We were very nervous before the game. We knew this

Goooly’s gossip
Both the goal areas had to be redone in the Kosice Steel Arena, as they were not properly placed. One of the goal areas was about 3 centimeters and the second about 7
centimeters to the right from the central axis of the ice. The mistake was made by the
Swiss company that placed the marking of the goal area below the ice of the arena.

is not Intended
to Kill Gaddafi

International forces are bombing strategic positions and are trying to weaken but not kill Libyan
leader Muammar Gaddafi. French Foreign Minister
Alain Juppe said this on Wednesday. “Our goal is
not to kill Gaddafi,” Juppe told the news channel
France 24, calling the death of the leader’s son in a
recent air strike “collateral damage”. “We are attacking military targets in Tripoli with the aim to weaken Gaddafi’s regime, which has been fighting hard
against a rebellion recognized by France,” he said.
He said the attacks will continue until the “military
capabilities of Gaddafi’s forces are neutralized “. He
also expressed hope that the operation will not last
for more than a few weeks, months at most. The
Bratislava’s Main Square [Hlavne Namestie], was
turned into a square of champions. A symbiosis of
sporting competitions, and fan enthusiasm is expressed not only by national flags of all participating teams, but also a symbolic hockey bench. During the coming days, the square of champions will
be decorated by daily photographs showing the
hockey atmosphere in the Slovak capital.

Pavelec Likes Slovak Girls,
the Czechs at Dinner
Tuesday’s program of the Czech national ice
hockey team the world championship in Bratislava included a common dinner in a Steak
House near their hotel. Coach Alois Hadamczik decided to take his team to the restaurant.
“I wanted to change the environment. Meals
at the hotel were not among the best, even
though it has slightly improved. The choice
for breakfast was far better,” complained Hadamczik for the server iDnes.cz. During their
free time, the Czech ice hockey players go for
a walk to the center of Bratislava or to shopping malls. Outside the hotel, they wander in
small groups. The Czech hockey players also
take note of the Slovak girls. “I do not want to
spoil it for myself in the Czech Republic, but
in Slovakia it is just incredible,” said goalie Ondrej Pavelec.

European Commission Proposed
Restoring Border Controls in
Exceptional Circumstances
The executive of the European Union has proposed on Wednesday a resumption of border
controls in exceptional cases, although the development of “a borderless continent” is viewed as a
major achievement of the European Union. The
European Commission has made the proposal
after France and Italy insisted on revising the
Schengen system, based on which people in the
EU can seamlessly travel across internal borders of
Europe. However, this applies not only EU citizens
but also to illegal migrants. After a surge of thousands of migrants from North Africa, who illegally
entered Italy and are then moving across Europe,
European Commissioner for Internal Affairs Cecilia
Malmström said that “it will probably be necessary
to consider limited reintroduction of internal border controls.”
