Straight Stock 8 Cylinder Participating Regulations (2015)

* Any North American made hardtop automobile or station wagon 1973 and newer allowed! Any 2003 and newer must
have complete STOCK front suspension, cross member and body, for that year and model. Convertibles, hearses, or
limousines NOT allowed. V.I.N. plate must be visible.*
1. This derby will consist of 1 feature race, depending on number of entries.
2. This is geared towards stock build. Motor and transmissions may be exchanged. NO DRIVETRAIN PROTECTORS
ALLOWED OF ANY KIND. NO SLIDER DRIVE SHAFTS.
3. All cars registered to stock class v8 must have factory installed rear end for that year, 5 bolt max.
4. Safety belts and approved helmets must be worn. Helmet shield, safety glasses or goggles must be worn.
5. All glass including side markers, head and taillights must be removed, windshield included. Rolling down windows is
not permitted. (ALL GLASS MUST BE COMPLETELY REMOVED). Air bags must be removed, Headliner, chrome
moldings, antenna, sun visors, mirrors, plastics, all door handles, anything dangerous must be removed. Auto must be
swept clean prior to inspection!!!
6. Gas Tanks- Stock gas tank must be removed. An auxiliary tank of steel or neoprene construction is to be used.
Neoprene tanks must be completely covered with light gauge tin on all sides on top and bottom. NO gas lines to run
under cars! Auxiliary tank is not to exceed five (5) gallon capacity. Tank must be securely fastened down and covered.
(Marine type highly recommended.)
7. Auxiliary tank to be located no further ahead than the back of the front seat (in center area).
8. Absolutely no one (1) to five (5) gallon carrying gas cans allowed for auxiliary tank. All caps, fittings, lines must be
leak proof. Any fuel leakage will lead to disqualification.
9. Fuel Pumps- Electric fuel pumps must be securely fastened and covered, must have a safety shut off switch, “punch
button style” mark in red mounted on roof and center of windshield
10. Batteries - Only one (1) 12 volt battery allowed in car. Battery must be securely fastened down and covered
completely. (Passenger floor recommended).
11. Radiators To remain in the stock position, or be removed. Electric fans may be used. Transmission coolers are to
remain in the engine compartment. All A/C condensers must be removed. Large holes in firewall should be covered.
Only water in radiators, no anti-freeze.
12. Bumpers- Only car bumpers allowed, front & back. No reinforcing, alterations, or modifications to bumpers allowed.
Bumper ends may be cut, but no sharp edges or points. (Bumper shocks only may be welded). Support brackets from
bumper to frame are allowed if required with very limited weld. Any excessive weld will result in disqualification.
13. Fenders- Cutting fenders for wheel clearance only is allowed. Bolting of fenders not allowed.
14. Doors- Left front driver’s door must be painted white. All doors must be securely fastened shut in 9 places, with seat
belt, wired, chained, or welded. If welded 3x3” squares only, 9 per side. No welding of inside of doors. Driver will
be disqualified if driver’s door comes open. Inside of drivers door only may be reinforced for driver’s safety (but no
overkill).
15. Door plates - Driver’s side door plates optional, 12”x72”x1/4”thick spot welded or bolted.
16. Fire Extinguisher- All cars must be equipped with a fire extinguisher within drivers reach, in working condition.
17. Bars-You may install a driver compartment protection bar. This bar will be located behind driver’s seat, and fastened
between the left and right door pillars. Bar(s) in front (dash area) are permitted. Halo bars are optional attached to seat
bar, but are not mandatory (drivers safety) Bolted to roof in 3 places. Not to come in contact with frame in any way.
18. Mounts- It is recommended that engine mounts be chained, wired, or welded down.
19. Windshield Bar- Mandatory bar must be installed between roof and cowl (middle of windshield). This is to keep hood
from coming into driver’s compartment. “A” or “H” pattern permitted.
20. Hood- Hood must have a 15” hole cut out over the carburetor. Air filters are to be used. Hoods are to remain in original
position. Hoods must remain open for inspection.
21. Hood must be fastened down in four (4) places, wired or chained. If using ready-rod, 3/4” max with bolts and 3”
washers, ready-rod is not to be welded to or through the frame.
22. Trunk- Trunk lid may only be fastened down up to six (6) places, wired or chained. No welds or welding on trunk lid.
A 12” inspection hole is required. No threaded rod allowed in trunk area.
23. Suspension- No blocked or welded shocks, leaf springs to be stock and not altered. Coil spring lifters may be used, two
per side “max”(twist in type). Car must move up and down with one man’s effort.
24. No reinforcements of body or frame, welding, wiring, or chaining, any part of the body to the frame is not
permitted. Any welding of the frame is not permitted. No tilting of frame allowed. Trailer hitches must be
completely removed. Any excessive alteration will lead to automatic disqualification or classify as ‘pro-modified’

25. Body mounts- Missing or rotted body mounts may be replaced with a hockey puck only, with no larger than stock size
bolts and three inch (3”) washers to secure. 2 additional mounts are permitted. No direct body to frame mounting.
26. Prebending of rear frame is allowed, no prebending of body or notching of frame permitted.
27. Tires- not to exceed 18” rim. Snow tires may be used. No liquid or foam filled tires. No studs, screws in rims to hold
tires. Doubled tires allowed. All wheel balance weights inside and outside must be removed.
28. All cars must have brakes before each heat.
29. Any car spilling gas or catching fire is automatically disqualified from his/her heat.
30. Cars may be decorated but only in good taste.
31. All cars will be inspected before the event. Winning feature cars will be inspected after feature event.
32. Driver and two (2) mechanics allowed in pit (2 additional passes may be purchased day of) for the straight stock car
class. Entire pit crew must be present when driver is registering to race. Any pit crew arriving late may be denied
access to pit.
33. All work should be completed before entering fairgrounds.
34. Minimum of eight (8) cars to establish each heat.
35. Cars must be off fairground property within 24hours after the event or they will be disposed of.
36. No alcoholic beverages allowed in or outside pit area. Any participant or mechanic caught drinking before or
during the event will cause that party to be disqualified.
37. Officials reserve the right to refuse or accept any entry.
38. In the event of any disputes/disagreements, the decisions of the organizing committee/officials shall be final and
binding.
Pickup Truck Participating-Regulations (2015)
Any 1978 and newer regular cab, extended cab, 4 door and suburban 1/2 ton allowed. If equipped with 4x4 the front
drive shaft must be disassembled. Motor swaps are permitted.
1. This derby will consist of ONE HEAT depending on the number of entries, the last three trucks moving will receive
prize money and trophies.
2. Safety belts and approved helmets must be worn. Helmet shield, safety glasses or goggles must be worn.
3. All glass including side markers, head and taillights must be removed, windshield included. Rolling down windows is
not permitted. Air bags must be removed also.
4. Headliner must be removed, chrome moldings, antenna, sun visors, mirrors, plastics, all door handles, anything
dangerous must be removed. Truck must be swept clean.
5. If equipped with a trailer hitch, it is to be removed.
6. All trucks must be equipped with a fire extinguisher, within drivers reach, securely fastened and in working condition.
7. Battery- Only one 12 volt battery, battery must be securely fastened down and covered with a non flammable material
(passenger floor recommended).
8. Gas tank- Stock gas tanks must be removed. Must use steel marine tank, custom steel tank or certified fuel cell,
absolutely no plastic tanks allowed. All fuel tanks can be bolted or welded to box floor 6” minimum from cab, no
further than 12”. Tanks in extended cabs or suburban’s must be securely fastened in rear passenger compartment. Tanks
must be covered with a non flammable material once inspected. No fuel lines running underneath of vehicle.
9. Absolutely no one (1) to five (5) gallon carrying gas cans allowed for auxiliary tank. All caps, fittings, lines must be
leak proof. Any fuel leakage will lead to disqualification.
10. Fuel Pumps- Electric fuel pumps must be securely fastened and covered, have on/off switch within reach of driver,
clearly highlighted for officials in case of emergency. (red push button style strongly recommended)
11. Hoods- are mandatory, if hood is removed, fans directly connected to the motor must be removed, a 15 inch hole is
required directly above the carburetor, hoods must remain open prior to inspection, hoods may be fastened down in 6
places, wire, seat belt if using ready rod ¾” max not through frame. Hoods must remain in original position.
12. Trunks/tailgates- May be welded to box sides, if pre run truck no extra metal allowed in box area. Tailgates must be in
stock location, box sides cannot be folded.
13. Fenders- Cutting fenders for wheel clearance is allowed.
14. Doors- Driver’s door MUST BE painted WHITE. Drivers door may be welded solid, all other doors are to be fastened
shut with wire, seat belt strap, or 6 pieces of 3 inch square plates welded per door.
15. Door plates- Outside of truck may have a 12” x 72” x ¼” plate attached to drivers and passengers door, bolted in 3
places and/or spot welded 1”every 12”, must not extend over 6” onto front fender.

16. Roll bar- A single roll bar up each door frame, inside or across outside of roof is recommended, roll bars going across
the roof must be bolted to the roof in 2 places. The roll bar may be bolted or welded to frame, an additional bar may be
added behind the driver’s seat from roll bar to roll bar at least 12 inches above floor.
17. Windshield bar- All trucks must have at least a single steel bar or chain from the cowl to the roof bolted or welded,
the “H” or “A” shape protection bars are recommended. If using these protectors, they must be securely fastened either
bolted or welded in place. These must not touch dash bars or distributors protectors in any way.
18. Dash bars are optional, if using a dash bar it must be mounted door frame to door frame, not to fire wall, floor, or frame.
19. All holes in fire wall must be covered with non-flammable material, all holes in floor may be repaired with same gauge
metal as factory.
20. Bumpers- Any American made car/pickup bumper is allowed, back on front, front on back, bumpers may be cut but
no sharp edges or ends allowed, bumpers are to be wired or welded on, bumpers can be attached to rad cradle in 4
spots. No extending frame rails, square tubing is allowed to mount bumpers, bumper mounts not to exceed rad cradle.
Seamed, stuffed, and/or homemade bumpers not allowed.
21. Radiators- All radiators must be flushed of anti freeze, only water allowed no reinforcement to frame or rad cradle
allowed. Square tubing up to 2 inch will be allowed to run your ready rod through, these tubes can be welded in place.
22. Protectors- Distributors may be protected, fresh trucks must have a 1 inch clearance away from fire wall and cannot
extend anymore than 2 inches past back of motor and cannot cover front of engine, excessive materials will be asked to
be removed.
23. No fastening of motor and tranny protectors to frame or body.
24. Suspension- No welding of leafs, it’s required that the rear coil be wired or welded to the differential. No spring blocks
or added helpers, rear ends can be exchanged, gears may be welded. Steering columns, drive shafts can be altered
but not reinforced. Ball joints, tie rods, control arms and steering linkages must remain stock. NO REINFORCING
ALLOWED.
25. Rear end- No one ton rear ends allowed, 8 bolt pattern not permitted. Max 5-6 bolt pattern. 1/2 TON REAR ENDS
ONLY. NO REINFORCING ALLOWED. 26. Frames- Absolutely no seam welding top and bottom. No patches on fresh frames, only rust or bent frames may be
repaired with steel no thicker than factory and no larger than 4 inches square and on 2 sides only. Maximum of 8 plate
repairs to be used. Over “repaired” frames will be considered overkill, all repairs must be painted bright orange or red
and reported to officials at tech prior to race.
27. Mounts- It is recommended that motor mounts be welded or chained, homemade mounts are allowed.
28. Missing or rotted body mounts may be replaced with a hockey puck and stock size bolts, max washer size is 3 inch, 6
additional body mounts up to 3/4inch ready rod with 3 inch washers is allowed, placed where desired.
29. Tires- Any size and tread pattern tire is allowed except studded tires, tires may be doubled but not loaded. No screwing
tires to rims, all wheel weights must be removed inside and out, stem protectors is not allowed.
30. Cars may be decorated but only in good taste.
31. All cars will be inspected before the event. Winning feature cars will be inspected after feature event.
32. Driver and two (2) mechanics allowed in pit (2 additional passes may be purchased day of) for the truck class. Entire
pit crew must be present when driver is registering to race. Any pit crew arriving late may be denied access to pit.
33. All work should be completed before entering fairgrounds.
