrate across the
survey sites were the two primary goals.
Geophysical survey work was done using the MV Lauri J and the MV Atlas
2000 equipped with GeoAcoustics Swath bathymetric and subbottom seismic
profiling systems. Towed underwater camera and video surveys were undertaken
to coincide with the geophysical work for an environmental assessment to be
obtained using small boats on a 12 hour basis based off the larger vessels. The
bathymetry, shallow seismic profiles and the environmental data was processed
and interpreted onboard so as to be able to select where to gather geotechnical
samples using a vibracorer and a grab sampler.
Project Outcome
Geophysical and environmental data acquisition proceeded with no problems and
was conducted safely to meet the high technical geophysical and geotechnical
specifications required to survey the many remote marine basins identified across
the North West Shelf survey area. A number of suitable anchor mooring options
were successfully located.

Malampaya Annual Pipeline Inspection Campaign - SPEX
Project Description
The Malampaya Deep Water Gas-to-Power project represents the largest and
most significant industrial investment in the history of the Philippines. Gas
extracted from 3,000 m below the sea level flows through five subsea wellheads
to a manifold in 820 m water depth. Two 30 km flowlines transport the gas to
a shallow water production platform where the gas is dried then transported
through a 504 km, 24” subsea pipeline from the platform in offshore Palawan
to the on-shore gas plant in Batangas where gas is further processed and finally
delivered to three combined-cycle gas turbine power plant.
Shell Philippines Exploration (SPEX) has contracted the annual inspection to DOF
Subsea to provide ROV, Inspection and Survey services continuosly since 2001.
The campaign is operated from the SPEX platform support vessel Lady Guru,
mobilising out of Batangas in the Philippines. The inspection is conducted by ROV
in water depths down to 850 m. An outline of the assets for inspection is listed

SPEX Surveillance of rock berm in VIP
Project Description
The Malampaya Gas Export Pipeline (24”) passes through the Verde Island Passage
between the Islands of Verde, Mindoro and Luzon. In April 2007, the annual pipeline
inspection noted some pipeline displacement in this region.
The cause of the displacement was turbidity currents associated with typhoons
and heavy rainfall. To protect the pipeline from further movement a rock berm
was installed in 2009 along the displaced section of the pipeline.
To ensure the rock berm provided the designed future protection, a monitoring
program of the installed rock berm is planned. As part of the service contract
with DOF Subsea, Shell Philippines Exploration (SPEX) requested DOF Subsea
to produce a procedure for a high-resolution survey to facilitate monitoring of
the Rock Berm, in detecting and quantifying detrimental changes from the 2009
As-built data.
In addition to the rock berm survey, additional surveys over the subsea channels
on the north side of Mindoro to assess whether any significant sedimentation is
taking place.

VIP Tide Gauge Recovery & GEP Survey - SPEX
Project Description
The Malampaya Gas Export Pipeline (24”) passes through the Verde Island Passage
(VIP) between the Islands of Verde, Mindoro and Luzon. In 2007, the annual gas
export pipeline (GEP) survey indicated significant lateral displacement of the
pipeline in the VIP, an area of relatively high currents and sea bed movement.
In order to measure and record metocean data in this region two tide gauges
were deployed in March 2009. These moorings collected information on water
depth at key locations in the VIP. This data was used to support development of
engineering strategies for management of the GEP in the VIP. As this monitoring
period was almost complete it was planned to recover each mooring and download
the most recent data. Recovery included the use of an acoustic release unit on
each mooring and a work boat and vessel crane to aid lifting the equipment to
the vessel deck.
The Scorpion S16 ROV then conducted a visual survey of the rock placement.
Project Outcome
The tide gauges were recovered safely and efficiently, they were stripped and
cleaned with fresh water and the data was downloaded.
The GEP survey was completed on schedule with some bad visibility and strong
currents at the start of the survey.

Mindoro Offshore Survey - SPEX
Project Description
The Malampaya Gas Export Pipeline (24”) passes through the Verde Island Passage
(VIP) between the Islands of Verde, Mindoro and Luzon. In 2007, the annual gas

Further investigation using geophysical survey methods would provide information
to check the changes on the seafloor at the river mouths and assist in establishing
the properties of such currents. Shell Philippines Exploration (SPEX) contracted
DOF Subsea to provide survey services.
This project comprised an inspection of the seafloor updip around the pipeline
displacement area to acquire additional data to support flow modeling, particularly
bedform dimensions and sediment type on the seabed, with still photos, detailed
bathymetry profiles/sonar imagery, video and direct samples. provided.

Malampaya Calm Buoy Hose Replacement - SPEX
Project Description
As part of the DOF Subsea underwater services contract with Shell Philippines
Exploration B.V., DOF carried out the replacement of the two Malampaya Catenary
Anchored Leg Mooring (CALM) underbuoy hoses in the second quarter 2008.
The condensate from the metering station flows through a 24” riser and flow
line to the Catenary Anchored Leg Mooring (CALM) Buoy. The flowline is split
into two 12” flexible submarine hoses at a Pipeline End Manifold anchored to the
seabed 50 m from the CALM.
DOF Subsea was requested to provide the DSV Geosea, saturation diving spread,
ROV Spread, hose handling spread, materials and equipment together with diving,
engineering and Project Management personnel to engineer and project manage
the replacement of the underbuoy hoses
Project Outcome
The key priority was to meet customer gas nominations. No action could be
taken while undertaking the work that could negatively impact on gas production.
Therefore it was imperative the work was undertaken between condensate off
takes in accordance with the approved schedule.
The old underbuoy hoses were wet stored and new hoses were installed and
tested safely with no recordable LTI’s..

HMAS Sydney Search - The Finding Sydney Foundation
Project Description
The Australian light cruiser HMAS SYDNEY II and the German auxiliary cruiser
HSK KORMORAN engaged in battle in the Indian Ocean of WA on 19 November
1941 during World War II. The HMAS SYDNEY was lost with all 645 crew
members and the HSK KORMORAN was scuttled of the Western Australian
coast after it was abandoned by its crew. Neither wreck was found and positively
identified.The Finding Sydney Foundation, was established to find the wreck of the
HMAS SYDNEY and to commemorate its missing crew.
DOF Subsea was contracted by The Finding Sydney Foundation to undertake the
survey from the vessel SV Geosounder to search for the wrecks of the HMAS
SYDNEY II and the HSK KORMORAN. The search area was approximately 130
nm offshore from Dirk Hartog Island, Western Australia.
The search and survey operations were initially conducted using a Deep Towed
Side Scan Sonar.The Sonar survey was carried out in water depths between 2,300
to 4,500 m.Two weeks later the HSK Kormoran was found in 2,740 msw and four
days later the HMAS Sydney was finally discovered after 66 years in 2,468 msw.
The Comanche ROV was then deployed and took extensive video and still images
of both wrecks.
Project Outcome
The deepest ROV dive in Australian waters and possibly in Sout East Asia.
The site of the wreck is now a national memorial and the nation and the relatives
of the 645 crew lost at sea finally found closure as a 66 year old mystery was
solved.

The Bumi, Bulan and Suriya Gas Fields Development, located in the Malaysia –
Thailand Joint Development Area (JDA) consist of three wellhead platforms, the
associated pipelines and the receiving facilities at the existing Cakerawala Riser
Platform (CKR).
The Bumi, Bulan and Suriya Fields are located approximately 150 km NE of Kota
Bahru and approximately 100 km south of the Bongkot field in approximately 58
m of water.

Gorgon Deep Water Survey - Chevron
Project Description
DOF Subsea was contracted by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd to undertake offshore
ROV based geophysical, bathymetric surveys and general visual inspections, plus
trenching trials by means of jetting the seabed on the Gorgon Project.
The areas surveyed included the Gorgon, Jansz and Geryon gas Fields, located 130
to 200 km off the northwest coast of Australia.
The works were undertaken by the ROV SV Geobay with ROV’s Triton 37XL
and Triton SV. The Gorgon Upstream development includes subsea facilities
to produce gas from Gorgon and Jansz Fields to an LNG Plant which will be
located on the East coast of Barrow Island. Water depth at the Gorgon Field
is approximately 200 m, and the pipeline route length from the Gorgon Field to
Barrow Island is 66 km. Water depth at the Jansz Field is approximately 1,350 m,
and the pipeline route length from the Jansz Field to Barrow Island is 136 km.

Kermadec Seabed Mapping and Sampling - Neptune Resources
Project Description
DOF Subsea were contracted by Neptune Resources Kermadec (NRK) to
undertake seabed mapping and sampling of their license area on the seamounts of
the Kermadec volcanic arc north-east of Tauranga (North Island, New Zealand).
The work was performed by the DPSV Geosounder, the Comanche 3,000 msw
depth rated ROV and a subsea dredging unit for sediment sampling.
The project was carried out in two phases:
Phase 1 - Geophysical Survey and Mapping of the license area.
Phase 2 - Geological and Biological seabed & sediment sampling. The
seabed sampling programme aimed to collect rocks and fallen black
smoker chimneys, as well as bulk samples of SMS mineral-rich sediments.
The “bulk” samples were collected using an ROV operated dredging rig.

Pluto Offshore Pipeline Coring - Woodside Energy
Project Description
DOF Subsea was contracted by Woodside Energy limited (WEL) to undertake
the geotechnical investigation phase of the Pluto LNG Development Project. The
offshore Pluto gas field is located 190 km off the WA coast, approximately 90 km
south west of the North West Shelf Goodwyn Platform.
The geotechnical phase of the project consisted of approximately 65 core samples,
5 m long along the proposed pipeline route, corresponding to a range of water
depth from 12 m to 85 m. DOF Subsea undertook the project from the Survey
Vessel SV Geosounder, utilising a remote drill rig.
The objective of this geotechnical investigation was to define the variation of the
cemented seabed material in areas where such material outcrops at or near the
seabed, for the purpose of assessment of suitable secondary stabilisation methods
for the pipeline.
A geophysical and refraction survey of the pipeline route was undertaken and this
information assisted with the selection of the borehole locations.

Song Doc Pride MV19 Mooring Hook-up and Installation - MODEC / TSJOC
Project Description
MODEC contracted DOF Subsea’s subsidiary, SWG Offshore, in May 2008, to
undertake the mooring hook-up and jumper installation associated with the
FPSO “Song Doc Pride MV19” on behalf of the Truong Son Joint Operating
Company offshore Vietnam. The scope of work involved the project management,
engineering, procurement, fabrication and offshore construction associated with
the following activities:
Project management, installation procedures and installation analysis,
including design, specification and supply of all installation aids, temporary
materials and consumables
Specification, sourcing and mobilisation of installation spreads necessary
for the work
Receipt of FPSO, tow and manoeuvring during hook-up operations
Survey, recovery and hook-up of 12 point spread moored system to the
FPSO (pre-installed by others)
Installation of seven (7) flexible jumper hoses and one (1) power/fibreoptic umbilical between the FPSO and Wellhead Platform (WHP)
Performance of as built survey, preparation of as built documentations and
facilitation of classification society certification
Demobilisation of all installation spreads, equipment and personnel upon
completion of the work

The necessary installation spreads, including DP2 AHT, work class ROV, materials
tug and barge, etc. were sourced in Singapore and mobilised to Vung Tau, where all
personnel, materials, equipment and installation aids were loaded and transported
to the offshore site.
The FPSO and jumper hook-up work was successfully completed in accordance
with the client’s schedule to the highest standards of quality and safety to the

Ruby 2 FPSO Installation Phase I - PTSC / Petronas Carigali Vietnam
Project Description
Petroleum Technical Services Corporation (PTSC), on behalf of Petronas Carigali
Vietnam Limited (PCVL) contracted DOF Subsea’s subsidiary, SWG Offshore, to
install the Ruby 2 FPSO and associated subsea infrastructure including all project
management, engineering, procurement and fabrication associated with the
offshore installation works. Due to timing of FPSO delivery, the scope of work
was split into two phases as follows:
Phase 1
Installation of nine driven anchor piles complete with nine mooring chain
legs
Installation of structures including seven Pipeline End Manifolds (PLEM’s)
and seven Riser Tether Bases
Phase 2
Tow and hook up of FPSO to mooring spread
Installation of three 6” and four 10” flexible risers and 1.9 km of 10”
flexible flowline
Installation of two rigid dog leg spools and a rigid platform riser with
associated clamps
All required subsea tie ins and pre-commissioning of the system.
Project Outcome – Phase 1
The Phase 1 work was successfully completed utilising the large DP2 AHT Maersk
Assister with 250 t A-frame and specialist pile installation equipment sourced in
Singapore. Permanent materials were uplifted in Singapore, Port Klang and Pasir
Gudang, Malaysia and transported to Vung Tau, Vietnam via a dedicated tug and
barge spread. Specialist skidding systems were designed by DOF Subsea on the
AHT and barge to allow the work to be undertaken without the need for a crane.
Phase 1 mobilisation commenced within eight weeks of contract award and was
completed without incident to the highest standards of quality and safety and to
the complete satisfaction of our clients. Phase 2 offshore works were performed
during Q2 2010, again to the highest standards of quality and safety and to the
complete satisfaction of our clients.

Project Outcome
The FPSO, Ruby 2, was towed to site from Malaysia. Mooring hook up was
performed immediately prior to the DSV Rockwater 2 entering the field. The
DSV was mobilised from Singapore and all free issue materials were mobilised
from Vung Tau, Vietnam. The diving campaign was completed with two interim
mobilisations also from Vung Tau.
Phase 2 engineering was completed on a fast track schedule within 5 months of
mobilisation. The offshore works were completed to the highest levels of quality
and to the complete satisfaction of our clients.

Kikeh Field Development - Technip
Project Description
The Kikeh Field Development is 110 km from the island of Labuan in Malaysia and
is located in approximately 1,380 m water depth. The field development comprises
five subsea production and injection wells connected to a fixed, external turreted
FPSO via 7 risers.
The FPSO is also linked by midwater gravity actuated pipe (GAP) to a fixed SPAR
type dry tree unit. Each anchorage is comprised of a 9 point composite wire /
chain mooring c/w suction pile anchors.
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore’s scope of work included the recovery
of the pre-installed risers, (five production / injection flexibles and two umbilicals)
from the sea bed and connecting them to the FPSO turret ready for precommissioning activities. The scope included engineering analysis, procedural
development, installation aid and rigging design, full onsite construction, supervision
and manning on board the FPSO and AHT construction vessel.
Project Outcome
The project resulted in the successful recovery and hook-up of risers in circa
1,300 m water depth and expert handling of riser loads of up to 300 t in the
FPSO turret.
The offshore execution was successfully completed to the highest standards of
quality and safety on a timely and cost effective basis.

Basker Manta Gummy Oilfield Field Development - Anzon Energy Limited
Project Description
Following on from a successful Emergency Mooring Repair campaign for Anzon
Energy Limited (AZA) at Basker Manta Gummy, DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG
Offshore were contracted by AZA to further develop the Basker Manta Gummy
Oilfield in the Australia’s Bass Strait.
DOF Subsea’s scope for the field development included the PM&E, all equipment,
spreads and offshore execution of the installation of a manifold (which was
designed and fabricated by DOF Subsea); installation and tie in of a 6” flexible
flowline (3 reels); installation and tie in of an umbilical (2 reels); installation and
tie in of assorted flying leads; relocation and tie in of an existing jumper; testing
and pre commissioning the production flowline and control umbilical; and FPSO
commissioning support. The execution was completed diverless.
The ISV Rem Etive sailed to Bunbury early July 2008 for initial mobilisation of the
manifold, the flexible lay system and other installation equipment, then transited
to Melbourne for flexible flowline and umbilical reel load-outs and execution of
the work in the field.
Project Outcome
The offshore execution was successfully completed in the first week of September
2008 to the highest standards of quality and safety.
The ISV was then returned to Singapore and demobilised.

Basker Manta Gummy Oilfield Basker Spirit Mooring Repair - Anzon Energy
Project Description
Late July 2007 the Basker Spirit Shuttle Tanker’s mooring system failed, leaving
Anzon with the prospect of many months of severely hampered production at its
Basker Manta field, in the Bass Strait, off SE Australia. Anzon was faced with finding
a competent contractor to execute the mooring repair on an extremely fast track
basis in a very tight market and turned to DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore
to manage the entire work scope.
DOF Subsea successfully sourced and chartered the DP2 DSV Havila Harmony
and installed a mobile saturation dive system.The vessel was mobilised to the Bass
Strait and the work was successfully completed offshore on 17th November 2007.
In addition to the mooring repair works, DOF Subsea also installed gas lift jumpers
and changed out an SCM to improve production in the field for Anzon. The DSV
was then returned to Singapore and fully demobilized by DOF Subsea, including
the complete removal of the saturation dive system and deck reinstatement.

Basker Manta Gummy Hanger Rod - Anzon Energy
Project Description
During execution of the Basker Manta ODP2 project, DOF Subsea’s subsidiary
SWG Offshore were asked to investigate the feasibility of replacing the hanger
rod on the buoy connecting the Crystal Ocean FPSO to the subsea facilities and
to subsequently execute the work.
During an FPSO disconnect, the buoy is lowered from the FPSO and, in order to
sink the buoy to a safe water depth, a clump weight is permanently suspended
beneath the buoy. The clump weight is attached to the buoy by a 75 m wire which
is attached to the bottom of the hanger rod which in turn runs through the buoy
and is secured at the top of the buoy using a split collar arrangement. After a
period of operation Anzon became concerned about the integrity of the hanger
rod due to continuous movement causing fatigue and requested DOF Subsea
replace the hanger rod.
Project Outcome
Replacing the hanger rod entailed the REM Etive working very close (nominally
20 m separation) to the Crystal Ocean over a period of 2 to 3 days. This
required extensive SIMOPS preparation and also very detailed engineering and
assessment within a very short period of time to ensure that the operation
could be completed once started as, once started, the Rem Etive and Crystal
Ocean became connected. Again, due to the short period of preparation available,
emphasis was placed on using existing equipment onboard the REM Etive. The
work also included all necessary preparations on board the Crystal Ocean.
The offshore execution was successfully completed within the chosen weather
window.

Banjo Seahawk DMA Installation – Coflexip Stena Offshore

The Banjo/Seahawk project installation scope of work included Dead Man
Anchor’s (DMA)’s to be installed in order to lay pipe lines in the Nansen and

Riser Replacement - C.A.C.T China / Fraser Diving
Project Description
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary, SWG Offshore, were contracted by Fraser Diving
to supervise and assist with the mobilization in Singapore of the DSV Fu Lai.
DOF Subsea then supervised the deck operations in China for installation and
recovery of 12”, 8” & 6” risers from the BOP to the PLEM. This also included
developing procedures, controlling vessel and crane movements to work around
anchor patterns and mid water buoys, and controlling reel drive and tensioning
operations.

Cendor FSO & Ikdam FPSO Installation - Petrofac / Lundin Petroleum
Project Description
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore were contacted by Petrofac Engineering
to assist with the installation of two FPSO systems; the Cendor FSO in Malaysia
and the Ikdam FPSO in Tunisia.
At the Cendor field, difficulties were experienced with the subsea tensioning of
the mooring spread such that the required pre-loads could not be achieved, which
had potential to cause significant delay to first oil for the project.
DOF Subsea were requested to assist the installation contractors and to
provide solutions. DOF Subsea dispatched engineering personnel to analyse the
current situation and to develop installation procedures on site which could be
implemented. DOF Subsea then also supplied operational personnel to assist with
the successful execution of the works.

Crux FPSO Subsea Installation Study - Nexus Energy
Project Description
Nexus Energy Ltd (NEL) were in the FEED stage of the Crux FPSO development,
a project located on the North West Shelf off Australia in 175 m water depth.
As part of their assessments, Nexus contracted DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG
Offshore to evaluate different methods of installation and hook-up of the subsea
facilities, which comprises mooring systems, risers and flowlines.
The focus was on enabling the fastest possible production start up once the FPSO
arrived on site.
Project Outcome
In this study, DOF Subsea developed preliminary installation procedures and
using that information undertook various installation analyses to demonstrate
feasibility and to establish potential for clashing between the mooring system
and pre-installed risers during different stages of the works. Suitable installation
equipment was also identified and a detailed program was produced.

Dalia FPSO Development - Technip France / Total Angola
Project Description
The Dalia field is located approximately 140 km offshore Angola.The development
included a moored FPSO, offloading buoy and subsea infrastructure comprising
flowlines and manifolds.
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore were contracted to assist Technip France
with the hook up of the FPSO and the offloading buoy. DOF Subsea supplied
operational personnel to man the FPSO and all third party vessels. During
the course of the project DOF Subsea supplied personnel for all phases of the
FPSO works including mooring system installation, FPSO mobilization in Korea,
FPSO tow from Korea to Angola, hook up of both the FPSO and offloading buoy,
installation of the floating hoses and the pull in of the Integrated Production
Bundle risers. DOF Subsea were retained for operational support after first oil
was achieved.
Project Outcome
The offshore execution was successfully completed to the highest standards of
quality and safety on a timely and cost effective basis.
Due to the excellent level of service and responsiveness the client retained DOF

Enfield Project - TS7AP / Woodside
Project Description
The Enfield Development off the North West Cape of Australia is located in
approx 600 m water depth.
The field comprises 13 subsea production and injection wells connected to
a riser column via flexible flowlines and umbilicals. A disconnectable FPSO
freely weathervanes around the riser column. The riser column is moored by 9
composite wire / chain mooring legs.
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore’s scope of work included the provision
of the Construction Personnel for transpooling and installation of the Mooring
Wires, and tow & hook-up of the Riser Column.

Laminaria Project - CSO / Woodside
Project Description
The Laminaria & Corallina fields are located in the Northern Territory waters
in the Timor Sea 550 km WNW of Darwin Australia. The field was developed
using subsea completions and a mono hull type Floating Production Storage and
Offloading unit (FPSO) permanently moored in a water depth of approximately
380 m.
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore’s scope of work included the supply of
supervision and personnel for the mob/demob of the CSO Venturer in Singapore,
interim vessel remobilizations offshore Timor Sea and Darwin Australia and the

Laminaria 2 Flowline Replacement - Technip Oceania / Woodside`
Project Description
The Laminaria and Corallina fields are located approximately 350 Nm northwest
of Darwin. One of the 8” flexible flowlines was leaking and had to be replaced in
approx. 400 m water depth.
Technip Oceania contracted DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore to carry
out the installation engineering and analysis for the replacement operation. The
scope of works included the installation analysis for the flowline, development of
mobilization and installation procedures, and design of all deck installation aids,
fabrication of installation aids and provision of project engineering expertise for
the offshore operation.

Pyrenees Flexible Pipelay System Design - Seastream JV
Project Description
Seastream JV was engaged by BHPB Petroleum to install the subsea risers, flowlines
and umbilicals for the Pyrenees Field. The project was large and complex with a
huge amount of subsea equipment to be installed from a newly commissioned
construction vessel.
Seastream approached DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore to design a large
flexible pipe lay structure, including pipe diverter chutes, pipe tensioner mounting,
work/access platforms, an overboarding wheel, mechanical hangoff platform,
movable bumpers, and provision for all the associated seafastening, control &
power lines and access walkways.
DOF Subsea performed all of the detailed design engineering & drafting as well as
having significant input into the concept design and design for installation aspects.
DOF Subsea used Solidworks to model the system in 3D, perform clash checks
etc and to produce design and shop fabrication drawings.
Project Outcome
After design was complete, the system was fabricated and installed on the Jascon
25 construction vessel for the flexible pipe installation works.
The campaign was successful and the system was used to safely lay a significant
number and length of flexible flowlines, risers and umbilicals.The use of Solidworks
and 3D modelling proved beneficial in the identification and elimination of
potential problems before fabrication commenced.

The Puffin Field is located approximately 700 km west off Darwin in the Timor
Sea. The Puffin 7 well is being tied back to an FPSO approximately 500 m away via

procedures, welder qualifications, approximately 2,000 joints of 12” 13% Chrome
(Weldable Martensitic Stainless Steel) butt welds using automatic welding
equipment and 70 12” and 10” butt welds in Duplex pipe spools using manual
welding equipment.
The 23 km pipeline and 30 associated tie-in spool pieces were fabricated at a
remote spoolbase in Dampier, Western Australia. A continuous welding process
was achieved using four welding stations during the production-welding phase
together with an automatic ultrasonic testing station and field joint coating
station. Final Tie-in welds were completed offshore onboard the clients vessel
CSO Apache.

Elang Kakatua Abandonment Project - MODEC Inc
Project Description
Following the removal of the Elang Kakatua FPSO from the field, DOF Subsea’s
subsidiary SWG Offshore were contracted by MODEC to abandon the subsea
infrastructure of field which lies in 90 m water depth. The field consisted of a Riser
Turret Mooring (RTM) held on location by six mooring chains, risers/flowlines and
umbilicals running from the RTM over 8 No. Mid Water Buoys (MWB) and on to
four Subsea Heat Exchangers (SSHE) each of which were connected to subsea
trees by rigid spools.
The initial scope of work was to:
Cut the four 6” risers, four 2” risers and four umbilicals attached to the
RTM
Pre-rig the RTM then cut the six 102 mm stud link mooring chains to
disconnect the RTM then tow it to a deep water location where it was to
be scuttled
Remove the risers from MWBs and recover MWBs for disposal on land
Cut the flowlines and rigid spools at the SSHE, then bury the SSHE in-situ.
The scope also involved project management, engineering analysis, design and
procedural development, fabrication of abandonment aids, offshore manning,
supervision and execution. The work was undertaken using the DP2 ISV REM
Etive. No divers were used on the project as all subsea work was executed using
the two workclass ROVs on the ISV.0
Project Outcome
The flowlines and risers were cut and the 8 No. MWB’s were recovered to deck
for subsequent onshore storage in Indonesia.
Due to discussions ongoing with a potential future client, the RTM was not
dumped but prepared for future release and tow with the use of tugs.
The work was successfully completed on time and significantly below budget to
the highest standards of quality and safety to the satisfaction of our client.

onshore logistics, supervision and execution. The work was undertaken using the
REM Etive. No divers were used on the project as all subsea work was executed
using the two workclass ROVs on the construction vessel.
Project Outcome
Recovery of the SSHEs to deck required a strong OH&S focus to ensure all
hazards & risks were identified, thoroughly assessed and carefully managed prior
to and during offshore execution.
The fast track project was successfully completed below budget to the highest
standards of quality and safety to the satisfaction of our client.

Project Description

Phases 1 and 2 involved successful removal of the MWBs, cutting of the flowlines
and risers and recovery of the SSHE’s from the seafloor and transportation to
shore for disposal, leaving the RTM in location.
Phase 3 of the project involved project management, engineering analysis, design
and procedural development, fabrication of abandonment aids, offshore manning,
onshore logistics, supervision and execution for the release, tow to abandonment
site, and sinking of the RTM.
RTM removal was undertaken in two discrete campaigns. The Calypso Star was
used for a preliminary visit to assess the condition of the proposed flooding
pipework and prepare the RTM for towing and subsequent sinking. The Sea
Supporter was then used to execute the final scope to cut the mooring chains,
tow the RTM to the designated dumping location in Australian waters, and
perform controlled sinking by internal flooding.
Project Outcome
Phase 3 saw the decommissioning of MODEC’s subsea facilities in the Elang
Kakatua field successfully completed.
The Elang Kakatua abandonment project was completed to the highest standards
of quality and safety, to the satisfaction of our client.

Otway Project - Technip Oceania / Woodside
Project Description
The Otway field is located approximately 70 km offshore Port Campbell in
Victoria in a water depth of 100 m. A four leg, 8 pile wellhead platform was
installed by Technip Oceania.
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore were contracted to provide hook up
support services associated with the installation of the Otway platform topsides
onto the jacket. This involved the provision of specialized fabrication crews
to carry out all the tie in welding between the jacket and topsides and for the
production fluid risers. DOF Subsea provided all personnel, equipment and
materials and the scope of work also included development and testing for all
weld procedures on both duplex and carbon steel materials.

Blacktip Installation Project - TSMarine / Saipem
Project Description
The Blacktip gas field is located in the Bonaparte Gulf, approximately 110 km
offshore Wadeye, Northern Territory. The field consists of a small un-manned
offshore wellhead platform and a subsea pipeline bringing the fluids to shore for
processing. The processed gas is exported to the customer, by others, via an
onshore pipeline and the condensate is exported via a subsea pipeline to a Single
Point Mooring (SPM) Buoy for loadout into tanker vessels.
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore’s scope of work consisted of the
provision of engineering, drafting and offshore installation engineering support.
The Havila Harmony, complete with air divers and ROVs, was used to install
the SPM Buoy moored with 6 chain legs and driven anchor piles, Pipeline End
Manifold (PLEM) complete with rigid spool, mooring hawser arrangement,
floating and submarine hoses, umbilical and ancillaries in water depths of 20 m.
Other work included engineering modifications to the driven anchor piles for
use with the Fast Frame, procedural development, design of installation aids and
rigging, vessel mobilisation and demobilisation.
Project Outcome
DOF Subsea’s scope was fast tracked and required innovative engineering
solutions, which were provided on schedule to high standards of quality and safety,
and proven offshore in a highly tidal affected location.

Vincent Framo Project - TSM / Woodside Energy
Project Description
The Vincent Field Development is located off the North West Cape of Australia in
approximately 370 - 390 m water depth. It comprises five subsea production and
injection Drill Centres. Four production wells come together at the Drill Centre
B (DCB) manifold and flowlines from the DCB manifold supply the Drill Centre
A (DCA) manifold. DCA also has four production wells that feed into the DCA
manifold. The combined flow from DCA and DCB is directed to the Framo Dual
pump Station (FDS) located on the seabed near DCA. Two Framo Multi Phase
Pumps (MPP), located in the FDS, pump to an external turreted FPSO via two
risers.
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore’s scope of work consisted of the project
management, engineering, procurement, diverless installation and pressure testing
of the Framo Multi Phase Pumps at DCA and FMC Torus II pressure caps at
DCB. Other work included recovery of two dummy pumps from the FDS and
pressure testing of spools at DCB. The scope of work included engineering
analysis, procedural development, installation aid and rigging design, mobilisation
and de-mobilisation, full onsite installation, supervision and manning on board the
installation support vessel, Havila Harmony.

Vincent / Enfield Spools Installation Study - TS Marine / Woodside
Project Description
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore were asked by Woodside to perform
a study to determine if the proposed Vincent and Enfield E spools and U spools
could be installed from TS Marine’s vessel the Havila Harmony via a vessel to
vessel lift. This was significant because it could provide Woodside with increased
vessel selection flexibility and cost savings for the project due to the smaller size
of vessel compared to what had been used previously.
The spools included Koscon diverless connectors and piggybacked small bore
and control lines. The dimensions of the spools meant that very few vessels could
carry them on deck before deployment, necessitating an offshore vessel to vessel
lift.
DOF Subsea performed the engineering study on behalf of TS Marine. This
included installation vessel motion analysis, hydrodynamic installation analysis,
spool structural modelling and analysis, and spreader beam design.
Project Outcome
Ultimately the client decided that the exposure to waiting on weather that could
result from a vessel to vessel lift was not desirable, so a larger vessel would be
used for the installation works instead of the Harmony.

Wandoo Field Decommisioning Study - Vermilion Oil and Gas Australia Pty Ltd
Project Description
Vermilion own and operate the Wandoo field located north of Dampier on the
North West Shelf. Although the field had many years of operation left, Vermilion
wanted to revisit the costs associated with decommissioning the field. DOF
Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore were contracted to conduct this study.
The Wandoo field comprises a Concrete Gravity Structure (CGS), a monopod
platform and a moored Catenary Anchor Leg Mooring (CALM) buoy with a
number of flowlines linking the various facilities. The monopod platform and
CALM buoy can be removed by relatively conventional means – however, the
CGS decommissioning poses a number of technical challenges which had to be
investigated before any meaningful cost could be allocated.
Project Outcome
The result was that Vermilion were able to significantly reduce the allowance
necessary for decommissioning of the Wandoo field.

DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore, contracted by Hallin Marine, carried out
management, deck supervision and underroller operations for the mobilisation
of the Installation Support Vessel (ISV) ‘Segero’ and the installation of three 6”
flexible flowlines and one 4” umbilical off the coast of Korea for Hyundai Heavy
Industries (HHI) and their client the Korean National Oil Company (KNOC).
The works were carried out both onboard the ISV and the Dong Hae 1 platform.

Maari WHP J-Tube Pull-in - OMV New Zealand Ltd
Project Description
OMV developed the Maari field using a platform linked back to an offloading
buoy. The original development plan had the platform being installed first and
loading buoy and interconnecting flowlines and umbilicals second.This would have
enabled the flowlines and umbilicals to be pulled straight up the platform I-tubes
before being laid away to the loading buoy. In the end this sequence was reversed
which meant that the flowlines had to be laid out on the seabed next the platform
site – and then pulled up the I-tubes once the platform was installed.
OMV contracted DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore to engineer and
execute the I-Tube pull-in.This had to be undertaken using available vessels which
meant limited deck space, craneage and no diving capability. Flowlines had to be
laid out on the seabed in a configuration which would subsequently allow the lines
to be pulled up the I-Tubes without overstressing. In addition a means of attaching
(and detaching) buoyancy by ROV had to be developed to allow lateral movement
during the pull-in. DOF Subsea engineered all of these aspects, and designed and
procured clamps and buoyancy. In addition, to prevent the flowlines and umbilicals
being overstressed at the base of the I-Tube, DOF Subsea designed and fabricated
a guide frame, and subsequently installed it using the platform crane.
Project Outcome
The offshore execution was successfully completed to the highest standards
of quality and safety in some of the worst offshore environmental conditions
witnessed in this part of the world.
DOF Subsea’s customer focused approach allowed the constant evolution of the
scope of work and responsibilities to be handled in a manner which created
minimum fuss and disruption to its client.

Puffin STP Buoy Disconnection Study - Sinopec EPPL
Project Description
The Puffin Field is located 200 km offshore Western Australia in the Bonaparte Basin
(Southern Timor Sea), permit block AC/P22, in a water depth of approximately
100 m.
The production facilities consist of 2 production wells, an FPSO (Front Puffin)
moored to a disconnectable Submerged Turret Production (STP) buoy with 6
mooring legs and a riser system which includes a 6” flexible production line, a 3”
gas lift line and a hydraulic umbilical tied back to the wells via a manifold.
The field has been operational since October 2007. Production ceased in June
2009 and the FPSO Front Puffin was disconnected from the STP buoy and subsea
production system in July 2009.
East Puffin Pty Ltd (EPPL), operating the field on behalf of Sinopec, contracted
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore to investigate options for disconnection
of the STP buoy from the riser system following departure of the Front Puffin
FPSO from the field.
Project Outcome
The offshore execution was successfully completed to the highest standards of
quality and safety on a timely basis and cost effective satisfaction.

Project Description
The Stybarrow Development, comprising the Stybarrow and Eskdale Fields off the
North West Cape of Australia, is located in approx 800 m water depth.
The field comprises nine Subsea production and injection wells connected to a
Spider Buoy via flexible flowlines and umbilicals. A disconnectable FPSO freely
weathervanes around the Spider Buoy. The Spider Buoy is moored by nine
composite wire / chain mooring legs.
Delivery of the Spider Buoy to the region coincided with the cyclone season,
and as such a temporary cyclone mooring was required in case of a disconnect
between spider buoy delivery and spider buoy permanent hook-up schedules,
which eventuated.
DOF Subsea’s subsidiary SWG Offshore’s scope of work included the provision of
the project management & engineering team, the construction team, procurement
and fabrication of the temporary mooring, the installation equipment and the
installation of the temporary Cyclone Mooring System in the Port of Dampier; as
well as subsequent tow & hook-up of the Spider Buoy to the temporary mooring,
and later recovery of the temporary mooring.

Barrow Island Tanker Loading Line Project - Chevron
Project Description
The Barrow Island Tanker Loading Line (BTLL) at Barrow Island on the Western
Australia Northwest Shelf, is operated and maintained by Chevron Australia.
Due to its movement as a result of current condition, Chevron Australia decided
to stabilise the 20” Loading Line by installing 66 pairs of rock bolts on the pipeline.
Rock bolting is a stabilisation method commonly used offshore, generally in
shallow water, to stabilise a pipeline.
The works involved include:
Drilling and grouting two piles next to the pipeline (one on each side
of the pipeline at a nominated distance apart). The two piles are then
secured to each other by mean of chain going across the pipeline. The
scope included installation of 66 pairs of Rock Bolts

TGT White Rhino Phase 1 & 2 - Hoang Long Joint Operating Company
Project Description
Hoang Long Joint Operating Company (HLJOC) is developing the Te Giac Trang
(TGT) oil field in Vietnam, also known as White Rhino. The field is located in the
northern part of Block 16-1, in the Cuu Long Basin about 100 km southeast of
Vung Tau.
DOF Subsea in consortium with PTSC Offshore Services were awarded the
contract by Vietsovpetro for the provision of a Complete Service Package for
installation of the FPSO on the TGT Field Development. There were two phases
to the offshore work scope:
Phase 1
Pre-installation survey
Installation of 12 x 65” anchor piles
Installation of 12 x mooring chain legs
Pre-tensioning of 12 x mooring chain legs
Buoy off mooring legs and as left survey

Halyard Development Project - Apache
Project Description
Apache Energy Ltd intends to develop the Halyard gas field located approximately
100 km offshore west of Dampier, in the Barrow Sub-basin on the Northwest
Shelf, offshore Western Australia.
DOF Subsea provided engineering, transportation and DSV services to Apache
Energy to install the Halyard PLEM and 14” tie in spool at the East Spar location

Challis Decommissioning - PTTEP Australasia (Ashmore Cartier) Pty Ltd
Project Description
DOF Subsea was awarded the contract for the decommissioning of the Challis
Field, situated in the Timor Sea, off the North West coast of Australia. The scope
of work was conducted in two distinct phases.
Phase 1
Installation of all aids and equipment for both phases.
Preparation of the FPSO and SALM for severance of the yoke
Severance of the yoke was undertaken using explosives. Extensive
engineering required on order to ensure the yoke fell to the seabed
without damaging the FPSO and subsea infrastructure

Lan Tay Subsea Intervention - BP
Project Description
The Lan Tay platform is located 370 km offshore south coast of Vietnam at the
water depth of 125 - 130 m. The subsea control system experienced a high
communication error rate resulting in a unstable Low Insulation Monitoring
(LIM) value. In order to repair the fault on both communication lines and bring
the system back to full redundancy, the Subsea Intervention Campaign 2011 was
planned.
The scope of work involved:
Project management, engineering and development of all procedures
Deburial of umbilical using Rotech and ROV dredger
Provision was made to recover the umbilical and termination to deck. In
the end this was not necessary
ACFM inspection on jacket
Choke changement
Changeout of flying leads
All activities had to be undertaken in conjuction with the platform shutdown.
The work was executed using a combination of Geosea and Skandi Singapore. An
HRF was stationed in Vung Tan to support the work.

North Rankin Redevelopment Project - Heerema Marine Contractors
Project Description
DOF Subsea provided survey construction support services to Heerema Marine
Contractors for the transportation and installation of the NRB Jacket Installation.
The Hermod construction barge was used to install the jacket alongside the NRA
platform on the North West Shelf.
The scope of work included the set-down of the NRB jacket, piling of the primary
piles, drilling of the insert piles, and connection of a bridge to the existing NRA
platform.
The services provided by DOF Subsea included pre-transport dimensional
control surveys of the NRB jacket, barge and AHT positioning to support anchor
operations, real-time dimensional control measurements for jacket positioning,
and final as-built surveys. DOF Subsea supplied a range of specialist equipment to
remotely monitor the position, orientation and inclination of the jacket in order
to achieve the demanding accuracy specifications required. This together with
DOF’s suite of in-house software packages for high-accuracy surface and subsea
measurement, provided a complete solution for the client.
DOF Subsea also provided 3D video animations of the entire project scope of
work which were used for project inductions to visually simulate the work tasks
prior to starting work.

Belanak LPG-FSO Project - Conoco Phillips
Project Description
DOF Subsea was awarded the contract to install the LPG FSO (Gas Concord)
with the riser, subsea power cable and turret mooring systems.
The scope of work included:
Mobilization of the marine spread onto DSV Skandi Singapore
Offshore installation of two 6” flexible risers to the existing subsea PLEM
and Mid-Water Arch (MWA) including the riser dewatering
Offshore installation of one 5” subsea power cable to the existing MidWater Arch (MWA)
LPG FSO tow from Sembawang shipyard, Singapore to the LPG FSO site
in Belanak field
LPG FSO offshore hookup with the risers, umbilical, subsea power cable
and the existing mooring legs;
Provide assistance to Company’s operations for purging and drying pipeline
with risers;
Pre-commissioning of risers, umbilical, and subsea power cable with the
Turret System;
Demobilisation of the marine spread.

Basker Manta Gummy Field - ROC Oil
Project Description
DOF Subsea was awarded the contract for deconstruction scope of the Basker
Manta Gummy field located 70 nautical miles of the NSW coast in the Bass
Strait. The project scope covered Project Management, Engineering and offshore
execution.

Removal and delivery to Port of:
1. Detachable Turret Mooring including moorings and risers
2. Single Point Mooring Buoy, including moorings and risers

Stybarrow H4 Flowline Replacement - BHP Billiton
Project Description
DOF Subsea was awarded the contract for the replacement of the blocked
flowline in the Stybarrow Field, offshore Australia. The project consisted of the
subsea disconnection of the blocked flowline from the XT and the Riser and
replacing this flowline with a new flowline.
Scope of Work included:
Project Management and Engineering
All SIT for the new flowline connection to the XT
Transport and Installation of the new flowline
Subsea disconnect at 820m water depth of a standard API flange
Recovery of the riser back to the surface
Flushing and dewatering of the existing riser
Lay of 8” flowline in 820m of water depth using a Horizontal Lay System
The project was successfully executed using the Skandi Hercules with a DOF
Subsea owned Horizontal Lay System onboard.

Blacktip SSIV ROV Intervention - Woodgroup / ENI
Project Description
The Blacktip Gas Field is located in the exploration permit WA-279-P in the
Joseph Bonaparte Gulf, approximately 300 km west, south west of Darwin and
110 km offshore Wadeye, Northern Territory
The offshore campaign, including mobilisation and demobilisation, was successfully
completed between 29-30 September 2010.
The scope of work included:
Mobilisation of the Triton XLS31 Work-Class ROV Perth-Darwin
Engineering of the ROV elevation platform
Fabricate ROV elevation platform
Mobilisation of the ROV system to the Allison Tide
Opening the Blacktip SSIV on the WHP using a Class 4 torque tool

UWILD Diving Survey - Woodside
Project Description
Underwater Inspection In-Lieu of Dry-dock (UWILD) for the Nganhurra and Northern
Endeavour FPSO’s undertaken between March and August 2011. The broader diving
scope was performed via visual and video observation, supplemented by CP, UT &
ACFM non destructive testing methods as directed by the Lloyd’s Surveyor.
FPSO Nganhurra
The Enfield field where the FPSO Nganhurra is secured is situated in Permit Block WA28-L off the North West Cape I Western Australia. Oil is exported via the Nganhurra
FPSO; production started in July 2006.The Nganhurra FPSO is moored to a riser turret
which is held in place by a system of nine mooring legs attached to drag anchors. The
purpose of the 2011 Nganhurra UWILD by Diver was to:
Assess the overall condition of the accessible in-water sections of the Nganhurra FPSO
and RTM by detecting features, or evidence of events having occurred, which represent
risk to the integrity to the facility and its associated components.
To collect the required subsea inspection data / information to assist with the Lloyd’s 2½
year special survey of the Nganhurra FPSO and RTM to remain in class.
FPSO Northern Endeavour
The Northern Endeavour (NE) Facility, is permanently moored by an internal turret
mooring system in approximately 380m water depth. The Northern Endeavour FPSO
facility is situated in the Timor Sea 550 km W-NW of Darwin, and receives well fluid
from two fields: Laminaria and Corallina. The Laminaria field sits entirely within the
AC/L5 production license area while a portion of the Corallina field extends across
the boundary into the neighbouring WA-260-P permit area. The purpose of the 2011
Northern Endeavour UWILD by Diver is:
Assess the overall condition of the accessible in-water sections of the Northern
Endeavour FPSO and RTM by detecting features, or evidence of events having occurred,
which represent risk to the integrity to the facility and its associated components.
To collect the required subsea inspection data / information to assist with the Lloyd’s

Warragamba Dam Project - Baulderstone Hornibrook Pty Ltd (BHPL)
Project Description
DOF Subsea Australia Pty Ltd (DOF Subsea) was awarded a contract by
Baulderstone Hornibrook Pty Ltd (BHPL) for the provision of services to execute
the Warragamba Dam Deep Water Storage Recovery - Underwater Construction
of No. 4 Outlet.
Warragamba Dam is located approximately 60 km west of Sydney, NSW, near the
town of Wallacia. It is the last of the great dams of the Wollondilly region and
stores 80% of Sydney’s water supply. Completed in 1960, Warragamba created
Lake Burragorang and is the largest concrete dam in Australia, and one of the
largest dams in the world used specifically as a metropolitan water supply.
The Sydney Catchment Authority (The Principal) conceived a plan to create a
flow path from the bottom of the reservoir to the existing Outlet No. 4. This
involved cutting an opening, having a flow capacity equivalent to a single 2 m × 2
m opening through the nominal 1.75 m thick concrete wall which separated the
alcove arrangement from Outlet No. 4, near the base of the upstream face of
Warragamba Dam.
DOF Subsea proposed the use of small 4 man modular saturation diving system
for this workscope. The system selected by DOF Subsea was purpose built for
the inspection of dams.
Following careful consideration of the complexity and the risk associated with the
concrete removal task, DOF Subsea developed a single system for cutting the 2
m x 2 m hole in the dam wall

Biendong Project - PTSC South East Asia
Project Description
DOF Subsea were awarded the contract by PTSC South East Asia for the tow and
installation of the Floating Storage and Offloading vessel (Biendong 01) in the Hai
Thach and Moc Tinh field, offshore Vietnam.
The scope of work included installation of:
Phase.1 (Sept - Dec 2012)
Mooring system comprising nine piles, and associated chain and wire legs
STL Buoy launch and hook-up
Midwater Arch and Gravity Base
Three risers two 3” and one 7”
Testing and commissioning of the installation
Phase.2 (April 2013)
Transport, installation and hook-up of the FSO
DOF Subsea’s Skandi Hercules provided the main installation platform for all
Phase 1 activities. The combination of the Skandi Hercules AHT capability, 250 t
A frame and 140 t AHC crane ensured optimisation for the multiple installation
activities.
All nine chain legs were accommodated into the internal chain lockers; the 200
m long x ø96 mm mooring wires loaded onto the main working drums. The nine
mooring piles and chain legs were installed and load tested to 200t.The STL Buoy
was over-boarded by the 250 t A-frame.
Once secured, each of the mooring wires was attached to the associated chain leg
by means of the ACCD (Anchor Chain Connection Device). The ACCD system
is designed and tested by DOF Subsea to provide the safest 100% ROV solution.
Finally the midwater arch, gravity base was deployed, the three risers then installed
and commissioned. During the riser installation activities the Skandi Hercules was
fitted with a reel drive and tensioner lay package.
