honoring our past
A Word From The President
Greetings Degans!
We are in the midst of finalizing plans for the 96th
Alumni Reunion Weekend and 138th Commencement Exercises. Planned with you in mind, the returning alumni from the ‘3s and ‘8s classes, along with
the Golden Class of 1963 and the 2013 Graduating
Class, are sure to enjoy this exciting weekend! This
year, we are “Celebrating 145 Years of Academic
Excellence” and, as May 10th - 12th approaches, we
enthusiastically look forward to your arrival on campus. As you return, I invite you to lend your support
for Dega and encourage others to do the same.
In the ever-changing world we live in today, we
continue to work for our current students and for future generations of Talladega College students. Talladega College is proud of its educational legacy – of
being in the forefront of educational circles and promoting excellence in our students. Education is, and
always has been, the key to greatness. The legacy of
Talladega College continues to prove this on a daily
basis through you, the alumni and the students. As
examples and mentors, we must endeavor to instill in
students the values of the Talladega College Mission
Statement. In addition, we must encourage the “Pay
It Forward” motto in our students.
We are here today because of the sacrifices of
others and their legacy bestowed upon us. While we
look back to the past, we know we must push forward
to the future in the educational arena and continually
change by progressively moving forward in a world
filled with daily changing technology.
Sincerely,
CELEBRATING 145 YEARS
OF ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
