Vikram qualified as a Chartered Accountant in India after completing his Bachelor’s Degree
inCommerce, with Honours, from the University of Calcutta in 1985. The subsequent year he
moved to London, working first as a Financial Accountant for ICI plc and then as International
Treasurer for SmithKline Beecham plc. (now GlaxoSmithKline).
While in London, Vikram attained membership at the Institute of Corporate Treasurers and
subsequently completed his Masters’ in Business Administration from the London Business
School. He majored in Strategic Marketing and was selected, as part of the international
exchange programme, for a semester at the JJ Kellogg School of Management in Chicago. He is
also the recipient of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award, presented at Buckingham Palace in
London.
