The success when the much longed-for
Edelweiß finally flourished on the Wilder
Kaiser; the wave of emotion which went
through Austria when Balthasar Hauser
made it possible for the million Schilling
stallion Pluto Verona to find a home in
the Stanglwirt’s Lipizzaner stud farm; or
that evening when – at that time still a
professional skier – Hansi Hinterseer played his first melody on an accordion. The

which has been upheld for hundreds of years at the Stanglwirt. In 1609 the Stanglwirt was granted publican status by the local authorities in Kitzbühel. As a result
the Stanglwirt is one of the longest continuously operating public houses in Europe. The centuries at the Stanglwirt have not only been characterised by spirited
innkeepers, but also by committed farmers. So whoever comes back home to the
Stanglwirt, will experience a 5-star level Bio-Hotel and also a carefully managed

Stanglwirt - Tyrolean tradition and the natural surroundings provide a ‘home’ for international
guests.
Since 1609 there has been a place at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser where people can have a
rest, refresh themselves and get together. Then they can continue on their journey.
Hüttling Moos
What began 400 years ago has continually changed in the course of time. Yet the core concept
has remained – somewhere to have a “rest” – which is what the Stanglwirt guest is looking for.
A stop-off “at home”. The opportunity to go there at any time – 365 days a year, 24 hours a day
– is what gives many regular guests a sense of security.
We continually strive, together with more than 230 employees, to further develop and safeguard this offer. In the future
too the farmland area, which covers more than 100 hectares, should provide the best quality feed for the 45 cattle and 28
horses, so we can produce unique cheese, milk, yoghurt and meat.
Just as the ‘Kaiserquelle’ was a reflection of the quality of the water in this location and the eco-building principles in the
1980s using genuine solid Swiss stone pine by our father Balthasar Hauser formed the basis of our authenticity, we must
strive to maintain the quality of each product, maintaining this 5-star level status. This and the fact that we live here on
the farm, and are not just a luxury hotel, is what makes for a complete experience. Food and drink, every wish you could
conceive for your leisure time, as ever embedded in the unmistakeably natural style of the “Stanglwirt” – that is our aim.

For a hotelier this means respecting natural resources and using sensible farming practices in keeping
with the laws of nature. For Balthasar Hauser, who has a love of nature, this approach has been a matter
of course, even since he was a child. His special pioneering achievements lay in the consistency of
applying this approach and particularly in the visionary recognition that living in harmony with nature
means valuing it. Organic food made from our own produce, meat from our own cattle, high quality feed
from our own Alpine pastures and meadows, the best quality dairy produce – those who can control the
general conditions and who want the best out of and of nature in the long-term, act with nature – not
against it. Balthasar Hauser recognises that living in harmony with nature is not only important in agricultural terms, but it is also something which is important to guests. This means that living in harmony
with nature is the hotel’s fundamental message. Whoever feels at home at the Stanglwirt, lives close to
nature – thanks to the unique landscape around the Wilder Kaiser, the natural construction methods, the
produce from our own farm, and the fact that the Stanglwirt is also a farm which keeps cattle; thanks
to the plenty of leisure options on offer outdoors and last but not least especially due to the fact that
the Hauser family continually impart this closeness to nature in what they do and how they operate.
You don’t need to hark back to traditional values such as originality and authenticity; the Stanglwirt has

its legends
The Stanglwirt origins lie in many things, whether that is the first
private Lipizzaner stables, the Edelweiß on the Wilder Kaiser and in
so many successful careers. Imaginativeness, a pioneering spirit and
drive are what have characterised the Stanglwirt to date.
Hansi Hinterseer learns to ‘play accordion’
Childhood friend of Balthasar Hauser, Hansi Hinterseer, was an acclaimed professional skier in the USA and one evening came to him asking Balthasar to teach
him ‘a few tunes on the accordion’, which was so ‘wonderful’. The Americans
really wanted to hear him play these tunes, so Hansi Hinterseer practised his first
few notes with Balthasar Hauser in the office. A few years later he was discovered
by the producer Jack White - and the rest is a living legend.
A home for Edelweiß
The botanical idea of Balthasar Hauser and friend Franz Kofler was born at a singers’ meeting. Edelweiß, which was threatened with extinction, was to gain a new
home on the Wilder Kaiser! What was hastily conceived as a thought became an
arduous undertaking. “We wanted to establish wild Edelweiß, not the garden variety Edelweiß”, said Balthasar Hauser. For this unusual rescue operation Edelweiß
seeds were gathered from the Dolomites, grown in the garden, and finally planted
in a secret location on the Wilder Kaiser. Success! The small, delicate plant found
a new, protected home high above the Stanglwirt. Occasionally Balthasar Hauser
picks one for ‘much loved guests’. Princess Caroline of Monaco and new Princess
Charlene Wittstock were presented with one as a gift.
The story of Pluto Verona
It was a spectacular event. The venerable Dorotheum in Vienna was constructed
as the setting for an unusual Lipizzaner auction which was broadcast live on ORF.
Balthasar Hauser at that time managed the only private Lipizzaner stables in
Austria and was very interested in the breeding stallions at the Piber stables. After
all, this was where the proud horses from the Spanish Riding School came from.
Under the patronage of the incumbent Minister for Agriculture, Josef Riegler, and
presented by Peter Rapp, one horse after another was lead into the improvised
arena. “It was love at first sight”, says Balthasar Hauser, as he recalls the moment,
when Pluto Verona was offered up for auction. Yet his bid of one million Schilling
was outbid –by an unemployed person, who as it later turned out, was not able to
raise this sum of money. There was a huge debacle and ORF General Director at
the time Peter Marbo asked whether the offer was still applicable.
“A Tyrolean man is true to his word. We help one another and make the best of

things”, was Hauser’s reply to the rescue operation which ensued.
People and the media followed this touching story and newsreader Horst Friedrich
Meyer announced, on the second headline feature of the evening news: the impressive million Schilling stallion Pluto Verona has moved from the Piber stables to his
new home at the Stanglwirt. A move which captured the hearts of all of Austria.
Pluto Verona arrived as a 16-year old stallion and remained the hero of the stables
until his death 20 years later. The children and grandchildren of this impressive
Lipizzaner stallion can still be seen today at the Stanglwirt.

It is with this motto in mind that for a long time many celebrities have felt “at
home” in the Stanglwirt. In the Hauser family and their staff they find a down-toearth nature that they love and hold in high regard. The many legendary visitors
have remained unforgettable and are a part of the history and the memoirs of the
Stanglwirt. 11

Hunting paradise
Chamois and deer on the Wilder Kaiser
There is a very special kind of natural experience in the hunting stomping ground on the Wilder Kaiser.
The eastern section of the Wilder Kaiser is an area where you can meet the Stanglwirt Lippizaners on the quiet forest trails. The Stanglwirt’s
delicious mountain cheese is produced on the Graspoint Hochalm and there is also hunting in the same area. The chamois and roe deer hunt is
managed in a very considerate manner. Nurturing is what matters in the first instance. The stocks of game are to remain healthy, and only game
which is specified by the authorities is shot, in order to maintain stocks, explains Richard Hauser, CEO of the Biohotel Stanglwirt, and a hunter
himself.

In this sense hunting is integrated in the natural cycle of the cultivated landscape, i.e. in the rural economy and in forestry. Those who visit the Stanglwirt can comprehend this cycle
in culinary terms, and also in adventures in the open countryside. Keen hunters (and their interested companions) can enjoy this unique stomping ground on the Wilder Kaiser with
expert guidance from experienced hunter Stefan Straif.

Trixi Moser
A few attentive words to guests at the breakfast table, quite a bit of information at the staff meeting, detailed discussions and chit-chat at evening events – Trixi Moser carries out her duties as the manageress of
the hotel with a lot of passion and with a sense of humour.
With passion and understanding she wields the sceptre and works as a team with 100 employees, is
always ready to listen to guests and provides pep-talks if something isn’t going right.
For instance with a golf tee-off or a ski run. Trixi Moser is a positive person through and through.
‘I am down-to-earth and approachable, and have an awareness of what is going on around me’, she
recounts. Everyday she consciously goes about her duties with joy, since – as she is convinced: ‘In
the Stanglwirt we have the nicest product. Where else is there such a wonderful place to work?’
Trixi Moser is, so to speak, an icon in the Stanglwirt and an established pillar in the business. Having
started out as a Receptionist in the Stanglwirt, today she organises the everyday affairs of the hotel,
experiencing and living the rhythm of the Stangwirt. “I get to develop here and have contact with
people”, she says. The straight talking is down to her - with guests and also with her core team.
Clearly disseminating information – something which the staff in the team have learned from her.
Sensitivity and attentiveness, without that the Stanglwirt would be sunk. “I try to keep an eye on
everything. It is only in working closely together that we can work behind the scenes in an optimal
manner, so everything runs smoothly for our guests”, comments our hotel manageress. Trixi Moser
is a champion of high levels of satisfaction amongst guests and employees alike.

Whether it’s going for a ride in the open countryside, or rides with a harness in the famous
riding hall in the Stanglwirt. Stud farm manageress Anna Widder ensures that rides on the
impressive Lipizzaners – and small ponies –
are a real pleasure.
”Horses are good friends, sensitive creatures and occasionally they are wonderful therapists too”, explains our
stud farm manageress Anna Widder. She is lucky to have
made her passion her job, and has found the perfect
place to work. “The Stanglwirt stud farm is a wellness oasis for Lipizzaners, very spacious, well looked after – it’s
a 5* level here too”, muses our equine expert. 30 horses,
ponies and foals need daily exercise, attention, care, and
sometimes medicine. “Here everyone does everything”,
explains the 31-year old, in reference to her team of 4
staff. “Horses are my life”, says Anna, as she leads a
mare out of the box with her experienced hand. There is
great excitement since this is the first time that Amelia
has been separated from her little foal for a few minutes.
The foal is just a few weeks old, Anna Widder missed
its arrival by just a few minutes. “The mare did it all by
herself, emotionally guided by the horse in the neighbouring box”, she laughs. The foal’s father is from the famous
Piber stud farm in Vienna, home of the impressive Lipizzaners from the Viennese Court Riding Academy. She
had a choice of stallions said Anna Widder; I selected a
quiet stallion for our lively Amelia. Every year she looks
for suitable stallions for the mares, since in the Stanglwirt
stud farm 1 to 2 foals are a welcome addition to the stead
every year. Anna Widder has worked with horses all of her
life. She shows her passion for this job in each individual
action. And in the many nicknames which she has for her
impressive charges.

The wait was worth it. Since March 2010 the brand
new “Stanglwirt Golf training centre”, which includes the hotel’s own driving range, has been barely
a stone’s throw from the entrance to the hotel. In
perfect ‘homeland movie’ scenery, with superb
views to the Wilder Kaiser, you can improve your
tee-shots with ease with top-class golf pros Clemens Prader, Ulf Wendling and Fritz Porstentorfer.
Golf is a sport which challenges body and soul in equal
measure, intensifying mental strength and consolidating
physical skill. There is also the theory side of things to
explain. The practical aspect sounds a little more atmospheric: “Golf increases your quality of life, keeps you fit,
motivates you to perform to your best. The green has a
calming effect on our psyche. As golf pros this is the sort
of pleasure we want to impart”, says Fritz Porstentorfer.

Even in 1609 the Stanglwirt was ideally placed as a convenient stop-off point. Today the Stanglwirt is also centrally located – namely in the midst of cultural highlights, an artistic programme
and high quality events.
Swarovski Crystal World in nearby Wattens houses splendid treasures made out of crystal. These crystal delights are guarded by the water-spouting head of an Alpine giant. Created from a design by the artist André Heller, the giant houses the
sparkling treasures in a subterranean exhibition area. 3-D projections, a crystal-o-scope and a crystal dome await the visitor,
with a mysterious magic ambiance.
Similarly, there are two first-rate cultural events on offer within a 1.5 hour drive radius - Salzburger Festspiele (Salzburg
Festival) has since there first staging of Hugo von Hofmannthal’s “Jedermann” in 1920 been an especially bright fixed star
on the cultural sky. No less glittering is the ‘Tiroler Festspiele’ (Tirol Festival) in Erl, which was set up by Maestro Gustav
Kuhn in 1998. “If music is self-determination, then the Tiroler Festspiele Erl are freedom”, says Gustav Kuhn. This success
confirmed its development. The festival, which has an international appeal, has long established itself among music fans

Stanglwirt achieves record result
For the first time there have been more than 100,000 overnight stays in one year
Biohotel Stanglwirt had every reason to be cheerful in April 2010. For the first time in the history of the hotel, and within the space of one year, there were more than one
hundred thousand overnight stays. As a result the Stanglwirt is among the front-runners in Austria’s luxury resort hotel sector. “This result in the 2009 economic year is doubly
significant, given the sensitive economic position and the fact that all bookings were made on our guests’ own initiative. Around two thirds were regular guests and the encouraging amount of stays is based largely on word-of-mouth recommendation”, explains CEO Richard Hauser.
The family-run business sees this as confirmation of the hotel’s good organisation. “The variety of offers and an experience of traditional values is what touches people’s very
soul. When you come to the Stanglwirt you are coming home”, is how Balthasar Hauser sees . He attributes the lion’s share of this success to his fantastic employees. At this
juncture the Hauser family would like to send out their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has made a significant contribution to this success.

Just a few days ago Facebook celebrated having more than 500 million users worldwide, with one person in two logging in daily. This makes Facebook probably the most popular network on the Internet. The platform, which in the interim is used worldwide in more than 70 languages, revealed additional impressive figures: users spend around 700

Exceptional hospitality
The historic “Gasthof Stanglwirt” with the famous “cow shed window” has
not been closed for a single day in more than 250 years.
The cow shed window has long been a trade mark of the Stanglwirt restaurant. In actual fact this brilliant idea was borne of necessity.
It was the singers who were to blame - the mother of the Stanglwirt’s Anna Hauser, herself a keen singer, brought folk music to the famous guesthouse. These “singer meetings” soon
enjoyed a legendary reputation – and so it came to be that the cosy pub snug was too small for the fast growing event, and extensions were carried out. The adjacent ‘Sagmehlschüpfei’ on the west side of the hall was closed and a new hall was joined on. While moving the wall to the north-facing side there was one small problem - a window to the cow
shed could be seen behind it. Renowned architect Albertini from Wörgl, who was in charge of the redesign of the dining hall, wanted to have it bricked up but Lois, Anna Hauser’s
partner came up with the fantastic idea of keeping the view to the cow shed as a tourist attraction. The rebuilding of the hall worked out very well! The favoured table was then
somewhat elevated, to the right hand side of the hall. It was particularly popular, since from it there was a view not just of the hustle and bustle in the hall, but also – in the opposite
direction – through a small window, there was a view into the
shed where the cows and calves, pigs and piglets, unaffected
by the often very important guests next to them, were setting
about their idyllic, rural lives. The shed window at the Stanglwirt was from then on a brand product which had an unbelievable advertising impact. There had never been anything
like this before, where the cows could watch guests eating,
and in turn the guests were not disrupting the cows. The cow
shed window is still here today. It has always inspired guests
to think about life. Famous behavioural scientist Prof. Irenäus
Eibl-Eibesfeldt once wrote in the guestbook: “I expected a lot
from the Stanglwirt, but not that I would come across a behavioural scientist. Here we have a landlord who is very aware
of the fact that cattle like to watch one another.” You can
enjoy our exceptional hospitality in the 400 year old traditional
“Gasthof” with its “Alm-Restaurant”, “Kuhstall-Stube” and its
“Gaststube”.
This is pure, sumptuous gastronomy and a special tip

Culinary highlights
Chefs win over people’s hearts through their stomachs, as it is so wonderfully put. Stanglwirt Executive Chef Thomas Ritzer takes control of Alpine and also international cuisine in
a virtuoso manner, and delights guests with excellent, epicurean delights.
“We have an international audience, and every single one of them is discerning when it comes to food. The spectrum of desires ranges from lobster and caviar, right the way through to oat flakes”, explains our head chef. This
gentleman, who manages a 55-strong team in the kitchen and creates creative dishes, is very popular amongst
staff. While he waxes lyrical about his passion of cooking with organic produce, people rave about his friendly
nature. “The hotel was built using bio-construction methods. Beeswax was used and there are no nails in the
wood, but wooden dowels. Priority was always given to the natural surroundings. This attentiveness is a motto at
the Stanglwirt. In the kitchen too we work with organic produce as often as is possible, and preference is given to
produce from the region. We search out the best lamb, sheep and beef producers and foster a close co-operation
with AMA, Agrarmarkt Austria, and have without doubt taken on a pioneering role in promoting regional quality at
the highest level.”
Our Executive Chef is convinced that you have to eat your way to health! “Metabolic diseases come from the food
we eat”, he explains. These days anyone who endeavours to eat high quality food will definitely doing themselves
some good. “Our guests are bon vivants. They want to nourish their souls. The greatest challenge for me is to
have them leave here healthier and fitter than they were when they arrived. And indeed, with the healthy food they
get just that, without even noticing”, smiles Executive Chef Thomas Ritzer. An undertaking which he executes
perfectly. He has a large fan base.
He is an Executive Chef who wins over guests with his culinary expertise – and his lovely manner fills colleagues and staff alike with enthusiasm.

Magdalena Hauser has successfully wielded the sceptre for decades
at the Hauser family’s oven.
Renowned Executive Chef Thomas Ritzer has been at the helm for six years in the somewhat larger kitchen in Biohotel Stanglwirt, mastering an international menu with flying
colours. Together they have both compiled a nicely put-together recipe book which
includes select recipes which fans of hearty, traditional Tyrolean cooking will want to
tickle their tastebuds with. Whether it is roast pork or the legendary ‘Moosbeernocken’
(cranberry pastries), ‘Trout à la Stanglwirt’ or Tyrolean dumplings, those who hold the
Stanglwirt cuisine in high regard can in future cook the recipes themselves at home. For
those new to cooking there are easy-to-understand, helpful tips to accompany the 60
pages of soup, main and dessert course recipes.

delicious tip
Mountain cheese made using organic Stanglwirt produce
Every year a total of 140 tonnes of milk for curds, butter, yoghurt and cheese are processed in the
hotel’s own dairy.
One exceptional item among our own cheese
varieties is the “Stanglalm-Mountain Cheese”,
says head chef Thomas Ritzer. The cattle are
reared on the high Alpine pastures, far removed
from civilisation, which ensures that the cows
do not absorb any artificial fertilizers. All they
eat is the finest of herbs, the most tender of
grasses and nutrient-dense plants. This is natural organic energy in its purest form and yields
the highest quality milk, which is demonstrably
measurable in the fat and protein content and
demonstrably appreciable in the exceptional
taste. Our mountain cheese is made using this
mountain milk, and 3000 kilograms are produced every year.
Incidentally the transportation of this mountain
cheese from the Alpine pastures is also special. Large carriages drawn by Haflinger horses
bring the cheese down into the valley, since
there are no roads to and from the Stanglalm.

The Stanglwirt Collection and its fans continue to grow. The landlord’s daughter Maria Hauser is the Creative Director and is in
charge of the range. A task which she has
set about with a great deal of enthusiasm.
Stanglpost: What lead you to design your own Stanglwirt Collection?
Maria Hauser: As a creative and artistic person I have
a natural interest in fashion, trends and designs. In the
meantime the Stanglwirt brand has, thanks to centuries-old developmental work and the right marketing,
a concept which my father Balthasar understands
very well, become an established brand and has also
matured to become a lifestyle product. It was thereAs Creative Director Maria Hauser
fore logical that I would combine my passion for the

Stanglwirt and for fashion. We started out at the first
‘Weißwurstparty polo shirt’ in 2009, which completely
sold out within a very short time, and due to the high level of demand items also had
to be post-produced. A successful test run! So we took the demand seriously and
created a collection in which men, women and children felt good and one which was
identifiable with the Stanglwirt.
Stanglpost: What is in your portfolio at the moment?
Maria Hauser: The focus at the moment is on outerwear, accessories and uncomplicated gift items to take home. We are going to extend the range significantly and want
to set new trends with our scarves, bracelets and selected pieces. You’ll find out more
soon …
Stanglpost: What has made the Stanglwirt Collection such a success?
Maria Hauser: On the one hand our success lies in the high level of quality. At the
Stanglwirt a high level of quality is expected in all areas– this in particular applies to all
materials which come into contact with people’s skin. Whether that be hands resting
on a high quality table cloth, or bodies swathed in silky-soft bed linen.
Our guests want to feel only the finest materials on their bodies. We took this maxim
on board in our Collection too. As well as feeling good, another criterion for our success has certainly been our values and our philosophy.
Each item is very well thought-through, characterised by our attention to detail. A
guest can take a piece of Stanglwirt textile home with then. This enables lots of guests
to enjoy the Stanglwirt when they are far away, and provides a Collection which is a
reminder of holiday-time. The Collection engenders positive emotions for the wearer.
And that is a big compliment!
Stanglpost: What criteria do you use in making your selection?
Maria Hauser: The Stanglwirt Collection can be worn anywhere, whether that be Kitzbühel, Hamburg, Paris or New York. It is modern, sporty and casual. Very appealing.
We do of course work with a team of proven specialists when it comes to functionality
and cut. All the preparative pieces, selecting designs and materials are down to me.
The process is strictly regulated, each item is chosen by me personally. It is entirely
within the context of a premium brand that I place regard quality and design as foremost qualities. It is only in this way that we can ensure that the Collection consistently
bears the distinctive Stanglwirt style. A short while ago, and quite by chance, I saw a
man wearing a Stanglwirt polo-shirt on the Côte d’Azur. Surprising discoveries such as
these are of course a huge delight!
Stanglpost: What inspires and motivates you in your work?
Maria Hauser: The joy at making something! I am aware of the great responsibility
upon me in working with a brand which has developed from the work carried out by 12
generations of my family. With creative input from the past, making a path to the future
is a both an honour and a challenge. Values and wellbeing have played a fundamental
role in the past and will continue to do so in the future …
Stanglpost: Do you have your own favourite piece?
Maria Hauser: Just one? I am fond of all the pieces! That said, at the moment I am
especially fond of the rugby shirt in pink. It’s just a nice colour, is flattering and can be
worn at any time of the year. The very first Weißwurtsparty polo shirt makes me feel
sentimental.
I am working on a piece at the moment which is a good candidate for the very top of
the popularity scale. I can’t reveal any more at the moment …. it is top secret. But I am
convinced that our guests get as much pleasure from wearing & feeling the Collection
as we do creating it!

400 years of Stanglwirt – a joyous celebration
The year is 1609.
A year in which Archduke Albrecht VII, Regent of the Southern Netherlands, officially appointed Paul Peter Rubens as court painter. The year
when Shakespeare published his sonnets in London and Johannes Kepler published his first two Kepler’s Laws in Prague. In Venice Galileo
Galilei was one of the first people to construct a telescope to observe the night sky. A year in which many things began: On 11th September
seafarer Henry Hudson discovered the island of Manhattan and was the first to navigate Hudson Bay, which was named after him later.
On 7th November 1609 the Stanglwirt was granted publican status by the local authorities in Kitzbühel.
There is probably barely a more worthy occasion for a big celebration that an anniversary, under the motto “400 years of hospitality”, the Hauser family celebrated the vibrant
history of the hotel, which has been furthered developed by several generations with an increasing sense of tradition and with new vision, with friends and companions, staff
and guests. One thing has remained unchanged over all the years and the centuries – what has in the meantime become a fixed slogan based on the established credo “at
home at the Stanglwirt”.
Even though the Stanglwirt has become one of the most famous hotel brands, the Hauser family and their team of 230 have never forgotten the roots of their success. The
Stanglwirt is a living symbiosis of the fastidious luxury hotel sector and a 100 hectare farm. In times past and today still everyone is equal here – poor and rich, VIPs and the
less well-known. Here hi-tech equipment is as much a part of daily life as the occasional odour emanating from the stables, but most of all it is probably the warmth of the
people who work here which is most touching.
Another anniversary is celebrated on 7th November too - the 120th annual singer and musicians meeting. Established in 1949 by Balthasar Hauser’s parents, this living tradition of genuine folk music has since then been extremely popular.
Musicians and singers celebrated this venerable moment along with numerous well-wishers, among them Governor Dr. Günther Platter, Franz and Heidi Beckenbauer, Karl Habsburg-Lothringen, Karlheinz Böhm, Hansi Hinterseer, Cathrin and Werner Baldessarini, Government Minister Dr. Beate Palfrader, Tirol advertiser Josef Margreiter, DJ Ötzi alias Gerry
Friedle, Franz Fischler, Barbara Stöckl, Toni Innauer, Leonhard Stock, Fritz Strobl, Hannes Trinkl and many others. Lovely greetings were received at the Stanglwirt among others

”We are World Champions!” rejoices the Stanglwirt with Klitschko
For five weeks the lovely man from the Ukraine trained at the Stanglwirt in the
tennis hall which was converted into a boxing camp just for him. It is the perfect
training and overall conditions which keeps the Klitschko brothers coming back to
Going time and again. The picturesque surroundings of the Kaiser mountain range,
the Tyrolean air, the water and the natural surroundings fill the boxing champ with
enthusiasm, who sometimes trains using unconventional methods in the natural
surroundings which can be found right on the hotel doorstep.
Actor Hans Sigl, known as the Lead actor
in the series ‘Der Bergdoktor’, read wonderful texts for a good cause. In keeping
with the traditional atmosphere of the
Stanglwirt, local poets like Peter Rosegger, Enzi Kraus and Georg Paulmichl
recited works. Renowned Tirol Jazz musician Christian Wegschneider provided a
suitable musical accompaniment. All of
the entrance fees went to a good cause,

That the effort was worthwhile is shown in the impressive result: Vitali Klitschko
was able to defend his World Champion title. With a knock-out in the 10th round he
defeated the Pole, Albert Sosnowski, though the man from the Ukraine edged ahead
from the start. In so doing Klitschko remains the professional boxing world champion
in the heavy weight class, with this his 38th knock-out victory. Vitali Klitschko, who
stands 2.02 m tall, together with his brother Wladimir has made it to the top of the
world rankings and his victory has once again proved that he is there to stay too!
Bio-Hotel Stanglwirt has long attracted famous athletes as a place to train effectively. Our
ÖSV European cup skiers, ski jumpers and also stars of the German football club VFL
Wolfsburg train with the ‘power of the Wilder Kaiser’. Endurance, power and coordination

Olympics in Sotschi in 2014 or the World Championships in Schladming in 2013: ‘The

into a hotel empire, yet has been a great place to relax for decades now ...

of 50 percent public voting (on the online
portal ‘Madonna’) and votes from a panel
of judges (made up of ten well-known
personalities from Austria).

Leading Ladies Award in the “Mover &
Shaker of the year” category however
finally went to Brigitte Ederer who was
this year promoted as the new CEO of
Siemens AG Europe. “It is such a great
pleasure and an honour for me to have
been ranked just behind a personality
like her. The most precious thing is the
assurance of having won the public vote
... I was just bowled over by that”, said
Maria Hauser on winning over the hearts
of the people. She thanked everyone
who followed the contest assiduously
and who voted.

At the Stanglwirt VIPs celebrate the start of
the Hahnenkamm weekend
VIPs and more high calibre events than ever before were on show on 22nd January 2010 at the 19th
edition of the legendary Weißwurst party in the Stanglwirt.

Around 2500 visitors, among them a variety of stars & starlets from the worlds of show business, sport, society and business,
celebrated into the early hours of the morning and beyond any doubt, the party to honour this favourite Bavarian meal was a real
hotspot during the Hahnenkamm weekend. When mastermind and Stanglwirt owner Balthasar Hauser invites people to a Weißwurst party, then that is set to be the most noteworthy side-event of Kitzbüheler Hahnenkamm race programme - by a long chalk.
For the 19th time this hip, mega pub crawl was held by the Hauser family, who yet again provided an incomparable mix of shows,
glamour and entertainment, with a relaxed atmosphere, a bevy of famous guests. ‘Simply legendary’, as it was succinctly put by
the musical head-lining act and star guest of the evening SASHA. This successful German pop star provided a really exceptional
musical experience with his catchy hits like ‘I Fell Lonely’, ‘Hide and Seek’ and ‘Wide Awake’.

Along with SASHA, there was a musical surprise in the guise of ex-Formula 1 bird of paradise and special guest Eddie Jordan, who
together with the band showed his extraordinary talent as a drummer during a live performance. Eddie was accompanied by a VIP
fan community, based around racing driver David Coulthard and Red Bull Air Race World Champion Hannes Arch. DJ Ötzi didn’t miss
out on this opportunity to be on stage with the ex-Formula 1 star either, and gave it his best among others with his latest hit ‘Sweet
Caroline’.
They all donated their appearance fees to the “Wings for Life” initiative which was set up a few years ago by Heinz Kinigadner.

In the lead role – the Weißwurst
The Weißwurst is a culinary focal point every year. Star chef Alfons Schuhbeck,
who is ‘Weißwurst Pontiff’ and party co-founder Toni Holnburger have long been
indulging visitors with a record-breaking 5000 Weißwurst and almost as many pretzels. “If it continues in this way next year we’ll need a much bigger cooking pot”,
quips Toni Holnburger, who is already toying with thoughts for new Weißwurst
creations in the year to come.
Media interest has also been enormous. No fewer than 200 media representatives
and 25 TV teams were accredited for this year’s party. A VIP service which of an
exceptionally high class was offered by Salzburg’s Jetbroker Flyby Management.
On the ‘Weißwurstjet’ selected air passengers were flown from Vienna to Salzburg
in the sophisticated luxurious atmosphere of a Citation II, and from Salzburg via
helicopter direct to the Weißwurstparty.
