Weimar took over and began to move the ball,
but their drive bogged down about midfield, and
they were forced to punt the ball away.
The Raiders also pushed the ball toward midfield
with the running game, but were forced to punt when
the drive sputtered out
Weimar took over at the 47 and on the first play
Hawthorne tossed the ball back to his brother Lynx
Hawthorne who then threw a bomb downfield for a
Wildcat touchdown.
The extra point tied the game at 7-7 with 3:24
left in the half.
Weimar then tried a sneak onside kick, but the
Raiders handled it and took over near midfield.
Three plays later, Weimar picked off a pass and
took the ball at the 44.
Rice returned the favor two plays later when Hull
intercepted a Weimar pass.
Rice ended up punting, and the Wildcats took a
knee to send the game to halftime tied a 7-7.
The Raiders got the ball to start the second half,
but were unable to push past midfield and punted
away.
Weimar took over at the 20, and broke a 30-yard
run to near midfield.
Three pays later, they connected on a 22-yard
pass to the Rice 30.
They ran the ball four straight plays to score a
touchdown.
The extra point missed, however, and Weimar
took the lead 7-13 with 5:02 left in the third quarter.
Rice kept the ball on the ground on the next drive,
grinding toward midfield.
The Raiders broke a huge run on first down at the
Weimar 48, but a hold on the play brought it back
They were unable to convert the first down a few
plays later and were forced to punt.

Weimar took over at the 36 and immediately
picked up 21 yards into Raider territory.
A holding penalty backed them up, however and
three plays later Carlos Sosa came up with a third
Raider interception.
The Raiders cashed in immediately. Dumont
took the snap and after a quick drop back, lobbed
a perfect pass down the middle into the hands of
Hull who took it the rest of the 74 yards to make the
score 13-13.
Samaniego nailed the point after to put Rice on
top 14-13 with 11:29 left in the game.
The Wildcats again looked to be on the move on
their next drive. They ran the ball three times into
Raider territory at the 37.
After three plays with no gain, Weimar went for it
on fourth down and a Sosa came up big again, breaking up the pass attempt to give Rice the ball.
Rice went right back to running game, with one
24-yard pass to Hull mixed in.
The Raiders took eight snaps and drained over
four minutes off the clock en route to scoring another
touchdown on a Shorter run from 12 yards out.
Samaniego made the extra point and Rice led
21-13 with 4:01 left in the game.
Weimar mishandled the kickoff and had to start
from their own 12.
The Raider defense stood tough and denied three
run attempts, forcing Weimar to punt the ball away
with 1:46 left
The Raiders were able to drain the rest of the
clock for the victory.
Defensive standouts for Rice were:
Chris Dorsey, 11 tackles, 3 solo, 1 for loss; Francisco Vazquez, 9 tackles, 4 solo; Damien Stevens,
6 tackles, 3 solo, interception; Terrance Shorter, 6
tackles, 3 solo; Carlos Sosa, 4 tackles, 3 solo, interception, pass broken up.
